Prithviraj Is My Dream Project, Says Director Chandraprakash Dwivedi

Mumbai, May 3 - The long-awaited historical action drama film, "Prithviraj" is getting ready for June 3rd worldwide release. In the movie, Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar plays celebrated Rajput emperor Prithviraj Chauhan along with Manushi Chhillar, who makes her Hindi film debut playing the role of Sanyogita. ## Written and directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi, the movie is based on medieval poet Chand Bardai's epic poem Prithviraj Raso. It also stars Sanjay Dutt, Sonu Sood, Ashutosh Rana, Sakshi Tanwar, Manav Vij, and Lalit Tiwari in other important characters. Director Dwivedi in a recent interview spoke about the movie and called it his dream project that has been a long time coming. ## "Prithviraj is my dream project. It's a script that I have nurtured for a long, long time because of the extensive research work that was needed before I even attempted to make a film on this mighty and legendary king. To be precise, Prithviraj's final research took about six months for me to be fully satisfied that every single fact was checked multiple times", said Dwivedi as per Indian Express. ## The director further said that he is fully satisfied as a filmmaker for taking so much time before releasing his dream. "There is no Samrat like Prithviraj in our history and I hope our film is a fitting tribute to his valour and magnanimous way of life", he added. ## Produced by Yash Raj Films, the movie is one of the costliest ever in Bollywood with a budget of over 250 crores. Los Angeles, May 2 - A few days ago, "Fast & Furious" director Justin Lin had walked out from the franchise's next installation, "Fast X", which has already commenced filming. While not giving reasons behind his decision, Lin announced that he will, however, remain involved with the project as a producer.## Now, according to nydailynews, Justin Lin quit as director of "Fast & Furious 10" because star Vin Diesel is so difficult. "Diesel shows up late to the set. He doesn't know his lines. And he shows up out of shape. No one is dissing Vin Diesel on the record, but everyone knows", the report said quoting a source. ## Production on "Fast 10" started on April 20, with franchise stars Vin Diesel, Jordana Brewster, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sung Kang, and Charlize Theron returning, along with new cast members Brie Larson, Michael Rooker, Jason Momoa, and Daniela Melchior. ## Justin Lin directed five "Fast and Furious" movies, beginning with 2006's "The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift". Box Office: Megastar Chiranjeevi's 'Acharya' Shockingly Has A Disastrous Opening Weekend

Hyderabad, May 2 - Megastar Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan's action drama film "Acharya" was released amid much curiosity among the fans. The movie did take a huge opening of 51 crores worldwide gross, however, the box office result after the first day turned out to be shockingly disastrous. ## Directed by Koratala Siva, the movie got bad reviews and it is termed the weakest film in director Siva's filmography. As a result of the bad reviews and negative word of mouth, the movie plumbed massively on the second day and grossed just 10 crores with a huge drop of 76%.## There was no respite for the film on Sunday as well as it further dropped to 7.70 crores gross and registered a disappointing opening weekend with 61.10 crores gross at the domestic box office. Overseas, it scored approx. 11 crores gross, pushing worldwide cume to 72 crores. With a look at it, 72 crores worldwide gross in just 3 days sounds big numbers, but the huge drop on the second day itself and with no way going forward, is going to cause major losses to the distributors. ## The movie was valued at approx. 140 crores gross in Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh & Telangana), but it seems it will be difficult for the movie to score even 50 crores AP/TG share in its lifetime run. As of now, for the first three days, the AP/TG share of "Acharya" is 38.77 crores, and as per industry insiders, the exhibitors are expected to lose approx. 80 crores. It is heading toward one of the biggest disasters in the Telugu film industry. ## "Acharya" is produced by Konidela Production Company and Matinee Entertainment. In the movie, Chiranjeevi played the title role while Ram Charan, who is fresh from his biggest blockbuster "RRR", played the second lead as Siddha. Mumbai, May 2 - A handful of Bollywood movies are set to be postponed again to make way for big-ticket Hollywood tentpoles and also due to the delay in production. It need not say that the covid-19 pandemic has paused a big challenge for the Hindi movies.## While the Indian box office is coming to life thanks to the South Indian and Hollywood movies. Bollywood movies too have success in the form of "Sooryavanshi", "Gangubai Kathiawadi", and "The Kashmir Files", but it is not enough to bring back the industry to its strong feet again. The failure of mid-sized movies remains a big concern for makers and thus, they are now making sure they take the right steps regarding the release of their films and find suitable dates. ## According to Pinkvilla, Sidharth Malhotra, and Rashmika Mandanna's espionage thriller, "Mission Manju" and the Vicky Kaushal, Kiara Advani, and Bhumi Pednekar-starrer "Govinda Naam Mera", which are scheduled to release on June 10, are set to be postponed for later dates. Interestingly, the Hollywood movie, Jurassic World Dominion is also scheduled for June 10 release and it is unlikely to be postponed. ## The report also states that "Mission Majun" will now release between July and September this year while "Govinda Naam Mera" is targeting a year-end release. Apart from the aforementioned movies, Rani Mukerji's "Ms Chatterji V/s Norway", is also getting postponed from May 20th. Kangana Ranaut's "Dhaakad" and Kartik Aaryan's "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2" are already slated for May 20th release and are all set to proceed with that. ## Another Sidharth Malhotra film, "Yodha", which is slated for a release on November 11, is reportedly getting postponed to 2023. The movie is currently in post-production work and is said to be making way for Marvel Studios' "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever", due on November 11. Bollywood Superstar Shah Rukh Khan To Invest In A Cricket Stadium Near Los Angeles

Mumbai, May 2 - Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, actress Juhi Chawla and businessman Jay Mehta's the Knight Riders Group (KRG), after owning two T20 teams, are now investing in a cricket stadium near Los Angeles. ## The capacity of the stadium is said to be 10000 and it is located at a 15-acre land parcel in Great Park, Irvine, Southern California, some 40 miles from downtown Los Angeles. The plan to build a cricket stadium in the area is driven by Major League Cricket (MLC) which has revealed that an exclusive negotiating agreement with the city of Irvine to move forward with lease negotiations and design approvals has been approved. ## According to Variety, the investment in the stadium is likely to be in the range of $30 million and it will be designed by architects HKS. The stadium will be home to MLC's Southern California-based franchise, in the heart of one of the largest cricket-loving populations in the U.S., including an estimated 100,000 cricket fans with a further 200,000 more located in Los Angeles County. ## The capacity of the stadium will be expanded further and it will also include state-of-the-art training facilities, locker rooms, luxury suites, dedicated parking, concessions, field lighting, and an international-grade pitch to meet International Cricket Council (ICC) accreditation. ## If the proposed stadium is completed in time, it could host some of the matches of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup in 2024, which is scheduled to be played in the US and West Indies. ## "Our investment in MLC in America is based on our belief in the exciting future of cricket in the U.S.A and is well aligned to our strategy of establishing Knight Riders as a global brand in T20 cricket", said Shah Rukh Khan, per Variety. "Plans to build a world-class cricket stadium in the greater Los Angeles area are exciting for us and MLC. This will no doubt have a transformational impact for cricket in one of the world’s most iconic metropolitan destinations", he added. ## Meanwhile, on the work front, Shah Rukh Khan will next be seen in YRF's spy action thriller "Pathaan" which is scheduled to release on January 25th, 2023. The 3rd weekend total helped the total Hindi net collection to reach 369.58 crores net in 18 days. ## The Yash-starrer period action drama film was up against two new big Bollywood releases in the form of "Runway 34" and "Heroapanti 2" in the 3rd weekend but it emerged as the first choice for the moviegoers as both new releases failed to attract mass audiences. Meanwhile, the strong show of "KGF 2" has helped to score the 10th biggest 3rd weekend in Hindi. ## The dubbed Hindi version of "KGF 2" beat "Bajirao Mastani" for the 10th spot in the 3rd-weekend list. The Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directed movie scored 20.51 crores net on its 3rd weekend in 2018. The Tom Holland-fronted movie has been released in most parts of the world except in the biggest movie market in the world, China. ## During the covid-19 pandemic, it has been difficult for Hollywood to release its movies in China, especially Marvel movies. "Spider-Man: No Way Home" was supposed to release in China in January this year and things didn't work at that time. And now, the Chinese authorities have put one condition in front of makers in order to release "No Way Home" in China. ## According to reports, the Chinese authorities have asked Sony Pictures to remove The Statue of Liberty from "Spider-Man: No Way Home" if they wanted to release the film in China. This demand is something that will be very hard for Sony to accept as the entire climax action sequence in the movie takes place with a trio of Spider-Men swinging over and around Lady Liberty as they battle the supervillains. ## It needs to be noted that China has been a huge market for Spider-Man movies in the past. The previous two Spider-Man movies featuring Tom Holland had grossed $116 million and $200 million in China, respectively. Bengaluru, May 1 - Director Prashanth Neel's "KGF Chapter 2", starring Kannada cinema's biggest superstar Yash, has done an unthinkable and become the first Kannada movie of all time to reach 1000 crores worldwide gross. Forget about 1000 crores gross, KGF 2 is the first Kannada movie to cross 250 crores worldwide gross which it had achieved in just 3 days. ## It has been a box office journey to remember for the makers of KGF 2 who made it the costliest Kannada movie ever with a budget of 100 crores. It took just 18 days for KGF 2 to reach this magical box office figure. More importantly, it is only the 4th Indian movie to get there after "Baahubali 2", "Dangal", and the recently released "RRR". ## Of course, this sort of success of KGF 2 wasn't possible without the support from the other versions of the movie, and that's where the movie hit the jackpot. A Sequel To Salman Khan's 'No Entry' Has Officially Been Confirmed

Mumbai, May 1 - One of the most anticipated Bollywood movie sequels, "No Entry" has been making noise for a long time now. Superstar Salman Khan had himself said in December last year that he would be working on the sequel, however, the shooting and other details were not disclosed by him at that time. ## It was reported that the original lead trio of Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, and Fardeen Khan would be reuniting for the movie along with director Anees Bazmee. Now, the director has himself confirmed the movie and said that the shooting for the same will be commenced soon. ## Anees told IndiaToday.in, "The shoot of the film is going to start very soon. I have met Salman Bhai four to five times and told him that we have to start this film soon now. He is very serious and we are going to start very soon. Salman Bhai is there, there's Fardeen [Khan] and Anil Kapoor. These three will be a part of the movie". ## "No Entry", which was released in 2005, was the highest-grossing film of the year. Produced by Boney Kapoor, the movie holds a special place in the comedy genre in the Hindi film industry. The demand for the sequel has been there for a long time and according to Boney Kapoor, the script is ready for the movie, which is titled "No Entry Mein Entry". ## "I have the script and now it is up to Salman if he wants to do it and when he wants to do it... The No Entry Mein Entry script that I have is better than the No Entry one. It is 10 times funnier than No Entry, but the film to be made completely depends on Salman, it can be made only with him", he had said according to DNA. ## The original movie also starred Esha Deol, Lara Dutta, and Celina Jaitly along with Bipasha Basu as female leads.
