'Dune 3' Gets An Official Title As Filming Begins

Los Angeles, July 10 - Director Denis Villeneuve is once again set to take the audience to Arrakis as he begins production for his much-awaited Dune 3. The final chapter of this sci-fi epic series will adapt Frank Herbert's Dune Messiah, but it hasn't taken its name as a title. ## Director Villeneuve shared a picture on social media and confirmed that the third movie has been titled Dune: Part 3. There were rumours that the upcoming film would keep the book's title as it is, but it is not the case. Instead, it follows the titling of its predecessor. ## The sequel to "Dune" (2021) and "Dune: Part Two" (2024), the film will cover the events of the 1969 novel Dune Messiah by Frank Herbert, the second novel in the Dune series. Other than the title, there were also rumours that the film would be entirely shot in IMAX, but the latest development confirms that it will have sequences filmed in IMAX, though it will not be filmed fully in the format. ## Dune: Part Three will see Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya reprising their roles as Paul Muad'Dib Atredies and Chani, and joining them from the previous films will be Jason Momoa and Florence Pugh, with Nakoa-Wolf Momoa and Ida Brooke featuring in the cast. ## The film will be released on December 18th, 2026. ## Stay tuned...

Box Office: Warner Bros. Pictures' 'A Minecraft Movie' Scores Record-Breaking Worldwide Opening Weekend

Los Angeles, April 6 - Hollywood has woken up again to banish the box office blues, thanks to Warner Bros. Pictures' video game adaptation A Minecraft Movie. ## Starring Jason Momoa, the fantasy adventure comedy film, based on the 2011 video game Minecraft, has shattered records at the domestic (North America) and worldwide box office to score the biggest opening weekend ever for a live-action video game adaptation title. ## Made on a budget of $150 million, Minecraft struck gold with a record-shattering $163 million opening domestically, the biggest for a video game adaptation, beating The Super Mario Bros Movie's $146.4 million. It scored the best 3-day opening weekend start since Deadpool and Wolverine in July last year. ## Overseas, the film minted a huge $150.70 million in the 5-day weekend over 74 markets, pushing total opening to $313.70 million, which is the best live-action and second-best video game adaptation, only under The Super Mario Bros Movie's $377 million.## The film has come much higher than even the most optimistic industry projection to stun the Hollywood trade. Warner Bros. Pictures had projected a $135 million start, now history with record-shattering numbers. It seems to be one of those movies that moviegoers have decided to watch, not caring about the reviews, as CinemaScore is B+. ## Stay tuned...

Box Office: 'Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom' Scored A Low Opening Weekend In India

Mumbai, December 25 - Warner Bros. Pictures superhero movie Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom has had a disappointing extended first weekend at the Indian box office. ## The movie was already carrying a low buzz, plus, it was up against Indian heavyweights this Christmas weekend. The only hope for the movie to have some sort of respite was to get positive word of mouth which didn't happen, resulting in a flop start at the box office.## The Jason Momoa-starrer sequel grossed approximately 12.80 crores in India in the first 4-days. The first movie "Aquaman" had grossed approx. 29 crores in its 3-day opening weekend in 2018, but here, "Aquamen 2" is unlikely to reach that mark in its lifetime run. ## Directed by James Wan, the film also had a soft start in its home market, North America, with just $28.1 million (235 crores gross) in the 3-day weekend, including premiers. Outside North America, "Aquaman 2" scored $80 million (665 crores), for $108.10 million (900 crores) globally in the opening weekend. ## China was the biggest market for the film, even bigger than North America, with $31.1 million opening weekend gross. Mexico was the third biggest contributor with $5 million, followed by Indonesia with $3.6 million, and France with $3.2 million. The film carries a budget of over $200 million. ## Stay tuned...

Vin Diesel Wants Robert Downey Jr. In The Next Fast and Furious Movie

Los Angeles, February 10 - Universal Pictures' action thriller "Fast & Furious" is one of the most loved movie franchises in the world. It has featured some of the biggest Hollywood names including Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, John Cena, Charlize Theron, Helen Mirren, Rita Moreno, and Jason Momoa, among others. ## Vin Diesel has played the lead role of Dominic Toretto in the previous films in the franchise and he now wants Robert Downey Jr. to join the Fast & Furious family. When asked by Variety about his dream casting at the 'Fast X' trailer premiere on Thursday night, Diesel gave RDJ's name without hesitation.## "Without telling you too much about what happens in the future, there's a character who is the antithesis of Dom who is promoting AI and driverless cars and a philosophy that with that goes your freedom", Diesel said when asked which role RDJ will play.## "There is somebody that believes that's future, and that's at direct odds with the Toretto mentality." However, when pressed about if he's pitched Downey Jr. the role yet, Diesel simply growled and said in a playful yet menacing tone, "How dare you ask me this question in front of all these people? I have pride and I have dignity".## The upcoming film in the franchise, "Fast X" also stars Jason Statham, Jason Momoa, Tyrese Gibson, Chris 'Ludacris' Bridges, John Cena, Jordana Brewster, Brie Larson, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sung Kang, Scott Eastwood, Michael Rooker, Daniela Melchior, Alan Ritchson and Cardi B.## "Fast X" is slated for May 19, 2023, in theaters worldwide. ## Stay tuned...

Henry Cavill And Gal Gadot Cameos Reportedly Scrapped From DC's 'The Flash'

Los Angeles, December 18 - It looks like Warner Bros. is ending its former DC Extended Universe (DCEU) to make way for the new DC Universe being created by DC Studios Co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran. ## The studio under the new CEOs is taking harsh calls to shape up its DC future for at least the next 8-10 years. James Gunn recently confirmed that Henry Cavill wouldn't be returning as Superman while the reports have also claimed that Warner Bros. has scrapped the 3rd installment of Gal Gadot's "Wonder Woman 3". ## Now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the cameos of Cavill as Superman and Gadot as Wonder Woman have also been scrapped in the upcoming 2023 superhero movie "The Flash" as the studio chose to not go forward with director Patty Jenkins' version of "Wonder Woman 3". ## It is said that Cavill had already shot his cameo but since he is not returning as Superman in the already announced "Man of Steal 2", his cameo no longer makes sense hence it has been cut in Ezra Millar's "The Flash", which is scheduled to release in June next year.## With Jason Momoa potentially leaving Aquaman behind to play Lobo and Patty Jenkins' version of Wonder Woman 3 no longer moving forward, it seems as though the DC Extended Universe that started with 2013's Man of Steel is coming to a close.## Stay tuned...
