Aditi Rao Hydari To Feature Alongside Vijay Sethupathi In Zee Studios' Pan-India Silent Film 'Gandhi Talks'?

Mumbai, August 14, 2021: Earlier in January this year, Tamil actor Vijay Sethupathi announced that he be starring in a silent feature film, Gandhi Talks. He teamed up with Marathi filmmaker Kishor Pandurang Belekar, who's known for directing award-winning theatre plays and films like Sa Sasucha (2010) and Yeda (2013). ## Now, the latest development is that Padmavat actress Aditi Rao Hydari has reportadly been cast to play the leading lady in this ambitious venture. The film is said to be a dark comedy with elements from Mahatma Gandhi's principles as the backdrop. It depicts the harsh realities of today's times and how Gandhi has become a prime witness of everything that he stood against. ## Gandhi Talks will be produced by Zee Studios in association with Movie Mill Entertainment. The film marks Sethupathi and Hydari's second collaboration after Mani Ratnam's critically acclaimed 2018 gangster drama, Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, which also starred Silambarasan, Arvind Swami, Arun Vijay, Jyothika, Aditi Rao Hydari, and Aishwarya Rajesh, among others in prominant roles. ## The Oscar winner A.R. Rahman will be composing the background score for the film. It is a Pan-India film that will release in six languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Malayalam, and Kannada. Gandhi Talks is the first multi-lingual silent feature film in 34 years. Kamal Haasan's career-defining 1987 black comedy, Pushpak, was the last noteworthy dialogue-free film to be released in various languages across India. ## It is reported that director Kishor Belekar has spent 19 years on the script of the film, which is finally set to take off. Mumbai, August 13, 2021: Earlier this year, the director Siddharth Anand announced his collaboration with actors Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone. The film, titled "Fighter", is to be India's first-ever aerial action-thriller franchise, for which, Anand joined hands with Viacom18 Studios to produce the movie. ## Initially, the movie was announced with the release date, which was September 30, 2022. However, due to the second covid-19 wave, the movie couldn't go on floors. Now the makers are planning to take the movie on floors in early next year, and keeping that in mind, Fighter has been slated to release on Republic Day (26 January) 2023 in theaters worldwide. ## Fighter marks Siddharth Anand's maiden production under his banner MARFLIX. Chandigarh, August 13, 2021: The first big Punjabi movie in one and a half years, Puaada starring Ammy Virk and Sonam Bajwa takes a good start at the box office upon its release on August 12. The rom-com hasn't got a wider release due to restrictions but it has done well to bring the audience to the theaters. ## The film has been released in around 75 theatres only when normally it would be around 175 in East Punjab. With the help of decent buzz before its release, the movie sold around 2800 tickets to PVR cinemas before its release which is on par with the 2020 Punjabi release, Sufna. Sufna also had sold 2800 tickets in PVR before release. ## Puaada saw good footfalls on day 1 even without three key properties including the highest collecting cinema for Punjabi films PVR Mohali and also no night shows in Delhi or Chandigarh. After seeing the good response on the first day, more and more shows and theaters are expected to come into play in the coming days. ## There were some multiplexes that recorded around 100 audience counts in the morning shows while single screens and non-national multiplex chains were even better as they recorded audience counts of 200 and even full houses. The collection of the movie is expected to remain low due to limited release in the first couple of days but it should pick up the pace over the weekend as more theaters and shows will be added. ## Irrespective of what will be the collection of Puaada, the audience is coming to theaters which is a good sign and a big boost to upcoming Hindi films. Ajay Devgn's Bhuj: The Pride of India is also ready for Disney Plus Hotstar release on August 13. ## While some more films are gearing up for OTT release, Akshay Kumar starrer Bell Bottom has sealed the theatrical release worldwide on August 19 and it brought joy among theater owners as it will kick off the unlocking of cinemas. Aamir Khan, however, admitted that theaters can only be open if the health situation in the country improves and that people get vaccinated.## At an event recently, Aamir Khan was quoted as saying, "Some films are releasing on OTT platforms, and as a film person, I am very concerned. I hope in the near future things will improve. It is not easy to talk about reopening cinema halls. Theatres can be opened up only when the health situation improves, and we control the Covid-19 situation as a society, we are all trying and working on it. As more and more people get vaccinated things will get better". ## Meanwhile, as cinemas are reopening gradually, more and more films are executed to announce the release date, and it has begun as Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi starrer mystery thriller, Chehre, will be the second Hindi film after Bell Bottom to hit the big screen. It is scheduled to release on August 27. ## On the other hand, Aamir Khan's Laal Singh Chaddha is one of the films that has been pushed from the last year. R Balki's Psychological Thriller With Dulquer Salmaan Ropes In Sunny Deol, Pooja Bhatt & Shreya Dhanwanthary

Mumbai, August 11, 2021: Earlier in May this year, director R Balki announced his next film with Malayalam star Dulquer Salmaan. The yet-to-be-titled psychological thriller is written by R Balki and co-written by Rishi Virmani and Raja Sen. Now, the makers have brought a respectable cast on board to join Salmaan. ## As reported earlier, Sunny Deol has been confirmed to lead the cast along with Shreya Dhanwanthary, and Pooja Bhatt while Dulquer was already confirmed. The film marks R Balki's first collaboration with all four actors and the filmmaker is excited to shoot on the project after a long time. Balki last directed the 2018 National Award-winning drama Pad Man starring Akshay Kumar. ## "After months of waiting, for me, it is exciting to start shooting anything. And to make a film in a genre that I haven't attempted before is even more exciting. I have had the idea for a long time but never quite got around to writing it, and while it's fundamentally a thriller, it banks so much on these four stunning performers. I just can't wait to get into the edit room", Balki said in a statement.## Sunny Deol, who is widely known for doing action films, is returning to films after Blank (2019). R Balki said that he can't wait to exploit the actor's booming screen presence. "I am ecstatic to be working with Sunny, an actor whose booming screen presence conveys so much. Am glad he is back and hoping this new adventure will add a new dimension to his glorious filmography", he added. ## Balki also said he is thrilled that one of the "most charming" actors in Indian cinema, Dulquer Salman will be working with him. Mumbai, August 11, 2021: A biopic on the Indian legendary playback singer and actor, Kishore Kumar, has been in talks for a long time now. Filmmakers Anurag Basu and Shoojit Sirkar were keen to bring iconic charactor to life on the big screen. Even versatile actor Ranbir Kapoor was reportadly finalized by Basu, however, things couldn't move forward due to various complications in the making. ## Now, things are falling in place and the biopic of Kishore Kumar is finally in the work. Amit Kumar, the son of the late singer, has taken the decision along with his family to produce and direct the biopic on the life and times of Kishore Kumar. Amit Kumar is himself a gifted and renowned singer and has acted in several films directed by and starring his father. ## "It was always my intention that we do the biopic. After all who knows him (Kishore Kumar) better than his family?. We're about to start shooting the interviews with our family about my father", says Amit Kumar adding that the movie will take time to roll out. ## "We know that the script will take at least a year to develop. It's a lot of hard work, and a long journey ahead", he added. ## There were reports that Ayushmann Khurrana had expressed his desire to play the celebrated role. As Ranbir Kapoor was also approached, who knows when the casting of lead actor begins, he might come to the scene again as well. Yami Gautam And Sunny Kaushal To Star In Amar Kaushik's Thriller Film - Chor Nikal Ke Bhaaga

Mumbai, August 11, 2021: Filmmaker Amar Kaushik's thriller project, Chor Nikal Ke Bhaaga, which was supposed to take off in 2017 with John Abraham and Rajkummar Rao and producers Prerna Arora and Arjun N Kapoor, has reportedly been revived with a new cast and team. ## According to Peepingmoon.com, Sunny Kaushal and Yami Gautam have been finalized to play the lead in this reanimated version of the film that has been written by Siraj Ahmed who recently wrote Srijit Mukherji's short film in Netflix anthology Ray starring Ali Fazal and Shweta Basu Prasad. ## Amar Kaushik, however, will reportadly not be directing Chor Nikal Ke Bhaaga anymore, instead, he will work as a creative producer on this film while the directorial duty has been given to Ajay Singh, better known as Ajax. Kaushik is collaborating with producer Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films to back this thriller based on a diamond heist. ## Interestingly, both Yami Gautam and Sunny Kaushal are already working on revived projects after they were earlier shelved due to various reasons. Yami is committed to her husband Aditya Dhar's Raat Baaki which is finally being made after five years while Sunny has signed Navdeep Singh's long-in-the-making Kaneda that will go on floors once the travel restrictions for India are lifted in Canada. ## Stay tuned...
