Prithviraj Is My Dream Project, Says Director Chandraprakash Dwivedi
Mumbai, May 3 - The long-awaited historical action drama film, "Prithviraj" is getting ready for June 3rd worldwide release. In the movie, Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar plays celebrated Rajput emperor Prithviraj Chauhan along with Manushi Chhillar, who makes her Hindi film debut playing the role of Sanyogita. ## Written and directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi, the movie is based on medieval poet Chand Bardai's epic poem Prithviraj Raso. It also stars Sanjay Dutt, Sonu Sood, Ashutosh Rana, Sakshi Tanwar, Manav Vij, and Lalit Tiwari in other important characters. Director Dwivedi in a recent interview spoke about the movie and called it his dream project that has been a long time coming. ## "Prithviraj is my dream project. It's a script that I have nurtured for a long, long time because of the extensive research work that was needed before I even attempted to make a film on this mighty and legendary king. To be precise, Prithviraj's final research took about six months for me to be fully satisfied that every single fact was checked multiple times", said Dwivedi as per Indian Express. ## The director further said that he is fully satisfied as a filmmaker for taking so much time before releasing his dream. "There is no Samrat like Prithviraj in our history and I hope our film is a fitting tribute to his valour and magnanimous way of life", he added. ## Produced by Yash Raj Films, the movie is one of the costliest ever in Bollywood with a budget of over 250 crores.
