Mumbai, September 9 - Sunny Deol-fronted Gadar 2: The Katha Continues takes one step closer to Shah Rukh Khan's "Pathaan" as far as the Indian box office is concerned.## The period action drama film, directed by Anil Sharma, has crossed SS Rajamouli's mega blockbuster "Baahubali 2 The Conclusion" to become the second highest Hindi net collection scorer of all-time. BB2 had scored 510.99 crores net in Hindi, which is still the highest collection ever in the dubbed version in India. ## At the time of writing this piece, Gadar 2 has topped BB2 Hindi collection, and is now left behind only Pathaan which scored a little over 524 crores net in Hindi earlier this year. The Sunny Deol-starrer movie has slowed down after the release of Shah Rukh Khan's "Jawan", but it is still in the race to cross Pathaan. ## Gadar 2 was made in the budget of around 70 crores, and as things stand today, it is one of the most profitable Indian movies of all-time. Mumbai, September 9 - It's raining blockbusters at the Indian box office, and the latest to join the list is superstar Shah Rukh Khan's action thriller Jawan which has simply taken things to the next level. Directed by Atlee Kumar, Jawan is course to emerge one of the biggest blockbusters of Indian cinema. ## The movie had a historic opening of 129.60 crores worldwide, which is the highest ever opening for a Bollywood movie of all-time, despite being a mid-week release (Thursday). On its second day, which was a proper working day everywhere, Jawan held extremely well and scored another around 110 crores worldwide, taking total collection to around 240 crores in two days.## The first two days of Jawan has already hinted what is ahead of it, especially with the kind of critics reviews and audience word of mouth it is carrying. The first Saturday and Sunday will prove to be the biggest days of its run, and it is very likely to top 500 crores worldwide gross in the extended 4-days weekend and will become (most likely) the second back-to-back 500 crores weekend opener for Shah Rukh Khan. ## The King Khan's last movie, spy action thriller Pathaan was a Wednesday day release during the Republic Day weekend this year. Mumbai, September 8 - After the record-breaking opening day, Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan put up a fantastic hold on its second day which was actually a working day. The first day was a partial holiday due to Krishna Janmashtami which pushed the collection to some extra crores. ## The movie scored a drop on the morning shows on the second day/first Friday but picked up excellently in the evening and night shows as it is looking at, at least 47 crores net collection in Hindi depending on the size of drop in the smaller centers.## Jawan also hold well in Tamil and Telugu versions as estimates suggest 5-6 crores net for all-India 53+ crores net second day. The overall drop today is around 25-30% from the opening day which is a fantastic hold. The total collection of the movie reached around 128 crores net, including at least 112.50 crores in Hindi in two days.## The advance booking for Saturday/third day is huge and the third day collection could be around 65 crores net again in all versions before Sunday pushes collection further. The movie has beaten the previous record SRK's "Pathaan" which was released earlier this year.## The Atlee Kumar's directorial movie set the box office on fire on the first day with theaters reported houseful boards all over the country. In Hindi, the movie scored a gigantic 65.50 crores net on the opening day, which is an all-time record in Hindi, beating "Pathaan" (55 crores net).## The Tamil and Telugu version of the movie scored 9 crores net combined, and allied with the Hindi collection, "Jawan" scored 74.50 crores net (90 crores gross) opening day. Mumbai, September 8 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar's A-rated social comedy drama film OMG 2 has emerged as big box office hit at the domestic as well as overseas. Directed by Amit Rai, the movie has already crossed the 200 crores gross mark at the global box office, and now, it is heading to 150 crores domestic net collection.## OMG 2 had a good 4th week despite the heavy competition as it scored approximately 7.40 crores net, dropping just around 52% from the third week which is very good hold. This takes the total collection to around 149.25 crores net in 28 days and it could add another 1-2 crores more to take its total past 150 crores mark.## The film dropped heavily on the last day (4th Thursday) of the 4th week due to the arrival of Shah Rukh Khan-fronted "Jawan" which took most the screens away of the movie, plus the holdovers are also performing really well.
