Director Vetrimaaran Confirms His Collaboration With Superstar Jr. NTR

Hyderabad, April 11 - Telugu superstar Jr. NTR is the talk of the town after it was revealed that he would be headlining Yash Raj Films' mega movie "War 2" along with Hrithik Roshan. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, "War 2" will mark Jr. NTR's much-awaited debut in Bollywood. ## Apart from his Bollywood debut, the "RRR" star was also in news recently regarding his rumored collaboration with Tamil director Vetrimaaran. It was reported that the maverick filmmaker was in talks with Jr. NTR for a two-hero film but nothing was confirmed then. ## Now, putting rumors to rest, the filmmaker has himself confirmed that he is indeed in talks with the superstar. Vetrimaaran is busy promoting the Telugu version of his recently released crime action thriller "Viduthalai Part 1" and during the media interaction in Hyderabad, he opened up about the recent rumors. ## Vatrimaaran revealed that he met Jr. NTR during the post-lockdown period to discuss a project and the talks are ongoing in the right direction. However, the project in question is far from rolling out anytime soon as both NTR and Vetrimaaran have other films in the pipeline.## Jr. NTR is currently shooting for director Koratala Siva's action drama "NTR 30" which will release in April 2024 in multiple languages. Mumbai, April 11 - The rumours have been making rounds that Yash Raj Films will soon be announcing the 4th installment of its blockbuster franchise Dhoom. It has also been reported and is circulating on social media that either Aamir Khan or Ranbir Kapoor would be headlining Dhoom 4. ## While the rumors about the movie are surely exciting to the fans of both actors, there is reportedly no development happening at the moment, and is unlikely to happen in the near future, at least this year. According to Peepingmoon.com, YRF is fully focused on building its Spy Universe and has no time to develop other projects at the moment. ## The report has mentioned that even though Aditya Chopra of Yash Raj Films has plans to continue the Dhoom franchise, he hasn't taken a call on that yet. Hyderabad, April 11 - Telugu superstar Ram Charan's romantic-comedy Orange (2010) has done very well upon its limited re-release. Directed by Bhaskar, Orange was a disaster in its original run, however, it later gained a cult status and has been people's favorite. ## It was recently re-released on limited screens on the occasion of Ram Charan's birthday, and thanks to the immense popularity it gained over the years, Orange did really well as it grossed approx. 3.50 crores. In Telugu states, it grossed approx. 3.15 crores and turned successful. ## Orange re-release took the opening of approx. 1.40 crores worldwide and remains steady over the week to post good numbers for an occasional release. The earning of the movie will go to charity work. ## Produced by Geetha Arts, the movie stars Ram Charan, Genelia D'Souza, and Shazahn Padamsee, while Prabhu and Prakash Raj play supporting roles. We have already witnessed the huge impact of the franchises post the covid-19 pandemic with the likes of "Drishyam 2" and "Pathaan" and there are at least 20 films in the works across different IP franchises. ## One of the most talked about films in recent times, Rowdy Rathore 2 is also in development and has been in the writing stage for a long time. The first film "Rowdy Rathore" (2012) was headlined by superstar Akshay Kumar, however, as per the latest reports, the sequel will go through major casting changes. ## According to Pinkvilla, the makers are in talks with Sidharth Malhotra to play the fierce cop in the sequel and he is said to be interested in doing the film. He is, however, still contemplating if he should play a cop role since he is already a part of Rohit Shetty Cop Universe for the digital platform. ## "The makers are looking to take the film on floors in the next 2 months as the basics are already on paper. It's just about getting a cast on board the film now. Los Angeles, April 10 - The video game feature adaptation is the new box office king as The Super Mario Bros. Movie exceeded all the expectations and shattered records at the domestic as well as the overseas box office. ## The Illumination, Universal Pictures, and Nintendo's animated adventure opened to a joe-dropping $375.60 million over the 5-day Easter weekend at the global box office, including $204.6 million domestically (North America) and $170.9 million overseas. The worldwide debut is $100+ million more than the initial projection, which speaks about how gigantic the actual numbers are. ## It is the second film based on the Super Mario game and it cost around $100 million to hit the big screens. Ravikumar, Ayalaan has been in production since 2018. It was, however, put on hold due to financial issues and other commitments of Sivakarthikeyan before the shoot resumed in early 2019. Los Angeles, April 10 - The Keanu Reeves-fronted 4th Chapter of the John Wick franchise has continued its assault at the box office and crossed the $300 million mark globally. It is all set to become the highest-grossing film in the franchise by crossing John Wick 3. ## The spy action thriller film grossed $307 million through 3rd Sunday, including $147 million at the domestic (North America) box office. It is currently the second-biggest film in the John Wick franchise domestically, behind John Wick 3 which scored $171 million in 2019. ## Internationally, the Chad Stahelski-directed flick has been performing better as compared to the domestic market. Through 3rd Sunday, it made $159 million over 71 markets, including India where it has grossed an estimated $7 million so far.## John Wick: Chapter 4's totals are set to receive a boost in the near future, as the film is yet to be released in the South Korean and Middle Eastern markets. Japanese Anime Film 'Suzume' Creates A New Box Office Record

Tokyo, April 9 - Japanese animated fantasy adventure film Suzume has created a new box office record for an anime movie. ## Directed by Makoto Shinkai, the movie has crossed the $100 million mark (¥13.2 billion) in China, becoming the first ever Anime title to reach this landmark in a market outside Japan. It reached the $100 million mark on its 16th day after getting released on March 24 in the country.## Suzume had already become the highest-grossing Japanese film ever in China, after crossing director Shinkai's own anime blockbuster Your Name which grossed around $82 million in the country, according to Shinkai. China has been the biggest market for Suzume outside the home market Japan where it has grossed around $110 million (¥14.50 billion) so far. ## Produced by CoMix Wave Films, Suzume's worldwide gross collection is around $250 million (¥32.95 billion), including approx. $140 million internationally.
