Here Is the Star-Cast Of Christopher Nolan's 'Oppenheimer'
Los Angeles, February 23 - Hollywood filmmaker, Christopher Nolan seems to be on a mission, a mission to bring the best of the best star cast for his next directorial, "Oppenheimer". Based on the life of J. Robert Oppenheimer, the theoretical physicists remembered as one of the fathers of the atom bomb, the movie stars Cillian Murphy of Peaky Blinders as the title hero. ## If you wondering Cillian Murphy is the only star, playing a prominent role in Nolan's film, then you are definitely missing all the interesting things and casting happening around the film. But, fear not and read on to know everything about the cast of the film (so far).## On Tuesday (Feb. 22), Universal Pictures revealed the first-look image from the film, a black-and-white portrait of Murphy in character as Oppenheimer, gazing into the camera with a cigarette dangling from his lips. The studio also announced that Emmy Award winner, Kenneth Branagh has boarded the project, the details about his role, however, are kept in check for now. ## Branagh is just the latest to join the impressive list of stars, set to appear in Oppenheimer. Earlier, "A Quiet Place" actress Emily Blunt was announced on board to play Oppenheimer's wife. Matt Damon roped in to play General Leslie Groves Jr., the director of the Manhattan Project, and Iron Man, Robert Downey Jr. is taking on the role of U.S. Atomic Energy Commission chairman Lewis Strauss.## Continuing the list, "Black Widow" star Florence Pugh cast as Jean Tatlock, a psychiatrist and member of the Communist party who had a romantic relationship with Oppenheimer. The rest of the cast includes Benny Safdie, Josh Hartnett, Michael Angarano, Rami Malek, Dylan Arnold, Dane DeHaan, Matthew Modine, David Krumholtz, and Alden Ehrenreich in other prominent roles. ## Some of the stars who will be appearing in "Oppenheimer", have already worked with Nolan in his previous movies. Branagh had starred in British directors Dunkirk and Tenet. Murphy, meanwhile, appeared in all three of Nolan's Batman films, as well as Dunkirk and Inception. Damon had a role in 2014's sci-fi epic Interstellar. ## "Oppenheimer", meanwhile, has just entered production, and will be released in theaters on July 21, 2023.
