It could not even cross the collection of Akshay's "Bell Bottom" which was released during extremely difficult times of the covid-19 pandemic. ## The back-to-back underperformances of his films are making Akshay take different options for his upcoming films. With so many films in his kitty, Akshay is reportedly opting for a direct-to-digital release of a comedy-drama film "Oh My God 2".## According to LetsCinema, OMG 2 will directly be released via Voo/Jio Cinema. The release date, however, is not known yet but rumors say it might release in June/July this year. While the official confirmation is yet to be made, it comes as a shocking move as its predecessor "OMG – Oh My God!" (2012) and was a big box office blockbuster. ## Directed by Amit Rai, OMG2 was originally announced for a theatrical release and was supposed to release in 2022 before it was postponed indefinitely. Los Angeles, March 16 - James Gunn has officially lined up Superman: Legacy as his next directorial project, he confirms on social media. ## Gunn has been writing the upcoming DC superhero movie even before he became the co-head of DC Studios in November. The movie, however, was offered to him to direct years ago but he initially denied it saying "I didn't have a way in that felt unique and fun and emotional that gave Superman the dignity he deserved".## "Then a bit less than a year ago I saw a way in, in many ways centering around Superman's heritage - how both his aristocratic Kryptonian parents and his Kansas farmer parents inform who he is and the choices he makes", Gunn tweeted.## "So I chose to finally take on writing the script. But I was hesitant to direct, despite the constant pestering by Peter Safran and others to commit (sorry, Peter). Just because I write something doesn’t mean I feel it in my bones, visually and emotionally, enough to spend over two years directing it, especially not something of this magnitude. While most of the films have been falling apart in the opening weekend itself, completing 50 days in theaters is no less than a historic achievement in today's time. ## On its 50th day, the Siddharth Anand's directorial is still being played in 20 countries. In India, it is playing in over 800 theaters and 135 cinemas across international markets in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. YRF has also reduced ticket prices and resulting in, it still minting money at the box office. ## So far, Pathaan has grossed approx. 1045 crores at the worldwide box office, including approx. 655 crores domestically and approx. 390 crores overseas. The spy actioner has broken many records during its box office journey and one of them is becoming the highest-grossing Hindi language movie domestically and worldwide. ## It has beaten SS Rajamouli's Baahubali 2 to become the biggest film in India in a single language. John Abraham's Jim From Blockbuster Pathaan Set To Get A Spin-Off Film

Mumbai, March 15 - The mega-blockbuster success of Pathaan has proved why Shah Rukh Khan is one of the biggest superstars in the country. The movie was all about SRK and his comeback to the big screen, and in between his dominance on the screen, the other character of the movie who found appreciation was John Abraham's Jim. ## John Abraham portrayed the role of the lead antagonist Jim. Jim was himself a fierce RAW agent but unfortunate events made him turn up against his own people. Fans lauded John's performance as one his finest ever, and it was a matter of time before Yash Raj Film bring him back to its Spy Universe. ## Director Siddharth Anand had previously said that he would love to make a spin-off film on Jim and now, according to Mid-Day, YRF is indeed planning the project. ## "Given that a mere glimpse of his character's back story in Pathaan evoked such a positive response, the makers now want to show his heroics and the events that led him to become a fallen agent who lost hope in humanity, and turned into an evil mercenary", reports Mid-Day. ## The project is still in the early stage as YRF is currently working on "Tiger 3" and will then head to "War 2". The spin-off of Jim will focus on the establishment of the deeper connections of him with other characters in the Spy Universe. In "Pathaan", it was revealed that Jim and Kabir (played by Hrithik in War) were trained in the same spy agency. ## Pathaan concludes with a scene that sees Jim falling into a valley, suggesting that he has been killed. Mumbai, March 15 - Director Luv Ranjan's romantic-comedy Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor is going strong at the box office and crossed 100 crores gross mark domestically. ## After putting good numbers in the 5-day opening weekend, TJMM is maintaining a study run during the weekdays. In the first 7-days, it scored 82.31 crores net or 97.20 crores gross. It has crossed the 100 crores gross mark on its 8th day. ## TJMM is heading towards 92+ crores net or 109 crores gross in the extended 9-day opening week. It will breach the 100 crores net mark during the second week, mostly by Saturday to become the 7th Bollywood movie post the covid-19 pandemic to achieve the feat. ## Worldwide, TJMM has already crossed the 100 crores mark. Box Office: 'Shazam! Fury Of The Gods' Projection Indicates $80+ Million Worldwide Launch

Los Angeles, March 15 - DC's next superhero flick, Shazam! Fury Of The Gods finally is hitting theaters this Friday after multiple delays due to the covid-19 pandemic. ## Directed by David F. Sandberg, the sequel to Shazam! (2019) will be released in 77 international markets along with domestic this weekend. At the domestic (North America) box office, Shazam 2 will be released at approx. 4300 theaters, and as per the Deadline, it could open between $35 million - $40 million on the opening weekend. ## Internationally, Fury of the Gods will start rolling out from Wednesday to Friday and it is projected to be a $45 million - $50 million offshore start. Overall, the sequel is tracking an $80+ million worldwide opening ($80M - $85M), which is lower than the 2019 original ($53.5M domestic, $102M WW).## Shazam 2, however, might surprise at the North American box office, much like Creed III and Scream VI, which blew away the box office projections with openings of $58.3 million and $44.4 million, respectively over the last two weekends. ## Starring Zachary Levi in the titular role, Fury Of The Gods shows Billy Batson and his foster siblings, who transform into superheroes by saying "Shazam!", forced to get back into action and fight the Daughters of Atlas. Los Angeles, March 14 - HBO Max's post-apocalyptic drama series The Last Of Us Season 1 concludes on record viewership numbers. The Season 1 finale of the show drew 8.2 million viewers in the US across HBO's linear channel and digital platforms on Sunday, according to Deadline. ## The 8.2 million viewers are the highest same-day count for the series. The final episode viewership of the show is ahead of 8.1 million of the second last episode last week despite competing with the Oscars. At the same time, the final episode records a 74% increase over the first episode, which scored 4.7 million viewers on its first day. ## The average audience for The Last Of Us' first 6 episodes is about 30.4 million viewers across all platforms, with the first episode inching towards 40 million viewers. On the other hand, the viewership of the series outside the US is the highest ever in the history of HBO Max in both Europe and Latin America. Data, however, is not revealed for the outside markets. ## The Last Of Us is one of the highest-rated shows for any platform with a 96% critics score and 89% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. Its viewership has been setting records with each episode scoring higher viewers than the previous one. ## Starring Pedro Pascal, and Bella Ramsey, the series is based on the PlayStation game. It takes place 20 years after modern civilization has been destroyed. Joel, a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone. The Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor-fronted movie has crossed 100 crores worldwide in the first 5 days and is looking good for an uninterrupted run for 2-3 weeks. ## Produced by T-Series and Luv Films, TJMM has been on the radar of a section of people for its box office collection and budget. There are rumors circulating on social media that Ranbir has charged 50 crores for the film and the budget of the movie is 200 crores. ## However, during a recent interview with NDTV, director Luv Ranjan revealed that the actor hasn't charged his remuneration yet for TJMM. In a viral video clip from the interview, Ranjan could be heard saying that the actor hasn't failed him over the last four years during the making of the film and that he hasn't taken his fees knowing the reality. ## Going by Ranjan's words, it looked like he was in some sort of financial trouble and Ranbir understood that. The first poster along with the trailer of the film was launched on Monday.## "The Little Mermaid" is a live-action adaptation of Disney's 1989 animated film of the same name, which itself is loosely based on the 1837 fairy tale of the same title by Hans Christian Andersen. It is the beloved story of Ariel, a beautiful and spirited young mermaid with a thirst for adventure. ## The youngest of King Triton's daughters and the most defiant, Ariel longs to find out more about the world beyond the sea and, while visiting the surface, falls for the dashing Prince Eric. While mermaids are forbidden to interact with humans, Ariel must follow her heart. These actions lead to a confrontation with her father and an encounter with the conniving sea witch Ursula, making a deal with her to trade her beautiful voice for human legs so she can discover the world above water and impress Eric.
