Box Office: 'Satyaprem Ki Katha' Scores A Big Jump On Its Second Saturday

Mumbai, July 9 - Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani's musical romantic drama film "Satyaprem Ki Katha" is heading for a healthy lifetime collection at the domestic box office. Despite being not a mass-friendly film, it has done well in the first week to enter the second weekend with a bang. ## After dropping just 5% on its second Friday for 2.85 crores net, the Sameer Vidhwans-directed flick scored a big jump of 66.67% on its second Saturday to collect 4.75 crores net. This takes the total net collection to 60.81 crores in 10 days. It is expected to score a further jump today and is likely to bring in 5.50 crores for the second-weekend collection of around 13 crores. ## SPK also has done decently at the overseas box office to score approx. 13 crores net (estimated). The worldwide collection of the movie currently stands at around 85 crores gross and it will soon enter the 100-crore gross club globally. ## The Sajid Nadiadwala production has been able to attract its target multiplex audiences, especially the youth which is loving this romantic saga. Mumbai, July 8 - Director Rajkumar Hirani's maiden film with superstar Shah Rukh Khan, "Dunki" is one of the hugely anticipated films in the making. It is a social comedy-drama film based on the rampant use of an illegal backdoor route called 'Donkey Flight' to immigrate to countries like Canada and the USA. ## "Dunki" is scheduled to release during the Christmas weekend this year and it is expected to be one of the biggest hits of Indian cinema. The movie is currently the post-production work and in between, the makers have already reportedly locked the non-theatrical rights of the film. ## It was recently reported that the non-theatrical rights of "Dunki" have been sold in a whopping amount of approx. 230 crores, and now, it has been revealed that the streaming rights alone have fetched 155 crores, making it the biggest post-theatrical OTT deal for an Indian movie in a single language. ## According to Bollywood Hungama, "Dunki" will be streaming on Jio Cinema after its theatrical release. "This is the biggest deal in the history of Indian Cinema for a film released in a single language. It has got a lot to do with the brand of Rajkumar Hirani coming together with the brand of Shah Rukh Khan", says the report. ## "Dunki" is a co-production of SRK's Red Chillies Entertainment with Rajkumar Hirani Films. Mumbai, July 8 - Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has been in talks with his director friend Sooraj Barjatya for their next films together. The filmmaker has been working on the script for a long time and it was recently reported that it might take a few more months to complete the entire script work. ## During this period, the superstar was also interested in a film offered by producer Karan Johar, but now, according to a report in Mid-Day, the "Dabangg" star has made up his mind and picked Barjatya's film that is reportedly titled "Prem Ki Shaadi". ## It is said that Salman loved the script when it was first narrated to him in 2020 but due to the pandemic, the development of the film got delayed. Now, the duo is set to take the movie on floors next month in August as the pre-production reportedly commenced last month. ## "Romantic dramas, set in a family, are a success at the box office today, as seen with Zara Hatke Zara Bachke and Satyaprem Ki Katha. Salman is fond of such stories, which is why he had immediately given his nod to Prem Ki Shaadi. However, finalizing the screenplay took time. The team began pre-production last month, setting the stage for an August shoot", reports Mid-Day. ## As reported earlier, "Prem Ki Shaadi" revolves around a nuclear family. It tells the journey of a couple, starting from their marriage, to raising their children and going strong till their old age. While Salman plays the title role, the leading lady will soon be finalized. The duo have discussed many ideas in the past and it seems, they finally have found one which is said to be a biopic drama film. The report states that even though the discussion between the two at present is at a nascent stage, it seems promising. ## Rajkumar Hirani is presently working on a social comedy-drama film "Dunki" starring superstar Shah Rukh Khan. Produced by Ronnie Screwvala's RSVP Movies, the movie will be released worldwide on October 20 this year on the occasion of Dussehra. ## "Tejas" is based on the landmark event in 2016 when the Indian Air Force became the country's first defense force to induct women into combat roles. It is about the courageous journey of an Indian Air Force pilot, Tejas Gill played the Kangana. ## The movie was originally scheduled for Dussehra 2022 release but has now been slated for the same festive weekend in 2023.
