John Wick: Chapter 4 Creates New Records In The Franchise

Los Angeles, March 25 - John Wick franchise is soaring to new highs, not just on the box office front but in every way possible. The Keanu Reeves-fronted action thriller film is still in the early days but it is already proving to be an unstoppable force. ## Directed by Chad Stahelski, "John Wick 4" has created some new records in this blockbuster franchise which is growing with each passing film. The movie scored the biggest opening day in the franchise, grossing a spectacular $29.40 million (including $8.90 million Thursday previews) at the domestic (North America) box office.## The $29.40 million opening day is approx. $7 million higher than the third installment which minted $22.60 million in 2019. The first two films did $5.40 million and $11 million in 2014 and 2017, respectively. The opening weekend collection of the latest outing is estimated to gross $70+ million, which will be the record in the series.## Since the film's premiere a couple of weeks ago, the critics are showering high praise, calling it one of the best action films ever. It is now the highest-rated John Wick film on Rotten Tomatoes with a critics' score of 95% (as of now). "John Wick: Chapter 2" and "John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum" have been rated with 89% scores each while the first film scored 86%. ## The movie is also bonding very well with the audiences, receiving a record "A" CinemaScore which is rare for an R-Rated film. Mumbai, March 25 - The 2015's comedy-drama Bajrangi Bhaijaan is considered a landmark film in superstar Salman Khan's career. It not only became his biggest blockbuster but also won him critical acclaim. ## Directed by Kabir Khan, the film featured Kareena Kapoor as the female lead and child actress Harshali Malhotra in a prominent role. In 2021, writer V. Vijayendra Prasad revealed that he was writing the sequel of "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" and he would soon be able to complete it. ## Salman Khan himself confirmed that he would be returning to the sequel and he revealed that it was titled "Pavan Putra Bhaijaan". Now, according to Bollywood Hungama, Salman has brought Pooja Hegde as the female lead, replacing Kareena Kapoor. ## The report says that Pooja Hegde's character details are not known yet whether she will play the same character that Kareena played in the first film. Ajay Devgn Talks About 'Bholaa' Cinematic Universe

Mumbai, March 25 - Actor-filmmaker Ajay Devgn's action thriller Bholaa is getting ready for its worldwide release on March 30. The much-awaited movie is the adaptation of the Tamil hit "Kaithi" which was directed by Lokesh Kangaraj and featured Karthi in the lead role. ## "Kaithi" was part of Kangaraj's cinematic universe which also includes Kamal Haasan's "Vikram". Now, with "Bholaa", Ajay Devgn is set to turn this into a franchise that will be completely different from Lokesh's version. ## During a recent interview with Variety, Devgn revealed that Bholaa ends on a note which will give the feel of the second part. He said that in the upcoming parts, new characters will be introduced and some of them might be revealed in "Bholaa" itself.## "Bholaa ends at a note where you will feel that there is going to be a part two, it would not be a similar part two like 'Vikram' or an adaptation. Because we will be bringing in different kinds of new characters. So yes, it will be a continuation, that's the approach to it", said Devgn.## Also starring Tabu, "Bholaa" is Devgn's 4th directorial and he promised never-before-seen action in this. "It's a big scale film, it's an action film, and the kind of visuals and action we have, we thought that we'd enhance the whole drama and action sequences and the tension. Hyderabad, March 25 - Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu's film with director Trivikram Srinivas is unlikely to release on initially announced August 11, 2023.## Tentatively titled SSMB28, the movie is currently being filmed at a brisk pace and was on track for its August release. However, over the last few days, there have been rumors doing rounds about the postponement after Megastar Chiranjeevi's "Bholaa Shankar" got announced for Independence Day week release. ## It is said that the makers are now looking to release "SSMB28" either in October on the occasion of Dussehra or Sankranthi 2024. Mahesh Babu is said to be in the favor of Sankranthi's 2024 release. The last film of Mahesh Babu to release on Sankranthi was "Sarileru Neekevvaru" (2020) and it was a blockbuster with a worldwide gross collection of over 200 crores.## Produced by Harika and Hasini Creations, "SSMB28", however, will have to face stiff competition if it arrives on Sankranthi 2024. The Keanu Reeves-fronted action thriller has taken the biggest start of the franchise at the domestic (North America) as well as the overseas box office.## The Chad Stahelski-directed flick opened to an excellent $8.9 million Thursday previews which is just $150K less than the combined previews collection of the first three John Wick movies. The movie is tracking $70+ million opening weekend, which will be the highest in the franchise. ## Impressively, each of the John Wick films has substantially increased its opening weekend release after release. The original "John Wick" (2014) opened with $14 million, followed by 2017's "John Wick: Chapter 2" ($30.4 million) and 2019's "John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum" ($56.8 million).## Meanwhile, the movie has also taken a surprisingly good start at the Indian box office, scoring an estimated 6+ crores gross in all languages. The movie had its paid previews on Thursday in which it collected around 3 crores gross.## The first three John Wick films did a combined lifetime business of around 20 crores and here, "John Wick 4" is on track to surpass those figures in the opening weekend itself. The producer was reportedly seen attending the Muhurat ceremony of Jr. NTR's film with Koratala Siva "NTR 30" on Thursday which sparked rumors. ## According to Pinkvilla, the producer has been discussing a big Pan India project with Jr. NTR. The duo of PSPK and Harish revived the project with the title "Ustaad Bhagat Singh" late last year. ## Now, as per the latest reports, the much-awaited film will commence filming on April 5 this year. It was reported that "Ustaad Bhagat Singh" is a remake of the Tamil title "Theri", however, director Harish Shankar recently revealed that it is a fresh story and not a remake. ## The movie will be produced by Mythri Movie Makers and the music will be composed by Rockstar DSP. It marks the second collaboration of Pawan Kaylan and Harish Shankar.
