Producer Reacts To Akshaye Khanna's Exit From Drishyam 3 and Confirms His Replacement

Mumbai, December 27 - Akshaye Khanna, who has been riding on the success of Dhurandhar, gave a major shock to the makers of the upcoming suspense thriller Drishyam 3 by exiting the film at the last moment. It was reported that the actor demanded high remuneration, among others, which wasn't met and eventually led the actor to exit the film. Now, Drishyam 3's producer Kumar Mangat Pathak has reacted to the news, and he has blasted Akshaye Khanna for his unprofessional behaviour. Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, the producer revealed what went on behind the scenes, accusing the actor of making unreasonable demands and stating that he plans to sue him. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) "We had signed an agreement with Akshaye Khanna. His fees also got locked after a lot of renegotiations from his side. He insisted that he would like to wear a wig. But (director) Abhishek Pathak convinced him that it wouldn't be practical, as it would result in continuity issues since Drishyam 3 is a sequel. He understood his point and agreed to let go of that demand. However, the chamchas around him advised him that he would look smarter if he donned a wig. So, he again requested the same. Abhishek relented and was even ready to discuss this point with him. But then, he informed us that he doesn't want to be a part of the film at all", the producer told the portal. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Kumar Mangat Pathak further said that he gave Akshaye a chance in Article 375 (2019) and then Drishyam 2 (2022). He said that the actor was nothing before those films, but started getting big projects after the second instalment of the Ajay Devgn-led franchise. He even said that Akshaye liked the script of Drishyam 3 and confidently said that it is a 500 crore film, and signed the film and took the advances, but 10 days before the shoot commenced, he left the movie. The filmmaker also confirmed the casting of Jaideep Ahlawat, who has replaced Akshaye Khanna. Directed by Abhishek Pathak, the movie also stars Tabu, Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav, and Rajat Kapoor in key roles. It is scheduled to release on October 2, 2026. Stay tuned...

Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri Box Office: Goes Down on Day 2 After Poor Opening

Mumbai, December 27 - Dharma Productions and Namah Pictures' romantic-comedy Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri went down on the second day. Of course, the drop was expected since it had a Christmas release, but the opening itself was not-so-good with 7-8 crores net. Starring Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Pandey, TMMTMTTM failed to generate pre-release buzz, which was clearly visible in pre-sales (despite the sales being better than many other films, and you know the reason). The makers were still hopeful that the film's biz would pick up on Christmas Day, which didn't happen due to poor reviews and word of mouth. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The Sameer Vidwans' directorial, after failing to take a respectable start, went down by 30% to score 5-5.50 crores net on the second day, Friday, pushing total net collection to around 13 crores in 2 days. The film might pick up on Saturday and Sunday, but it will be hard for it to sustain beyond that because of the seemingly poor word of mouth. At the worldwide box office, TMMTMTTM has grossed around 19 crores. The film needs to score over 100 crores to be deemed successful, but it will be an uphill task for it reach there. It has been one of the weakest Christmas releases, and came up against Dhurandhar and Avatar 3, which have dominated the overall biz. The movie could still have performed had the content been good, but it didn't make any impact. Stay tuned...

Battle of Galwan Release Date: Salman Khan-starrer Sets April 2026 Release

Mumbai, December 27 - Bollywood superstar Salman Khan's highly-awaited war drama film Battle of Galwan has confirmed its release date. Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, the film also stars Chitrangda Singh as the female lead alongside Ankur Bhatia and Abhilash Chaudhary in key roles. On the occasion of Salman's 60th birthday on December 27, the makers unveiled the teaser with the confirmation of the April 17, 2026, release date. BoG is based on the events that took place between the Indian and Chinese troops at the Galwan region on June 15, 2020, when 200 Indian soldiers bravely defended their territory against a force of 1200 Chinese Liberation Army soldiers. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Battle of Galwan is produced by Salman Khan Films, and it is shaping up to be one of the most-awaited films of the next year. The teaser directly shows the incident when the soldiers had a deadly confrontation in Galwan Valley. The film stars Salman as Colonel Bikkumalla Santosh Babu, who led his men bravely and was awarded the Maha Vir Chakra posthumously for his sacrifice. The movie is likely to have a solo release on April 17 after Yash Raj Films' Alpha was postponed to a later date. It is the first film of Salman since Sikandar, which was released on March 30 this year. The expectations are high for this upcoming film, which is one of the marquee releases of 2026. Stay tuned...

Thalapathy Vijay's Jan Neta/Jana Nayagan Sets Wide Release In Hindi

Mumbai, December 28 – Thalapathy Vijay is gearing up for one last dance as his much-anticipated political action drama Jana Nayagan is confirmed to be his last film. With buzz going over the roof, the film is set to get a wider release nationwide, including Hindi, unlike any other previous films of Vijay. With its Hindi version titled Jan Neta, the film is set to be the most ambitious Hindi rollout for a Vijay-starrer. The makers have confirmed that Jan Neta will not be limited to select theatres but will instead see a full-fledged release in both multiplex chains and single screens, ensuring deep penetration in Hindi-speaking belts. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Zee Studios has come on board to handle the Hindi distribution, underlining the scale and confidence behind the project. With the Hindi version's release confirmed to be screened in national chains, it means Jan Neta will have a proper 8-week theatrical window in Hindi, which is not a regular case with South Indian titles. Directed by H. Vinoth, Jana Nayagan features Vijay in a powerful, people-centric role, with Pooja Hegde as the female lead and Bobby Deol playing a key antagonist. The film is scheduled for a grand theatrical release on January 9, 2026, coinciding with the Pongal festive weekend, a period traditionally dominated by big Tamil releases. Alongside Tamil and Hindi, the movie will also release in Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. Stay tuned...

Dhurandhar Box Office: Ranveer Singh Film Smashes All-Time 4th Weekend and Week Record, Beats Pushpa 2

Mumbai, December 28 – Ranveer Singh-starrer Dhurandhar has once again rewritten the Bollywood box office record books by delivering an unprecedented fourth weekend domestically. The Aditya Dhar-directed spy action thriller has emerged not just as a blockbuster but as a historic theatrical phenomenon, setting benchmarks that are looking unreal. Dhurandhar collected a massive 58 crore net collection in its 4th weekend, after another 20+ crores on Sunday. What makes the achievement even more extraordinary is that the film has also gone on to register the biggest fourth week in Hindi, comfortably surpassing Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 - The Rule, which had collected 53.75 crore net in its fourth week. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) These are unheard numbers for an Indian film in the 4th week. With this sensational run, Dhurandhar's total domestic net collection has crossed 690 crore in just 24 days, which is already the highest-ever net total for a Bollywood film. No other Hindi film in history has managed to reach this milestone, underlining the film's exceptional word-of-mouth and repeat audience value. The film's sustained dominance at the box office is particularly remarkable given that collections usually witness a sharp decline after the third week. Instead, Dhurandhar has defied conventional trends, maintaining strong occupancy across multiplexes and mass circuits alike, while continuing to draw audiences despite new releases over the Christmas weekend. Dhurandhar will be crossing the 700 crores mark by tomorrow or Tuesday, and then, its journey to beat Pushpa 2's 800+ crores Hindi net will commence. With new releases failing to challenge the film's dominance, the Ranveer Singh-starrer is well on course to become the number 1 Hindi grosser of all-time. Stay tuned...

Avatar Fire and Ash Box Office: James Cameron Film Tops $750 Million Worldwide; Nears $20 Million In India

Mumbai, December 28 – James Cameron's sci-fi epic Avatar: Fire and Ash continues its strong global run at the box office. The third instalment in the blockbuster Avatar franchise has crossed the $750 million mark worldwide through the second weekend, racing towards the coveted billion-dollar club. After opening to massive numbers across key international markets, Avatar: Fire and Ash has shown impressive consistency at the ticket windows. While the film may not match the record-shattering pace of Avatar (2009) or Avatar: The Way of Water, its current trajectory indicates a long and steady theatrical run. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Avatar 3 has grossed $217.70 million at the domestic (North America) box office, while its overseas gross is $542.70 million, for the worldwide cume total of $760.40 million at the end of the second weekend. China remains the biggest international market for the film with almost $100 million, followed by France with $54 million, and Germany with $43 million. In India, the James Cameron directorial is also putting up solid numbers. The film is nearing the $20 million mark, having already scored 168 crores ($18.70 million) after 10 days. Despite facing stiff competition from major Indian releases, Avatar: Fire and Ash has emerged as the highest-grossing Hollywood film of the year in the country so far. Avatar: Fire & Ash is heading towards $1 billion by this week. It is projected to gross $400+ million domestically and $1.5+ billion worldwide. It has also cross $6 billion mark for the franchise, making it the highest-grossing trilogy at the worldwide box office. Stay tuned...

Top 10 Highest-Grossing Indian Films of 2025 At The Worldwide Box Office

Mumbai, December 26 - Director Aditya Dhar's spy action thriller Dhurandhar is set to conclude 2025 as the highest-grossing Indian film of the year. Headlined by Ranveer Singh, the film has emerged as one of the biggest Indian blockbusters in recent times, with its rock-solid daily collections continuing to leave both trade and the industry stunned. Dhurandhar is marching towards the coveted 1000-crore milestone at the worldwide box office and shows no signs of slowing down. The film is expected to breach the landmark by its fourth Friday, making it the first Indian film of 2025 and the ninth of all time to enter the elite club. Given the current trends, the spy thriller is likely to end its theatrical run with a staggering lifetime total of over 1200 crores globally. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The second-biggest grosser of the year is Rishab Shetty's Kantara: Chapter 1, the much-anticipated prequel to his 2022 blockbuster Kantara. The period folk action drama enjoyed a phenomenal run at the box office earlier this year, grossing over 850 crores worldwide. Notably, the prequel earned more than double the lifetime collection of the original film, which had amassed 408 crores during its release. Vicky Kaushal's historical action drama Chhaava, which released in February, secures the third position among the biggest Indian grossers of 2025 with a worldwide collection exceeding 800 crores. The film turned out to be one of the year's most significant blockbusters, comfortably surpassing trade expectations and gaining strong word of mouth across markets. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) At a time when big scale action spectacles are dominating the box office, Yash Raj Films' romantic drama Saiyaara emerged as a surprising standout performer. Featuring two newcomers, Ahaan Pandey and Aneet Padda, in lead roles, the film grossed close to 600 crores worldwide. It also created history by becoming the highest-grossing Indian romantic drama film of all time. Superstar Rajinikanth's highly awaited gangster action drama Coolie finished the year as the fifth-biggest grosser. However, expectations were significantly higher for the film, which was widely seen as Tamil cinema's strongest contender for a 1000-crore finish. Mixed word of mouth impacted its momentum, resulting in a worldwide gross slightly above the 500-crore mark. S. Dhurandhar Box Office: Becomes The 9th Indian Film To Top 1000 Crore Worldwide

Mumbai, December 26 — Jio Studios and B62 Studios' spy action thriller Dhurandhar has scripted history at the box office by crossing the 1000 crore worldwide milestone. With this achievement, the Ranveer Singh-starrer has become the 9th Indian film ever and the first of 2025 to enter the elite club, cementing its place among the biggest blockbusters in Indian cinema. Dhurandhar reached 1000 crores in just 22 days of its theatrical run, the second fastest Bollywood film to hit the milestone, an extraordinary feat that underlines its unprecedented momentum across domestic and international markets. Despite being an adult-rated film, limiting its audience, Dhurandhar has continued its dream run, powered by strong word of mouth and repeat viewership. At the Indian box office, Dhurandhar has delivered massive numbers, emerging as the highest-grossing Bollywood film of all-time with 760+ crores gross. It has also recorded sensational business overseas, particularly in North America, where it has set new benchmarks for a Bollywood spy thriller. Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar has been praised for its scale, storytelling, and technical finesse, with the entire cast's intense performance receiving widespread acclaim. It is believed that the film's success could redefine the commercial ceiling for original, non-franchise action films in Hindi cinema. With a strong hold still intact across key circuits, Dhurandhar is expected to add more to its already historic total in the coming days. As it continues its victorious march, the film stands tall as one of the most significant box office phenomena in Indian cinema history. Stay tuned...

Dhurandhar Box Office: Ranveer Singh-starrer Becomes The Highest-Grossing Bollywood Film Domestically

Mumbai, December 26 - Jio Studios and B62 Studios' spy action thriller Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh, has become the highest-grossing Bollywood film at the Indian box office, surpassing superstar Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan in just three 3 weeks. Displaying unprecedented box office dominance, Aditya Dhar's directorial continues to crush every release in its path, with Jawan becoming its latest casualty. The 2023 Shah Rukh Khan-fronted action drama had amassed an impressive 760 crore gross in India, a figure that has now been outnumbered by Dhurandhar, cementing its position as the biggest Bollywood blockbuster ever in the domestic market. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) When it comes to Hindi language grossers, only Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2: The Rule currently stands ahead of Dhurandhar. The Telugu juggernaut charted its own historic run, nearly touching the 1000 crore (950+ crores) mark in its Hindi-dubbed version in India. Dhurandhar is trending stronger than Pushpa 2 currently, and if the momentum sustains, it could well become the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time. By the end of its fourth Friday, Dhurandhar will overtake Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD (767 crore India gross) to become the fifth highest-grossing film of all time in India. Notably, all four films above it on the list enjoyed the advantage of multilingual releases, an advantage that Dhurandhar does not have. On the worldwide front, the first instalment of the two-part saga is set to cross the 1000 crore gross milestone by the end of today. With this, Dhurandhar will become the first Indian film of 2025 and the ninth film of all time to enter the coveted 1000 crore club globally. Stay tuned...

Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri Box Office: Dharma Productions' Rom-Com Off To A Poor Start

Mumbai, December 26 - Dharma Productions' romantic comedy Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, featuring Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Pandey, had a poor opening day at the domestic box office, falling well short of a double-digit opening. Released on a national holiday of Christmas, TMMTMTTM collected 7-8 crores net on day 1. The real collection, however, is even lower, as there are allegations of feeding. Despite the external push, the movie failed to take a respectable opening. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) TMMTMTTM was always going to struggle due to the lack of buzz and the domination of Dhurandhar and Avatar 3, which are clearly the first two choices of moviegoers at the moment. The opening of Kartik Aaryan's starrer could have been slightly better had the word of mouth been positive, but that doesn't seem to be the case. It can be said that there is no way forward for the rom-com, as neither word of mouth seems to be proving, nor are the holdover films stopping anytime soon. The film was originally planned for a February 2026 release before the makers moved it up a couple of times; however, these plans often fail if the content is weak. Stay tuned...

Akshaye Khanna Exits Ajay Devgn-fronted Drishyam 3; Reason Revealed

Mumbai, December 26 - One of the hugely-awaited films of 2026, Drishyam 3 faced a major setback after Akshaye Khanna, who has been basking in the back-to-back successes, reportedly exited from the film, leaving the makers in a major dilemma to fill one of the major characters of the franchise. Earlier, it was reported that the creative differences between the actor and makers led the former to back out of the Ajay Devgn-led film. Now, according to the report by Bollywood Hungama, the big remuneration demand turned out to be the main reason behind the actor's exit. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) There is no doubt that Akshaye is enjoying one of the best phases of his career after the big success of Chhaava and Dhurandhar, in which he received huge applause for playing the main antagonist roles. Because of the growing popularity, the actor reportedly demanded 21 crores in fees to feature in Drishyam 3, which took the makers aback. "Akshaye was menacing as the villain in Chhaava, while he stole the show, and how, in Dhurandhar. He has become the next big thing. Realising the same, he decided to revise his fees. Accordingly, he asked for Rs. 21 crores from the makers of Drishyam 3", said the report. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The makers reportedly tried to reason with him that if he's paid a bomb, the film would go over-budget. However, the actor was adamant in his demand as he believes that his presence adds major value to any film. Apart from the remuneration, the report also stated that Akshaye demanded to wear a wig in the film, which the makers rejected as he wasn't without a wig in Drishyam 2. Since the demands were made, Akshaye walked out of the suspense crime thriller film. The exit happened on a good note as the makers hope to collaborate with Akshaye in future when they'll be on the same page. Meanwhile, the shoot of Drishyam 3 has already commenced, and it will be hitting the big screens on October 2, 2026. Stay tuned...

Mumbai, December 25 - The highest-grossing Gujarati film of all time, Laalo: Krishna Sada Sahaayate, is gearing up for a wider reach after the makers confirmed its Hindi language version theatrical release next year in 2026. The devotional drama, which was originally released on October 10, 2025, has been announced to hit the big screens in the dubbed Hindi version on January 9, 2026. On the same day, superstar Prabhas-fronted romantic horror comedy, The Raja Saab, will also be released in Hindi. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Directed by Ankit Sakhiya and produced by Ajay Padariya and Jay Vyas, the film stars Reeva Rachh, Shruhad Goswami and Karan Joshi in prominent roles. The film revolves around a rickshaw driver trapped in a Farmhouse confronts his past demons while experiencing visions of Lord Krishna, who guides him through a transformative journey of self-discovery and healing. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Made on a budget of under 1 crore, Laalo has been a word of mouth phenomena. It started with a negligible collection of 2 lakh on opening day, but went into overdrive after the third week, after the makers expanded the release. In the first three weeks, it grossed just around 1.50 crores, but once it entered the fourth week, there was no looking back from there. The film eventually topped 100 crores gross and became the first ever Gujarati film to hit the milestone, more than double the previous biggest Gollywood grosser. It has completed 75 days and is still earning in lakhs. So far, the film has grossed 112+ crores in India and around 7.50 crores overseas in 76 days. Stay tuned...
