Filmmaker & IFDTA President, Ashoke Pandit Demands FIR Against Swara Bhaskar For Inciting Communal Violence

Mumbai, June 16, 2021: Filmmaker and the president of the Indian Film & Television Directors' Association (IFTDA) on Wednesday (June 16) took to social media and demanded an FIR against Bollywood actress, Swara Bhaskar for "inciting communal violence". ## Ashoke Pandit's reaction came after Swara's tweeted on a viral video in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad, in which a man was thrashed and his beard was chopped off. "RW & Sanghis vomiting on my timeline 'coz Ghaziabad police named 3 Muslims. Jackasses the prime accused is literally a Pravesh Gujjar. The man is on camera forcing the old man to chant #JaiShriRam Yes it is a desecration of my God and my religion and I’m ashamed.. as shud you be", Swara tweeted. ## However, according to the Ghaziabad police, there is no communal angle in the incident. The FIR, registered against the accused, informed that Ghaziabad police have arrested the three accused who had trashed the elderly victim. ## Ghaziabad Police on Tuesday also filed FIR against nine entities, who without checking the fact, started giving communal colour to the incident on Twitter and caught spreading messages to disrupt the peace and bring differences between the religious communities. Among the nine entities - Twitter and Twitter Communications India Pvt are also included, who did nothing to prevent the video from getting viral. ## After knowing the truth, Ashoke Pandit lashed out at Swara and asked Ghaziabad police to file an FIR against the "Rasbhari" actress as well. Mumbai, June 16, 2021: Ayushmann Khurrana had teamed up with filmmaker Aanand L Rai for the first time for Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, directed by R.S. Prasanna. The duo then came together for its sequel, Shubh Mangal Zyaada Saavdhan, directed by Hitesh Kewalya. And now, it is learnt that the actor is teaming up with Rai's next production, which marks his third collaboration with the filmmaker. ## According to reports, Ayushmann has signed Rai's next film which is completely different from their previous two projects. The movie, which is said to be a big-budget, multi-genre drama, will present Ayushmann in a never-seen-before avatar and will largely be shot in the US. It is billed as an ambitious project which will reportadly be directed by Anirudh Iyer Ganapathy in his directorial debut. ## The report further said that the yet-untitled movie will go on floors after Ayushmann completes Junglee Pictures' "Doctor G" which is set to roll out next month in Madhya Pradesh. Anand L Rai is currently looking to finalize the rest of the cast and it is said that he has approached a top young actress to play the female lead. ## On the other hand, Ayushmann is gearing up for the release of his next film, Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui, co-starring Ayushmann Khurrana. It will be released in theaters soon after they reopened with full capacity. The actor also has Anubhav Sinha's thriller, Anek, which is also completed and scheduled to release later this year. ## Ayushmann also has Doctor G, to be directed by Anubhuti Kashyap and co-starring Rakul Preet Singh. The movie presents Ayushmann as Dr. Uday Gupta and Rakul Preet as Dr. Fatima - a medical student. Chennai, June 15, 2021: Malayalam superstar Mohanlal's "Drishyam 2" was a huge OTT success. The movie opened with highly positive reviews and easily one of the most viewed films of 2021 on Amazon Prime Video. Due to its widespread success, remakes in other languages have been announced. ## While the Telugu remake of Drishyam 2, titled "Drushyam 2" starring Venkatesh has already been wrapped within 45 days, the Hindi remake has also been announced by Panorama Studios International, and will soon go on floors. Jeethu Joseph, who helmed the Malayalam version, has directed the Telugu version as well. ## On the other hand, the Tamil remake as Papanasam 2 was also supposed to be announced with Kamal Haasan, who also starred in the first part. Mumbai, June 15, 2021: Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar, two are the most respected names in Indian film history. They are noted for being the first Indian screenwriters to achieve star status, becoming the most successful Indian screenwriters of all time. The duo of Salim-Javed worked together on 24 films during 1971–1987 and created their magic on the big screens. ## Now, Salman Khan, Farhan, and Zoya Akhtar joined hands to announce a documentary to bring the story behind the formidable writer duo to the screen. Titled "Angry Young Men", the documentary will be directed by Namrata Rao, known for her work as an editor on movies such as "Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!", "Ishqiya", "Band Baaja Baaraat" and "Kahaani". ## The documentary will capture the magic of the era that Salim-Javed created together. Lokesh Kanagaraj Unlikely To Direct Hindi Remake Of Tamil Blockbuster, Master

Mumbai, June 15, 2021: Tamil superstar, Thalapathy Vijay's big mass action entertainer, "Master", was the first big budgeted film to release in theaters on January 13 amid the covid-19 pandemic. The Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial became an instant blockbuster and re-inbuild confidence in producers to release their films. ## On January 15, producer Murad Khetani of Cine1 Studios along with Endemol Shine India, and 7 Screen Studio bought the Hindi remake rights of Master. Recently, it was reported that Salman Khan has been roped in to play the titular role in the remake. The actor liked the film and he expected to announce the film next month in July. ## According to Box Office Worldwide, the makers of the Hindi remake also approached the director Lokesh Kanagaraj to helm the Hindi version also. The report further said that Lokesh is yet to confirm, and most likly, he won't be helming the Hindi version due to his other commitments. The director already has Vikram, Thalapathy67, Kaithi2 along with few Telugu movies. ## The Hindi adaptation will also reportadly be different from the Tamil version to fit the image of the mainstream hero. The original movie stars Thalaptahy Vijay as a boisterous professor along with Vijay Sethupathi as antagonist and Malavika Mohanan as the female lead. ## Reportadly, Salman Khan has also bought the Hindi remake rights of Ravi Teja starrer Telugu movie, Khiladi, which is yet to hit theaters. He is said to be impressed with this action crime thriller and has also approached, director Ramesh Varma to helm the Hindi remake as well. Bengaluru, June 14, 2021: National Award-winning Kannada Actor, Sanchari Vijay, has been died after an accident. The actor met with an accident while he was returning home from his friend's place on June 12. He was moved to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Apollo Hospital in Bengaluru, where he was declared brain dead today on June 14. ## Sanchari's family has decided to donate his organs in light of the irreversible brain damage. A statement from Apollo Hospital in Bengaluru said, "Neurologically he is deeply unconscious and is showing signs of brain failure. The family had come forward and consented to organ donation keeping in view the current irreversible brain damage. We will follow the guidelines as per organ donation protocol". ## Sanchari Vijay made his debut with the film Rangappa Hogbitna in 2011. He has appeared in a slew of Kannada films including Dasavala, Harivu, Oggarane, Killing Veerappan, Varthamana, and Sipaayi among others. The actor won the National Award for his role as a transgender in his 2015 movie, Naanu Avanalla Avalu. ## Kannada superstar, Kichcha Sudeep took to Twitter and announced the news of Sanchari Vijay and paid tribute to the young actor who gone too soon. Mumbai, June 14, 2021: In February 2020, Reliance Entertainment had confirmed that the production house has bought the Hindi remake rights of Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial Kaithi, which stars Karthi in the lead role. Bollywood superstar Ajay Devgn is signed to play the lead role in the Hindi remake of the Tamil film. ## However, according to reports, the Hindi remake of Kaithi will undergo many changes and will be different from the original movie. While the Tamil movie had no leading actress, Kajal Aggarwal is likely to romance Ajay Devgn in the Hindi version. It is said that makers are planning to include a heroine and a flashback episode with Ajay. ## If reports are to be believed, then Kajal is all set to reunite with Devgn after the 2011 blockbuster Singham. Kajal's inclusion in the Kaithi remake means, it is set to be remodeled as a commercial entertainer, unlike the Tami version, which was a bona fide action thriller. ## Interestingly, director Lokesh Kanagaraj's films are selling like hotcakes in Bollywood. His Maanagaram is being remade as Mumbaikar by Santosh Sivan, his Kaithi is all set to be remade by Ajay Devgn, and Salman Khan is likely to play the lead in the Hindi remake of Master.## Meanwhile, the producer of the original Kaithi, SR Prabhu recently confirmed through a Twitter Spaces session that a sequel to Kaithi is in the works and the audience will definitely get to see what happened next. Mumbai, June 13, 2021: Ahead of the World Test Championship Final between Indian and New Zealand, the International Cricket Council (ICC) inducted 10 players from five different eras, dating back to cricket's early days, into the Hall of Fame for their contribution to Test cricket. ## "The 10 legends of the game to be inducted have all made a significant contribution to the history of Test cricket, and join an illustrious list of ICC Hall of Famers, taking the total number to 103 as a result of this intake", the ICC said in a statement.## Among the 10 players, former India all-rounder Vinoo Mankad has also made the cut into the list of Hall of Famer. Manked played 44 Tests for India and scored 2109 runs with 5 hundred and 6 half-centuries between 1956 and 1959. He is famous for his world record-setting opening partnership of 413 runs with Pankaj Roy in 1956, a record that stood for 52 years. ## Manked was a slow left-arm orthodox bowler and took 162 wickets at an average of 32.32, including eight five-wicket hauls. He is one of three cricketers to have batted in every position during his Test career. ## Apart from Manked, Sri Lankan legend Kumar Sangakkara, and Zimbabwe's Andy Flower - two of the most prolific wicketkeeper-batsman in Test history, also included in the list. Sangakkara becomes the only second Sri Lankan after Muttiah Muralitharan whereas Flower becomes the first player from Zimbabwe to make it to the Hall of Fame. ## Among the other inductees are Aubrey Faulkner of South Africa and Monty Noble of Australia for the early era (pre-1918), Sir Learie Constantine of West Indies and Stan McCabe of Australia for the inter-war Era (1918-1945), Ted Dexter of England for the post-war Era (1946-1970). Desmond Haynes of the West Indies and Bob Willis of England were inducted from the ODI era (1971-1995). ## "Vinoo Mankad's legacy has been to tell the aspiring Indian cricketer to believe in oneself", former Indian opener Sunil Gavaskar said on Mankad's induction. "He was a great proponent of self-belief. He was the one who kept saying to me that you need to keep scoring runs and keep at it. When you get a 100, let that be the knock on the selector's door. If it is unheard, then score that double hundred and let that knock be even louder". ## "You can have the best technique, but if you do not have the temperament to support it you will not succeed, you have to keep hanging in there and have that self-belief.
