Dhurandhar 2 Advance Booking: Can Ranveer Singh Challenge Avengers:Endgame and Jawan in the Top 5 All-Time List?

BY SACNILK

The Indian box office has entered a state of absolute mania. Following the high-octane trailer launch of Dhurandhar: The Revenge, the advance bookings have opened to a response that trade analysts are calling historic. With the film selling tickets worth Rs 4 crore in just 2 hours, the industry is now calculating if Aditya Dhar's directorial can break into the elite Top 5 list of highest advance bookings at national cinema chains (PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis). While this elite list has historically been the exclusive playground of global event films, the unprecedented velocity of Dhurandhar 2's advance sales suggests a total takeover is imminent. The benchmarks once set by Hollywood titans and Indian legends are no longer just distant targets—they are milestones that the Ranveer Singh-starrer is currently on track to effortlessly shatter as it marches toward an all-time record. Endgame sold more than 15 lakh (1.5 million) tickets across India in total advance sales, with nearly 10 lakh coming from national chains alone. It eyed an opening of Rs 50+ crore and managed a staggering Rs 35+ crore from advance collections alone. Similarly, Spider-Man: No Way Home set a massive pace, selling more than 1.5 lakh tickets in INOX properties alone within a short window. In its first 24 hours, the big daddies—PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis—combined to sell more than 2.4 lakh tickets. This is the level of momentum Dhurandhar 2 is currently competing against. While the Hollywood giants had a massive head start, Dhurandhar 2 is trending on a different trajectory. It has already sold 35,000 tickets in national chains immediately after the trailer launch and is trending on BookMyShow with 7,500 to 10,000 tickets sold per hour. Analysts suggest that the film is comfortably on track to hit 1 lakh ticket sales in just 24 hours purely through organic demand, a feat that would put it on par with the early momentum of Jawan and Pathaan.

Box Office: 'Avatar' Re-Release Beats Combined Re-Release Opening of 'No Way Home' And 'Star Wars' Films

BY SACNILK

Los Angeles, September 26 - Amid the anticipation of Avatar: The Way of Water, Disney re-released its predecessor Avatar in theaters and getting rich rewards at the box office. ## It has been 13 years since AVATAR was originally released in 2009, but the striking world of Pandora is forcing people to visit theaters to watch the 4K remastered version. The film generated $10 million in North America and $20.5 million internationally for $30.5 million worldwide over the opening weekend of its re-release. ## "We're talking about a film that's 13 years old, which people can watch at home. The big draw is the Imax presentation. 'Avatar' is serving as a reminder of how cool the imagery of Pandora looks on the big screen", says Paul Dergarabedian, a senior media analyst with Comscore. ## The response to the Avatar re-release has been such huge that it beat the new releases as well as the re-release of some of the biggest blockbusters of all time. The movie came above Florence Pugh's "Don't Worry Darling" which grossed $30 million worldwide, though it was the number one movie in North America. ## In terms of recent re-releases, ticket sales for "Avatar", which played in 1,980 theaters, came in 85% ahead of the re-release for "Spider-Man: No Way Home", which grossed $5.4 million from nearly 3900 theaters earlier this month. Domestically, "Avatar" also came above the combined gross collection of the rerelease of "No Way Home" and "Star Wars: Rogue One".## As per Variety, the remastered version of "Avatar" took the No. 1 spot in smaller markets like France ($2.9 million), Italy ($1.5 million), Singapore, and Thailand. Other top territories were Germany ($1.3 million), the United Kingdom ($1.3 million), and Korea ($1.3 million). In India, it grossed approx. $700K over the weekend.## The encouraging box office response to "Avatar" has almost confirmed the massive opening of "Avatar: The Way of Water" which opens in December this year. "Had the re-release underperformed that would be the first indicator that — uh oh — there may be a problem [for the sequel]. But this is very encouraging", Dergarabedian said.## After its latest re-release, "Avatar's" worldwide gross collection reaches $2.87 billion, comfortably sitting at the number one position of all time.## Stay tuned...

BY SACNILK

Los Angeles, June 4 - Last year in December, Tom Holland-led final movie in the Spider-Man trilogy, Spider-Man: No Way Home was released and did something which no one was expecting or had very expectations. The movie was unleashed at the box office and grossed a whopping $1.89 billion worldwide, becoming the only film to top $1 billion during the covid-19 pandemic. ## Directed by Jon Watts, the movie did introduce the multiverse concept in the MCU and left the audiences wanting more. Such was the satisfaction of watching this film that many believed it should have been nominated for the Oscars, which, obviously didn't happen. It, however, got nominations in the Best Visual Effects category. ## While the Academy didn't honor the movie with a single award, "Spider-Man: No Way Home" beat all the others to take home the Best Movie award at this year's MTV Movie & TV Awards. "No Way Home" outdone Dune, Scream, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, The Adam Project, and The Batman to beg one of the top honors. ## "I did want to take the time to say a massive thank-you to all the fans around the world who voted for Spider-Man: No Way Home and voted for me", Holland, who also won Best Performance in a Movie, in a video message. "To be part of that film, to share that film with you, to be a part of the solidarity that was built up around the world is honestly a dream come true. So thank you so much for making that happen, and on behalf of everyone at Sony and everyone at Marvel, a heartfelt thanks, and I'll see you soon".## Stay tuned...

Top 10 Highest-Grossing Hollywood Movies At The Indian Box Office

BY SACNILK

Mumbai, January 3 - The Indian audience has long embraced Hollywood films, but the last few years have seen a significant surge in their box office dominance. Ever since the release of Avengers: Infinity War in 2018, Hollywood blockbusters have not only challenged but often outperformed major Indian films at the domestic box office. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The turning point, however, came much earlier with Jurassic World (2015), which became the first Hollywood title to cross the 100 crore net mark in India — a milestone few expected a non-Indian film to achieve at the time. 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' To Be Allowed To Release In China On One Condition

BY SACNILK

Mumbai, May 2 - Marvel/Sony's "Spider-Man: No Way Home" was released in December 2021 and went on to become one of the biggest grosser of all time with a worldwide collection of $1.89 billion. The Tom Holland-fronted movie has been released in most parts of the world except in the biggest movie market in the world, China. ## During the covid-19 pandemic, it has been difficult for Hollywood to release its movies in China, especially Marvel movies. "Spider-Man: No Way Home" was supposed to release in China in January this year and things didn't work at that time. And now, the Chinese authorities have put one condition in front of makers in order to release "No Way Home" in China. ## According to reports, the Chinese authorities have asked Sony Pictures to remove The Statue of Liberty from "Spider-Man: No Way Home" if they wanted to release the film in China. This demand is something that will be very hard for Sony to accept as the entire climax action sequence in the movie takes place with a trio of Spider-Men swinging over and around Lady Liberty as they battle the supervillains. ## It needs to be noted that China has been a huge market for Spider-Man movies in the past. The previous two Spider-Man movies featuring Tom Holland had grossed $116 million and $200 million in China, respectively. Meanwhile, the CEO of Sony Pictures, Tom Rothman's top priority has been to release "No Way Home" in China, so it will be interesting to see how things proceed from hereon. ## Directed by Jon Watts, In "No Way Home", Parker asks Dr. Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) to use magic to make his identity as Spider-Man a secret again following its public revelation at the end of Far From Home. When the spell goes wrong, the multiverse is broken open which allows visitors from alternate realities to enter Parker's universe.## t stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man alongside Zendaya, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jacob Batalon, Jon Favreau, Jamie Foxx, Willem Dafoe, Alfred Molina, Benedict Wong, Tony Revolori, Marisa Tomei, Andrew Garfield, and Tobey Maguire.## Stay tuned...
