Box Office: Adipurush Records A Very Low Second Week

Mumbai, June 30 - Director Om Raut's magnum opus "Adipurush", which was one of the most hyped films before release, has turned out to be an epic disappointment at the box office after it fell badly in the second week. ## The Prabhas-fronted film recorded a historic fall of over 90% in the second week and scored just approx. 22.50 crores net collection in all versions. The first-week collection of 260 crores net was itself underwhelming considering the excellent opening weekend of 221 crores net. ## The total net collection of the film currently stands at a little over 282 crores (333 crores gross) and it is likely to finish its run under 300 crores net which is disappointing. The collection of Hindi versions is approx. 145 crores net, followed by the Telugu version with approx. 130 crores. The other versions have contributed around 7 crores net. ## "Adipurush" also couldn't hold well at the overseas box office and has grossed approx. 54 crores so far. This takes the total worldwide gross collection of the movie to approx. 387 crores in two weeks. The movie has some competition going forward which could further make it difficult for the film to sustain. Mumbai, June 29 - Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani's musical romantic drama film "Satyaprem Ki Katha" has been released today on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, and as expected, it has taken a good start at the box office. ## The movie had a slow start in the morning shows but picked up well throughout the day due to the Eid holiday, plus, positive word of mouth. As per the early estimates, SPK has scored 9-9.50 crores net on its first day and might go a little higher which remains to see. ## The opening day collections are strong in multiplex chains while single screens remain low, which was expected as it is more of multiplex friendly film rather mass friendly. The critics' reviews and audience word of mouth are positive for the film which should ensure a good opening weekend. ## Meanwhile, Gippy Grewal-fronted Punjabi comedy film "Carry On Jatta 3" has a record-breaking opening day. The movie shattered the opening day record for a Punjabi title by a long margin and has set new standards for upcoming movies. ## "Carry On Jatta 3" has scored an estimated 4.30 crores net on opening day, which is by far the biggest start for a Punjabi movie, besting Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa's "Shadaa" which took the opening of 2.70 crores net in 2019. ## The movie gets the benefit of being the installment of the biggest Punjabi film franchise and the positive response further boosted its opening day collection. ## Stay tuned...

Mumbai, June 29 - Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani's much-awaited musical romantic drama film "Satyaprem Ki Katha" hits the big screen today. Directed by Sameer Vidwans and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, SPKK had its special screening yesterday in which it received a good response. ## "Satyaprem Ki Katha" is one of the films that is aimed at multiple audiences and this was clearly visible in the screen sharing and the advance booking sales. The movie has been released on over 2000 screens in India, with the majority of screens allotted at national multiple chains. ## The movie scored a decent advance booking for the opening day with over 70K tickets sold (block seats excluded) which is still one of the highest for a Bollywood movie in 2023. However, the majority of opening-day pre-sales were recorded in multiplex chains while the same is low in single screens which was expected. ## As far as the opening day is concerned and given the advance booking trend, "Satyaprem Ki Katha" is looking to score between 7-9 crores. However, a double-digit start can not rule out if the audience's word of mouth is positive as this can bring single screens into the picture. ## Even if the movie fails to reach a double-digit opening, it can still be termed as good if it opens in the expected lines of 7-9 crores. Now, according to Pinkvilla, the makers have locked Sujoy Ghosh to direct this action thriller flick. Ghosh is best known for his works in "Kahaani", "Kahaani 2" and "Badlaa". ## SRK and Sujoy Ghosh previously collaborated on Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu's "Badla" in the capacity of producer and director, respectively. The upcoming movie has been one of the most-anticipated ones of the duo and it is expected to start well at the box office.## The keenly-awaited film has been certified U/A by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with an approved runtime of 146 minutes (2 hours 26 minutes). It is said that Varun Dhawan and others in the core team felt that it won't be a correct move as Karan Johar's "Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani" releases on July 28. ## Varun Dhawan made his debut under Karan Johar's production with "Student of The Year" (2012) and share a special relationship with him. The movie is about a terrorist attack in which 76 CRPF Jawans and 8 poor villagers were killed in Chintalner village of Dantewada District of Bastar, Chhattisgarh in April 2010. ## The film's poster featured a forest in the middle of huge and ominous clouds of smoke after gunshots and a red flag. A rifle was also seen. The text on the poster read, "Hidden truth that will take the nation by a storm – Bastar".## Produced by Vipul Shah and Aashin A. Shah under the banner of Sunshine Pictures, "Bastar" will be released in theaters on April 5, 2024. Mumbai, June 26 - Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for his next release "Jawan" which is scheduled for September 7, 2023. The actor is expected to score another success with this Atlee's directorial after setting box office records with "Pathaan" which was released earlier this year. ## Apart from "Jawan", SRK also has Rajkumar Hirani's "Dunki" which is expected the wrap up the shoot soon as the movie is scheduled for December 2023 release. After Hirani's social comedy-drama film, SRK was supposed to start YRF's "Tiger vs Pathaan", but according to the latest reports, the actor will start a new film before that. ## According to Pinkvilla, SRK and his daughter Suhana Khan will headline an untitled film that will be produced by Red Chillies Entertainment in association with Siddharth Anand's Marflix. The pre-production work is said to have already commenced and it will be SRK's immediate next after "Dunki". The filming will commence in the last quarter of this year. ## The director's name has been kept under wraps for now. SRK will have an extended appearance much like what he did in "Dear Zindagi" which had Alia Bhatt in the lead role. The upcoming movie will mark the maiden collaboration between SRK and Suhana Khan who will make her theatrical debut with this.
