Phars Films Bags Overseas Rights of Thalapathy Vijay's 'Leo' In All-Time Record Price
Chennai, April 4 - Thalapathy Vijay's gangster action drama Leo with director Lokesh Kanagaraj has turned blockbuster even before the release. The makers have reportedly sold the theatrical and non-theatrical rights in never heard before prices in Tamil cinema. ## It was previously reported that the non-theatrical rights of the movie have been sold in approx. 240 crores, including digital rights to Netflix for approx. 120 crores in all languages. Thalapathy Vijay's box office market, especially overseas has witnessed a sharp rise over the last few years. ## Considering the huge anticipation for the movie and the blockbuster combo of Thalapathy and Lokesh among the audiences, the makers were reportedly demanding a huge price for the film's overseas rights. It is said that the asking price was close to 70 crores, and as per the latest reports, the overseas deal has been locked. ## According to trade reports, Phars Films which has distributed some of the biggest Indian blockbusters has grabbed overseas theatrical rights. While the makers were demanding approx. 70 crores, reports say that the deal has been locked for approx. 60 crores, which is an all-time record for a Tamil tentpole. ## The total pre-release business of Leo is around 410 crores, including worldwide theatrical rights of approx. 175 crores. These are the numbers confirmed by trusted industry sources to multiple leading media outlets. ## Leo is produced by S. S. Lalit Kumar, under Seven Screen Studio, and co-produced by Jagadish Palanisamy. Scheduled to release on October 19, 2023, the movie also stars Trisha Krishnan, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Sarja, Priya Anand, Mysskin, Gautham Vasudev Menon, and Mansoor Ali Khan. ## Stay tuned...
