Disney's Next 'Pirates of the Caribbean' Film Rumoured To Be In The Making With Johnny Depp

Los Angeles, February 18 - Disney has been trying to make the next film in the fantasy supernatural swashbuckler series, Pirates of the Caribbean for a long time but there hasn't been a concrete development on the same yet. ## One of the main reasons for the film getting delayed is Disney's highly publicized fallout following Johnny Depp's defamation trial against his ex-wife Amber Heard. The studio parted ways with Depp before the actor won the legal battle and proved himself innocent.## In one of the interviews last year, producer Jerry Bruckheimer said that the next film of the franchise could go in two different directions as there were two alternative scripts - one that could bring Depp back into the frame and another that would move in a different direction. ## It hasn't been that easy as Depp, after that infamous fallout, went on to say that he would never return to Disney no matter what. Well, it has been a long time since he said that and things might have eased between them, as per the latest rumours. ## According to the report by The DisInsider, Depp might be headlining the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean which the studio is planning to start rolling soon at one Hollywood sound stage. The website further stated that there is no timeline for when production will officially begin but heard that it would feature Depp in his returning role.## Meanwhile, a few year back, it was reported that Margot Robbie would star in a female-led reboot, which is not intended to be a spinoff, but a new story, with new characters set in the Pirates universe. Box Office: 'Inside Out 2' Becomes All-Time Highest-Grossing Animated Movie, Beating 'Frozen 2'

Mumbai, July 24 - Disney/Pixar has done it again as the studio's latest blockbuster Inside Out 2 has become the highest-grossing animated movie of all-time at the worldwide box office, beating Disney's Frozen 2. ## The sequel to Inside Out (2015), IO2 has grossed $1.46 billion (12245 crores), surpassing Frozen 2's $1.45 billion final gross on July 23. This is the 7th Disney movie and 5th for Pixar in the top 10 animated highest-grossing movies ever globally. ## In the process of outgrossing Frozen 2, the Inside Out sequel had surpassed Margot Robbie's Barbie ($1.44 billion) a day earlier to become the 13th highest-grossing movie ever, behind Tom Cruise's Top Gun Maverick ($1.49 billion). It can enter the top 10 movies in history by topping Top Gun 2, Furious 7 ($1.51 billion), and The Avengers ($1.51 billion). ## Directed by Kelsey Mann (in his feature directorial debut), Inside Out 2's domestic total stands at $601 million (5030 crores) while it has grossed $862 million (7215 crores) at the overseas box office. Mexico has been the biggest international market for the movie with $98.6 million. On its 4th Tuesday, IO2 has outgrossed Incredibles 2 ($1.24 billion) to become the biggest Pixar blockbuster globally. ## After surpassing Incredibles 2, Inside Out 2 has also become the 4th highest-grossing animated movie of all time, behind Frozen 2 ($1.45 billion), The Super Mario Bros. Mumbai, June 30 - Disney's Pixar mega-blockbuster Inside Out 2 has become the fastest animated movie ever to cross $1 billion at the worldwide box office, taking just 19 days to reach the milestone where only 52 movies could reach before. ## The summer blockbuster added another $165+ million worldwide in the 3rd weekend, pushing global telly to $1.015 billion (8460 crores), including $469.3 million (3910 crores) in North America and $545.5 million (4550 crores) through Sunday (19 days). ## IO2 is the 11th animated movie of all time to achieve the feat of $1 billion globally. It is also the first movie since Margot Robbie's Barbie last year to hit the milestone. Mumbai, June 16 - Hollywood almost sealed its first $1 billion grosser of the year after Disney/Pixar's animated coming-of-age film Inside Out 2 pulled off almost $300 million in its global opening weekend, smashing industry's projection by a long margin. ## Directed by Kelsey Mann, Inside Out 2 scored a mighty $294.2 million (2455 crores) opening weekend at the worldwide box office, pulling off the biggest opening of 2024 beating Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire ($195 million).
