Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jawan' Advance Booking Hits Record 10 Crores In 24-Hours

Mumbai, September 2 - After the exceptional success of Pathaan, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is coming to set the screens on fire again, this time with action thriller Jawan.## Directed by Atlee Kumar, Jawan is easily the most hyped Bollywood movie in the recent times and this has been proved on the opening day of its advance booking commencement. As soon as the advances opened yesterday (September 1), tickets started selling like hot cakes and as things stand currently, the movie has recorded an all-time highest pre-sales for any Bollywood movie in the first 24-hours.## The advance booking of the film has crossed 10 crores gross (10.10 crores) collection with around 305K tickets sold in the first 24-hours for the opening day. In the three national chains (PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis), the movie has sold approximately 165K tickets which is an all-time record in the first 24-hours, beating SRK's Pathaan record of 117K tickets in PIC.## If the pace continues, the advance booking of Jawan will easily be the highest ever in Hindi. SS Rajamouli's Baahubali 2 has the record of selling highest tickets in PIC for the opening day with 650K tickets, and this record, looks like will be broken by Jawan.## Jawan is produced by SRK's Red Chillies Entertainment. It tells the story of a person who sets out to rectify the wrongs in society with help from a group of women. Mumbai, September 1 - Director Rajkumar Hirani is presently busy in the post-production work of highly-awaited comedy drama film "Dunki" starring superstar Shah Rukh Khan. The movie is getting ready to release on Christmas this year and it will be Hirani's first film since mega blockbuster "Sanju" (2018).## The maverick filmmaker will next be working on a biopic of Independent India's first cricket captain, Lala Amarnath. Now, according to Pinkvilla, superstar Aamir Khan and Ranbir Kapoor are the top contenders to headline this mega project as Hirani wants to make this either of them.## It is said that Aamir Khan has been approached to play Lala Amarnath. The actor has liked the script and shown his interest in doing this. If he comes on board, it will his third collaboration with the Hirani after "3 Idiots" and "PK". In case Aamir Khan passes it up, the filmmaker will go to Ranbir, who headlined his last blockbuster, Sanju. The trailer is filled with many mass moments, showcasing SRK in never before seen avatar. ## In the first 24-hours, "Jawan" trailer scored over 102 million across social media platforms, including around 33 million views on YouTube and around 25 million views on SRK's Instagram handle in all languages. Mumbai, September 1 - Sunny Deol-fronted mega blockbuster Gadar 2: The Katha Continues scored an excellent third week at the domestic box office. The movie witnessed a drop of just around 52% from the second week which is a phenomenal hold for massy front-loaded movie.## "Gadar 2" was benefited by Rakshabandhan festival as it scored 63.35 crores net collection in the third week. The movie is behind only SS Rajamouli's all-time blockbuster "Baahubali 2 The Conclusion" which scored the biggest third week in Hindi with 69.75 crores net. ## Top 50 Third Week Collection Hindi/Bollywood Movies## The sequel has reached 482.45 crores net collection after third week (21 days). By the 2nd of the 4th weekend or mostly on Monday, G2 will cross 500 crores net mark and will become only the third movie ever to hit this milestone in a single language in India. ## Superstar Shah Rukh Khan's "Pathaan", which is the highest net collection scorer movie ever in Hindi with 524.50 crores, scored 45.65 crores in its 3rd week which is the 5th highest of all-time. Mumbai, August 29 - Sunny Deol-fronted period action drama film Gadar 2: The Katha Continues continuing its heroic run and crossed 600 crores mark at the worldwide box office on its 18th day. It has become the second Indian movie of the year to achieve this milestone.## Directed by Anil Sharma, Gadar 2 has so far scored approximately 544 crores gross collection in India (460.65 crores net) while its overseas collection is excellent 61 crores through 3rd Monday (18 days). The worldwide box office collection of the movie has reached 104.60 crores to-date.## Gadar 2 has become the 12th Indian movie and 7th outright Bollywood movie of all-time to top 600 crores worldwide gross. Post the covid-19 pandemic, it the 4th Indian movie and 2nd Bollywood film to reach this box office figure. ## Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar's social comedy drama OMG 2 also having a very good run despite competition and not-so mass friendly film. On its first Monday (18th day), it topped 200 crores gross mark at the global box office and becomes the first movie of Akshay since Sooryavanshi (2021) to achieve this feat.## In India, the Amit Rai's directorial movie has minted 161 crores gross while overseas, it has grossed around 39 crores so far. Mumbai, August 28 - August 2023 has turned out to be a historic month at the Indian box office with all films scoring well over 1000 crores net collection. This month particularly turned the tide for the Hindi film industry as it registered the biggest single-month net collection of all time in Hindi.## As of August 27, all the films have scored approximately 750 crores net collection in the Hindi language so far in the month of August. It surpassed the previous biggest single-month collection of 571 crores net, which came in April 2022 while the third biggest was 542 crores net in March 2022. ## So far, Sunny Deol-fronted "Gadar 2" is the biggest earning film in August with 456 crores net, followed by Akshay Kumar's "OMG 2" with 136 crores net, Karan Johar's directorial "Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani" with approximately 97 crores, and Ayushmann Khurrana's "Dream Girl 2" with 41 crores.
