Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan To Reunite After 32 Years

Chennai, June 11 - The stalwarts of Indian cinema, Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan are all set to reunite for a feature film after 32 long years. The duo has worked together in films like "Hum", "Andhaa Kaanoon", and "Geraftaar" to deliver memorable performances. ## According to the latest reports, the icons of Indian cinema will be coming together for a film, to be directed by "Jai Bhim" director TJ Gnanavel and to be produced by Lyca Productions. The movie will reportedly feature Rajinikanth in the lead role while Big B will play an important role in "Thalaivar 170". ## The official announcement regarding the casting of Amitabh Bachchan is yet to be made but reports say that the legendary actor is very much a part of the film. The last time Rajinikanth and Big B were seen together was in "Hum" which was released in 1991. ## Rajinikanth is currently shooting for "Lal Salaam" in which he is playing a cameo role. The movie is directed by his daughter Aishwarya Dhanush and is produced by Lyca. Mumbai, June 10 - After a very good hold on the second Friday, Zara Hatke Zara Bachke scores a big outstanding jump of around 60% today, on its second Saturday. ## The second Saturday collection of Zara Hatke Zara Bachke is similar to the first Friday number as it collects an estimated 5.50 crores net today. The final number may vary by a few lacs here and there but the movie has done really well to put up such collections. ## The big jump in the collection today takes the total cume of ZHZB to over 46 crores net and it will be breaching the 50 crores net by tomorrow, the second Sunday. It will become only the 6th Bollywood movie of the year to reach 50 crores net mark. ## ZHZB is looking to finish over 60 crores net mark and this should be easy from hereon. It has another 5 days left to perform before Prabhas-fronted Adipurush arrives on June 16. Mumbai, June 10 - Sunny Deol-fronted all-time classic blockbuster Gadar: Ek Prem Katha makes a good return to the cinemas with a good start at the box office. The period action drama film was originally released in 2001 and became the highest-grossing Indian film. ## After more than two decades, the makers are coming up with its sequel Gadar 2: The Katha Continues which is scheduled to release on August 11 this year. Ahead of the release, the makers have re-released the first film in select theaters to increase the hype further for the sequel.## Over the years, "Gadar" has gained cult status with immense repeat viewership on television, and the re-release has confirmed this further by earning approx. 30 lacs on the opening day on limited screens. ## The movie could have easily taken a bigger start with a proper wide release, but still, the response from the audience is encouraging. It is easily one of the most-anticipated and potential blockbuster Bollywood movies that will also be released in dubbed versions of other languages. ## Until earlier this year, "Animal" was the only big-budget film scheduled for Independence Day weekend release before Sunny Deol-fronted Gadar 2 - The Katha Continues makers decided to take on the gangster drama at the box office and confirmed to hit screens on the same day as "Animal". ## "Gadar 2", which is the sequel to the all-time blockbuster "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha" (2001), is itself one of the most-awaited films of this year. Just when it was looking like only "Animal" and "Gadar 2" will release during Independence Day weekend, Akshay Kumar made things further complicated by announcing the release date of his social comedy-drama OMG 2.## "OMG 2", which has been in production for quite some time now, announced an August 11 release, confirming a three-way epic battle at the Hindi box office. There were rumors that "Animal" will get postponed as some work is reportedly pending, however, the latest reports have confirmed that it is very much on for an August 11 debut. Hyderabad, June 10 - After back-to-back big successes, veteran Telugu actor Nandamuri Balakrishna returns with another solid mass entertainer titled Bhagavanth Kesari which is the actor's 108th film. ## The teaser of "Bhagavanth Kesari", directed by Anil Ravipudi, was launched today on the occasion of NBK's 63rd birthday. The 1-minute and 24 seconds promo consists of mass elements with Balakrishna making a powerful appearance in his mass look and dialogue delivery. ## The teaser begins with the introduction of the lead antagonist of the film played by Arjun Rampal with chest-thumping dialogues by NBK in the background, explaining the difference between the arrogance of a ruler and a stubborn person. ## NBK introduces himself as a son of the jungle named Nelakonda Bhagavanth Kesari and his solid Hindi is one of the major highlights of the teaser. Toward the end of the teaser, Balakrishna says a powerful dialogue, "Ee Peru Shaana Yellu Yaaduntadi (You'll remember this name for a very long time)" which has raised excitement. ## Thaman S, who scored music for NBK's previous two movies "Akhanda" and "Veera Simha Reddy", has composed for "Bhagavanth Kesari" as well, and once again he hits the bull's eye with this powerful background sound. Mumbai, June 9 - Maddock Films' comedy drama Zara Hatke Zara Bachke is heading for a healthy lifetime box office collection after putting a strong hold on its second Friday. ## The movie has a good first-week collection of 37.35 crores net and according to the trends, it scored a marginal jump on the second Friday over Thursday collection with an estimated around 3.30 crores net collection. This takes the total collection to over 40.50 crores net in 8 days. ## The superb second Friday hold (-40% vs first Friday) has confirmed the film's hit status and now, it has shot at crossing the 50 crores net mark by the second Sunday (10 days). The lack of competition this weekend will benefit ZHZB as far as lifetime collection is concerned.## From hereon, ZHZB should collect at least 17-20 crores more to finish around 60 crores net lifetime collection. Mumbai, June 9 - The countdown has begun for Prabhas-fronted "Adipurush" which releases on June 16 worldwide in multiple languages in 2D, 3D, and IMAX. The movie directed by Om Raut has been one of the most anticipated ones in India and is expected to take a bumper start at the box office. ## With less than one week remaining before the release, the makers are gearing up to open the advance booking of the movie on June 11, Sunday, according to Pinkvilla. There is a huge curiosity among moviegoers for the movie that is expected to score one of the biggest advance sales for an Indian movie post the covid-19 pandemic. ## "Adipurush" is a Pan-Indian movie, shot in Hindi and Telugu languages and dubbed in Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. It is a musical romantic comedy film that also stars Kiara Advani under the direction of Sameer Vidwans and producer Sajid Nadiadwala. ## Meanwhile, even before the release of "Satyaprem Ki Katha", Kartik kick-started the shooting of his next film that is with director Kabir Khan and producer Sajid Nadiadwala. According to Mid-day, the action drama film went on floors on June 7 in Joker Maidan in Film City, Goregaon. ## It is said that Kabir Khan has planned a 10-day schedule during which the movie's action set pieces will be shot. ## "The shooting began with a hand-to-hand combat sequence featuring Kartik. The schedule has been planned in such a way that the major outdoor fight scenes will be shot before the monsoons hit the city. Kochi, June 8 - Sree Gokulam Movies has acquired theatrical rights to another Tamil biggie, superstar Rajinikanth's Jailer to distribute across the Kerala state. ## One of the leading distribution studios in Kerala, Gokulam Movies recently grabbed Thalapathy Vijay's highly-awaited Pan India movie "Leo" at an all-time record price of 16 crores. Vijay has a huge following in Kerala which helped the makers to crack such a big deal. ## Now, superstar Rajinikanth's action-comedy "Jailer" will also be released by the same studio, according to the Kerala trade source AB George. The studio has reportedly paid a good amount of 5.50 crores for the same as a minimum guarantee royalty. ## "Jailer" is directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Sun Pictures.
