Los Angeles, March 28 - There are films and then there is "Spider-Man: No Way Home" which has proved to be a long racehorse. The Tom Holland-starrer has stunned the trade section with its historical biz at the worldwide box office amid the covid-19 pandemic. ## The Marvel/Sony's superhero flick has done an unthinkable and crossed $800 million at the domestic (North America) box office. On its 15th weekend, it earned another $2 million, which took it past $800M at $800.5M. The movie was released in theaters worldwide in December 2021 and opened to a massive $250M+ in North America. ## At one point, the now breached box office milestone was looking a far cry. Sony Pictures, however, kept pushing the film and delayed its "Morbius" to give a chance to Spidey film to pile on the momentum which has paid off. ## "Spider-Man: No Way Home" has become only the 3rd film of all time to breach the $800M domestic milestone. Only "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" ($936M), and "Avengers: Endgame" ($858M) have scored more than "No Way Home" domestically. Mumbai, March 28 - The Hindi box office is finally coming to full force with two movies doing exceptionally well together for the first time during the covid-19 pandemic. SS Rajamouli's period action drama film, "RRR", and Vivek Agnihotri's "The Kashmir Files" together brought about 95 crores net this weekend at the Hindi box office. ## "The Kashmir Files", which is based on the true facts of the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits, is putting on strong legs despite the onslaught of "RRR". After ruling the first two weeks, TKF registered another solid 3rd weekend at the box office, entering the top 10 biggest 3rd weekend grosser of all-time in Hindi. ## The Anupam Kher-starrer scored 20.85 crores (-70.27% vs 2nd weekend) and became the 8th biggest Hindi movie in the 3rd weekend, beating "Bajirao Mastani" (20.51 Cr.), and "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" (19.98 Cr.) to enter the top list of all-time. Prabhas-fronted "Baahubali 2" remains the highest-grossing Hindi film in the 3rd weekend with 42.55 crores, followed by Aamir Khan-starrer "Dangal" with 31.77 crores. ## The top 10 biggest 3rd weekend grosser in Hindi are as follows - 1. Baahubali 2 (42.55 Cr.), 2. Dangal (31.77 Cr.), 3. Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior (27.48 Cr.), 4. PK (26.75 Cr.), 5. URI: The Surgical Strike (23.54 Cr.), 6. Kabir Singh (22.52 Cr.), 7. Sanju (21.46 Cr.), 8. The Kashmir Files (20.85 Cr.), 9. Bajirao Mastani (20.51 Cr.), and 10. Bajrangi Bhaijaan (19.98 Cr.). ## "The Kashmir Files" has also become the 18th highest-earning (Net) film in Hindi with 227.12 crores in 17 days. It has overstepped Salman Khan's "Bharat" (212.03 Cr.), and "Housefull 4" (210.30 Cr.) to reach the top 20 list of all-time. Mumbai, March 27 - SS Rajamouli's period action drama film, "RRR" has had an excellent debut at the international box office, breaching the 100 crores mark in the first 3-days. It has become the first Indian movie since Aamir Khan-fronted "Thugs Of Hindostan" (2018) to reach the box office milestone. ## At the USA box office, "RRR" had the second biggest launch ever after "Baahuabli 2" ($10.4M) for an Indian movie, grossing $9.7 million (74 cr.) in the first 3 days. The film landed at number three this weekend in the USA, after "The Lost City" ($31M), and "The Batman" ($20.5M). ## Apart from the USA, the Jr. NTR/Ram Charan-fronted movie has done approx. $1.10 million (8.39 cr.) at the Australia and New Zealand box office, followed by the United Kingdom ($875K or 6.68 cr.), and approx. $2 million (15.25 cr.) in the rest of the world. Overall, "RRR" has scored $13.67 million (104 cr.) overseas in the first 3 days. ## Rajamouli's last film "Baahubali 2: The Conclusion" had scored 381 crores at the international box office. Hyderabad, March 26 - SS Rajamouli-directed "RRR" had a huge task in hand to perform on an opening day and it has not only performed successfully but also broked almost all the existing box office records for an Indian movie. The latest period action drama film got massively benefitted from the Telugu states governments' ticketing policy though. ## The movie was hugely hyped before the release and it justified the hype by proving to be a cinematic masterpiece. It has a direct competition with "Baahubali 2: The Conclusion" (2017), which was also directed by SS Rajamouli. The historical action drama film had held the record of the biggest opening ever for an Indian movie at the worldwide box office, which has now been breached by "RRR" almost 5 years later. ## Comparing opening day biz of "RRR" and "Baahubali 2" - the latest movie has grossed 223 crores (new record) while BB2 minted 217 crores worldwide on the opening day. Domestically, "RRR" has scored 156 crores gross as compared to 153 crores of BB2 while overseas, the former has scored 67 crores against 65 crores of Prabhas-starrer. ## Thanks to the new policies, "RRR" also has an upper hand over "Baahubali 2" in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, where Jr. NTR/Ram Charan film minted 102.50 crores while "Baahubali 2" had made way below but still good, 57 crores on the first day. However, in the Karnataka state, ATBB BB2 maintained its record of 19.50 crores against 14.50 crores of "RRR". In Tamil Nadu, "RRR" won the battle with a slight margin as it generated 10 crores against 9.25 crores of BB2.## "Baahubali 2" had grossed 1788 crores worldwide, in which, the Hindi collection was the biggest contributor with approx. 650 crores gross (India). This record is expected to remain unbeatable in the near future. "RRR" is unlikely to reach BB2's Hindi figure. In Hindi, BB2 had scored 52 crores gross on the first day while "RRR" could manage only 23.68 crores. Even in the Hindi belt, "RRR" is way behind BB2 on the first day as it scored only 25 crores as compared to 60.80 crores of BB2. ## Despite the advantage of higher ticket prices, one must admit that the "RRR" release has brought the Indian film industry to its strong feet. It had the biggest hurdle in the form of the covid-19 pandemic which was not the case with "Baahubali 2".
