Dana White Teases A Deal With Netflix, Says He Will Be Talking To Everybody When TV Deal Comes Up

Netflix has traditionally been known for scripted shows and documentaries, but lately, they've been venturing into the world of sports programming.## Their recent documentary series like "Formula 1: Drive to Survive" and "Last Chance U: Basketball" have been well-received. This success is underscored by their upcoming partnership with WWE to stream their flagship show "Raw" live, starting in 2025. This move marks a significant strategic shift for Netflix.## Furthermore, Netflix is set to globally stream a highly anticipated heavyweight boxing match between YouTuber Jake Paul and former undisputed champion Mike Tyson. This is a major milestone for the streaming giant. ## During a recent press conference, UFC president Dana White commented on the possibility of working with Netflix. ## "In my opinion, Netflix should have gotten into live sports a long time ago," White said. "They're a bit behind the curve, but they're a powerhouse. Look at the global reach they have... You guys saw that show Reacher I posted about? I love it! I generally hate TV and rarely watch shows or movies anymore, but Reacher is fantastic. ## The beauty is, I can watch it whenever I want - at home, next week, whenever. Live sports, like this event tonight, are different. You have to watch them as they happen. As these massive streaming services continue to grow, getting involved in live sports is inevitable. Let's just say, I'm sure we'll be talking to them when our TV deal is up for renewal, along with everyone else." ## The streamer is leaning more into sports, another tactic in boosting its audience and holding onto subscribers. While they haven't gone all-in on live sports yet, their recent moves suggest they see potential in the market." ## Stay Tuned To Sacnilk...

Dana White On Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul; 'I Don't Like To See Guys Fighting At A 31-Year Age Difference'

Legendary boxer Mike Tyson is scheduled to return to the ring for an exhibition match against YouTuber Jake Paul on July 20, 2024. The bout, which will be streamed on Netflix, has raised eyebrows in the fighting world, with UFC president Dana White expressing his reservations. ## White, a long-time friend of Tyson, has previously voiced his disapproval of the former heavyweight champion's return to boxing. During the UFC 299 post-fight press conference, White reiterated his concerns, highlighting the significant age difference between the 57-year-old Tyson and his 26-year-old opponent.## "He gets mad when I do this," White said, "but Mike's 60, man. I don't know what you guys think about it, who cares what I think, it's not my fight." ## Despite acknowledging their personal friendship and admiration for Tyson, White emphasized his worry: "I don't like to see guys fighting at... A 31-year age difference in that fight, you know." Whether Tyson can defy expectations and pull off a successful return against a much younger opponent remains to be seen. The fight has certainly generated buzz, but White's concerns echo a wider sentiment of unease surrounding the veteran boxer's comeback. ## Stay Tuned To Sacnilk...

Boxing Legend Mike Tyson To Face YouTube Star Jake Paul In Netflix Livestream

In a match-up that defies expectations, boxing icon Mike Tyson will step back into the ring to take on YouTube personality turned boxer Jake Paul this July on Netflix.## The exhibition bout, set for July 20th at AT&T Stadium in Texas, marks Netflix's foray into live sports broadcasting. This first-of-its-kind event follows a deal signed by Paul's company with the streaming giant last November.## Tyson, 58, last entered the ring in November 2020 for an exhibition match against Roy Jones Jr. – a full 15 years after his official retirement. More recently, he has dabbled in professional wrestling, most recently appearing for AEW in 2022. Despite this, Tyson has expressed a preference for working with WWE, even at a lower financial offer.## Meanwhile, Paul (27, 9-1) has carved a niche for himself in the boxing world. The former YouTube star has garnered fame by defeating past-their-prime MMA fighters seeking a lucrative payday, including Anderson Silva, Ben Askren, and Tyron Woodley.## Details surrounding the Tyson-Paul bout remain murky. It's unclear whether the fight will be a sanctioned professional event or an exhibition, and the number of rounds, glove size, and fighter payouts haven't been disclosed. ## This spectacle precedes WWE's own live streaming venture, scheduled to launch in January with Raw in the US and all WWE content internationally. ## It’s JAKE PAUL vs. MIKE TYSON — yes, really! — in a LIVE BOXING event at AT&T Stadium you won’t want to miss. Chris Jericho Reveals He Urged Tony Khan To Counter WWE NXT With AEW-Affiliated Celebrities

New York, 19 October - The October 10, 2023, clash between WWE NXT and AEW Dynamite will be remembered as one of the most significant days in the wrestling industry. It was an extraordinary evening that showcased the best of both WWE and NXT.## WWE NXT boasted a star-studded lineup featuring some of the company's biggest names, such as John Cena, The Undertaker, Cody Rhodes, Paul Heyman, and Asuka. Notably, main roster stars like LA Knight, Shotzi, and even Jade Cargill made surprise appearances in addition to the already advertised stars.## On the other hand, AEW had Adam Copeland as the central focus of the show, but it couldn't compete with the legendary appearances on NXT. In the ratings battle, NXT emerged as the clear winner, drawing a substantial viewership. AEW Dynamite garnered 609,000 total viewers with a 0.26 rating in the 18-49 demographic, while WWE NXT attracted 921,000 viewers with a 0.30 rating in the 18-49 demographic.## It's worth noting that Tony Khan was particularly active on social media to build anticipation for the show, but there was another individual working behind the scenes. Now, he has come forward to take a shot at WWE. ## Speaking to ‘The Messenger’, Chris Jericho warned ‘WWE shouldn’t get too far up your own a***’ about beating AEW in the ratings: ## “You know, you can only bring in Cena and Undertaker and Cody and everybody else so much because nobody wants to work on their secondary show all the time. And it was a fun little, 'Hey, F-you AEW.' I didn’t even really worry about it." ## Jericho also argued that "it was just an opportunity to stick it to us with stunt casting," and revealed he tried convincing Tony Khan to go ‘tit-for-tat’ with some AEW-affiliated celebrities: ## “I told Tony, 'Well, if you want to fire back, bring in Shaq and Snoop Dogg and those types of guys, Mike Tyson’ but Tony didn't do that. We relied on our show and our guys and our girls, and that's the way it's always been for us." ## Stay Tuned To Sacnilk...

WWE And UFC Merger Could Lead To Dream Crossover In EA UFC 5

Stamford, 7 September - In late October, EA UFC 5 will be released, marking the first installment in over three years. Notably, the game will feature iconic figures like Mike Tyson, Muhammad Ali, and Fedor Emelianenko.## Fightful, curious about potential crossovers, celebrities, and new additions, reached out to inquire. In the past, we've seen characters like Isaac Frost and Shaquille O'Neal make appearances. ## Given the ongoing merger discussions between WWE and UFC, Fightful also explored the possibility of WWE talent making their way into the game. Developers at EA UFC did express their interest in this idea, but they were informed that until the merger is finalized, it's unlikely to be extensively discussed. ## It's worth noting that WWE currently holds a licensing agreement with 2K for their video games. While several WWE superstars, including Brock Lesnar, Ronda Rousey, Shayna Baszler, Matt Riddle, and Bobby Lashley, have ventured into the world of UFC in the past, the gaming landscape may see changes in the future. ## Stay Tuned To Sacnilk...

Vijay Deverakonda's 'Liger' Fails Badly To Do Justice To The Massive Hype

Mumbai, August 30 - Vijay Deverakonda had a chance to include himself in the elite league of Telugu stars and could have extended Tollywood's dominance at the box office with his sports action drama, Liger, but things turned out otherwise. ## The Puri Jagannadh-directed film was one of the most hyped Indian films of 2022 and it could have made big even with the mixed reception, but Alas!... it opened to one of the poorest responses in 2022 from audiences and critics which dismissed its chance to score big on the opening day itself. ## "Liger" took the biggest opening for Vijay Deverakonda's film, but from the second day onwards, the movie crashed badly and couldn't grow further, even on Sunday. The movie had a rare chance to hold on to the lower level on weekdays, but even that didn't happen as it scored approx. 1.40 crores on Monday for all languages and officially becomes one of the biggest disasters of the year. ## Vijay Deverakonda promoted the film aggressively across the country and it looked like the movie will become a big blockbuster. The advance booking was also excellent but what happened next is there for everyone to see. It has so far grossed approx. 50 crores and will be wrapped up under 70 crores worldwide. ## The performance of Vijay Deverakonda got praise but it was Jagannadh's writing and direction that led the entire efforts of the team to go in vain. Critics are claiming it is the worst Puri Jagannadh film ever and the box office numbers also suggest the same. ## Karan Johar's Dharma Production produced the film in association with Puri Connects. It also stars Ananya Pandey as the female lead alongside Ramya Krishnan and Ronit Roy in key roles. Former American boxer, Mike Tyson plays a cameo role, making his Indian film debut. ## Stay tuned...

Vijay Deverakonda Opens Up On Boycott Liger Twitter Trends

Mumbai, August 23 - It seems everything which is associated with the largest Indian film industry Bollywood is being boycotted by social media warriors, and the latest film to face the wrath of social media is Vijay Deverakonda's Liger, which is more of a Telugu movie but has a Bollywood connection too. ## The Telugu version of "Liger" is unlikely to get affected by the #BoycottLiger trend as Telugu audiences are not caring about this silly trend either. The Hindi version of the film might get affected by this trend, however, Vijay Deverakonda is not at all worried about it and said that he has seen enough of this in his career so far. ## "I have struggled a lot to reach here", VD said during a promotional tour of his upcoming movie. "I fought for money and respect. I also fought to get work. Before the release of my first film, I didn't have much money and I even worked free of cost".## Recalling his early days in the industry, Vijay Deverakonda said, "Many people opposed me at the time of the release of my film Arjun Reddy. But it became successful. I faced all and now I am not scared. Now, I make movies for people. Some drama is much needed and I am ready to fight".## Meanwhile, irrespective of the boycott trend, "Liger" is carrying a very good buzz among moviegoers and is set to open big at the box office, especially in the Telugu version. Even though the Hindi version is looking to open low as of now, it can be the most productive in the long run if received well by the audience. ## Directed by Puri Jagannadh and producer by Dharma Productions and Puri Connects, "Liger" also stars Ananya Pandey as the female lead along with Ramya Krishnan, and Ronit Roy in key roles with former American professional boxer Mike Tyson playing a cameo role. The film will hit theaters on August 25 in Hindi and Telugu along with the dubbed versions of Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam languages. ##
