Box Office: Vikram Takes Second Biggest Opening For A Tamil Movie of 2022

Chennai, June 4 - Legendary Kamal Haasan's action thriller "Vikram" has set the box office on fire and takes the second-biggest opening for a Tamil movie in 2022. With sky-high expectations, the Lokesh Kanagaraj-directed movie set all-time record for Kamal Haasan. For the record, "Vikram" scored Rs. 32.05 crores net (37.50 crores gross) on the first day. This includes 29.00 crores in Tamil, followed by 2.80 crores in Telugu and 25 lakh in Hindi version. Produced by RKFI, "Vikram" is behind only Thalapathy Vijay's "Beast" which scored 57.40 crores gross on the first day. Ajith Kumar's "Valimai" made 37.10 crores gross. Meanwhile, in the home state, Tamil Nadu, the Kamal Haasan-starrer is the 3rd biggest in 2022. It minted 23.10 crores gross, behind 32.50 crores of "Beast" and 29.60 crores of "Valimai". However, "Vikram" is expected to beat both the movies in long run in Tamil Nadu to become the biggest Tamil grosser of the year. The word of mouth is super strong for "Vikram" and it is projected to score a huge opening weekend. Kamal Haasan Confirms His Next Film After 'Vikram'; Also Gives Update On Shankar's 'Indian 2'

Chennai, June 3 - Legendary Kamal Haasan returned to the action with Lokesh Kanagaraj-directed "Vikram", which has taken a massive opening in Tamil Nadu. The movie got excellent reviews and the word of mouth from the audience is also super positive, which is expected to lead the movie to record the biggest opening weekend of 2022 for a Tamil movie. ## Meanwhile, the iconic actor has already locked his next film after "Vikram". During a recent interview with Pinkvilla, Kamal Haasan confirmed that his next movie is with Mahesh Narayanan, who won appreciation with Fahadh Faasil's political thriller, "Malik". ## "I have a commitment with Mr. Mahesh Narayanan. He began his career with me as a cinematographer and editor. We seem to understand each other and I have completed a script for me. We are tweaking it a bit and plan to hit the floors by July end, early August", said the actor. ## Kamal Haasan was supposed to complete director Shankar's "Indian 2". It has already been shot around 40%, but the shoot was eventually put on hold due to budget issues and multiple other problems. The actor confirmed that the movie will happen as it is not shelved. ## "We had so many things coming in between, apart from the fact that it's a very big film. We had COVID, we had an accident on the set where people died. It's so unnerving but we continued. I run a white elephant called Raaj Kamal Films and Mr. Shankar runs a company called S Productions. These are the white elephants that we need to feed, so we go out and work", he added. ## "Indian 2" is a vigilante action thriller that is the sequel to the 1996 film. Chennai, June 3 - Superstar Kamal Haasan returned to the big screen after a long time with the action thriller "Vikram". Box Office: Don Becomes Sivakarthikeyan's Biggest Grosser Ever

Chennai, May 29 - Tamil summer blockbuster, Don has become the highest-grossing film ever for actor Sivakarthikeyan whose rise over the years has been phenomenal. After scoring his first 100 crores grosser in the form of Doctor in October last year, Siva has done it again, and this time with much more ease. ## Directed by debutante Cibi Chakaravarthi, "Don" has so far grossed approx. 105 crores worldwide through the third Saturday. Chennai, May 28 - Legendary Kamal Haasan's long-awaited Vikram is finally releasing this Friday and the makers are readying for the big day. Raaj Kamal Films International, the production house headed by Kamal Haasan, has warned websites against pirating the movie and is on high alert to stop such development. ## The Madras High Court restricted Internet Service Providers (ISP) and over 1000 websites from unauthorized screening or copying of "Vikram", and now, RKFI has communicated to all the Internet Service Providers and sites that stringent legal action would be taken if the movie is copied or transmitted.## Madras High Court judge, Justice Saravanan had, on a petition filed by R. Murali Krishnan of Raaj Kamal Films International, restrained 29 ISPs including BSNL, Vodafone idea, Airtel, and Reliance Jio, and 1308 websites from unauthorized copying or transmission of "Vikram", the complete movie or in parts.## "Vikram" is one of the most awaited movies of 2022 and RKFI is worried that if the movie is copied or reproduced, it would amount to major financial losses.
