Coolie No. 1 To Premiere On Amazon Prime Video During Diwali Weekend

Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan starrer upcoming movie, Coolie No 1 is all set to clash with Akshay Kumar's Laxmmi Bomb. As per the latest update on this comedy film, the makers are planning to release the film during the Diwali weekend and most probably on the 13th of November on Amazon Prime Video. Laxmi Bomb, however, will premiere on Disney+Hotstar on the 9th of November. ## With the covid-19 pandemic is around, filmmakers have been forced to take an OTT route due to uncertainty over the reopening of cinemas. However, the ongoing tensions in the film industry are all playing a major role in forcing them to take different platforms other than the theaters to release their films. ## According to a source quoted in Republic Bharat's report, before the film was about to get finalized with the streaming platform, Vashu Bhagnani had a long discussion with the heads of some of the national multiplex chains.## In the conversation, he requested them to give him a sizeable amount of advance or MG royalty and even asked for the remuneration of the threshold period of eight weeks from the date of a theatrical premiere for his film Coolie No. 1. However, in return to his plea, the multiplex chains expressed their helplessness in advancing money to Bhagnani or 'acquiring' his film on an MG royalty basis.## Coolie No 1 is an upcoming comedy film that is a remake of a 1995 film with the same name starring Govinda and Karisma Kapoor in the prominent roles. The latest version of the film is directed by David Dhawan and produced by Vashu Bhagnani who also teamed up for the original film. The film stars popular faces of the Hindi film industry including Varun Dhawan, Sara Ali Khan, Paresh Rawal, Shikha Talsania, and Javed Jaffrey.## Apart from Coolie No. 1, the Amazon Prime Video has also reportedly bagged Rajkummar Rao and Nushrat Bharucha's Chhalaang along with Amitabh Bachchan and Sairat fame Akash Thosar and Rinku Rajguru' Jhund that is a sports drama film.## Stay tuned...

Raghava Lawrence, who had helmed the original, will be making his Hindi directorial debut with this one. The film also stars Kiara Advani, Tusshar Kapoor, Sharad Kelkar, Ashwini Kalsekar, and many others.## Earlier, on June 29, Disney+Hotstar had signed a multi-million deal and begged 7 Bollywood movies including Laxmi Bomb, and Ajay Devgn starrer Bhuj. Laxmi Bomb was supposed to premiere during the month of September, however, due to IPL and some other reasons, the OTT giant decided against it. ## With the release date now confirmed, Akshay Kumar's Sooryavanshi will now clash with Laxmmi Bomb on Diwali. The recce and pre-production work is in progress right now, and Adi plays the titular character of Om in the film".## As per the report, Ahmed Khan was himself wanted to direct the film but due to his Heropanti 2 commitment with Tiger Shroff in lead, he has decided to bankroll 'Om' instead of directing it which will go on floors around Diwali this year.## Talking about the leading lady, the source confirmed that Tara Sutaria has liked the script and all set to pair with Aditya Roy Kapur in this action entertainer. "The leading lady is Tara Sutaria. She was to work with Adi in Ek Villain 2, however, after Adi's exit, the pair couldn't be explored there. But the makers of Om felt that Adi and Tara would bring forward a fresh dynamic in the story".## As reported earlier, the audience was excited and looking forward to seeing the fresh pairing of Aditya and Tara in Mohit Suri's 'Ek Villain 2'. Veteran actress and Samajwadi Party MP, Jaya Bachchan has slammed the people who have been trying to defame the Bollywood film industry since the sad demise of a brilliant actor Sushant Singh Rajput.## Jaya Bachchan spoke about an alleged "conspiracy to defame the film industry" on the second day of the Monsoon Session in Parliament. She had given a Zero Hour notice in Rajya Sabha, which can be raised for critical matters with the approval of the Speaker. ## "People in the entertainment industry are being flogged by social media. People who made their names in the industry have called it a gutter. I completely disagree. I hope that the government tells such people not to use this kind of language", Jaya said on Tuesday, according to Hindustan Times. ## Previously, actor Kangana Ranaut had called the film industry a "gutter" and alleged that 99% of the people who work in it have been procuring and consuming drugs. ## "Just because there are some people, you can't tarnish the image of the entire industry. I am ashamed that yesterday one of our members in Lok Sabha, who is from the film industry, spoke against it. It is a shame", she added, referring to comments made by BJP MP Ravi Kishan on Monday (September 14). ## "A conspiracy is being hatched to destroy the country's youth and our neighboring countries are adding to it. The smuggling of drugs from Pakistan and China is being carried out every year. It is being brought via Punjab and Nepal. Drug addiction is in the film industry too. Several people have been apprehended. The NCB has been doing very good work. I urge the central government to take strict action against the culprits soon. Coming as a significant development, the names of Sara Ali Khan, Rakul Preet Singh, and Simone Khambatta have apparently emerged in the Narcotics Control Bureau's (NCB) probe into the drugs angle surrounding the mysterious death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, official sources said here on Monday, as reported by IANS. ## Though NCB Deputy Director K.P.S. Malhotra confirmed the names of the above celebrities, he denied media speculation of the agency having prepared a so-called 'hit-list' of 25 Bollywood personalities in connection with the probe as it was reported by a few news channels. ## Yesterday, the NCB officials had denied that Rhea named Sara, Rakul, and Simone during the probe but within 24 hours, the officials came up with a new twist and said that the names of these 3 came out in the investigation. ## According to Zee News, Rhea in her confession told NCB that Sara Ali Khan had accompanied Sushant Singh Rajput and other friends to Thailand. It is to be noted that Rhea while speaking to a news channel, had stated that Sushant used to live his life like a king-size and had spent Rs 70 lakh on an all-boys' trip to Thailand. ## Over a dozen persons have been arrested by the NCB so far, including Sushant’s ex-girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik, and several drug peddlers, narco-dealers, and suppliers.## While Rhea, Showik, and others have been sent to judicial custody, some of the drug peddlers have been remanded to NCB custody.## Stay tuned...
