Mumbai, May 20, 2021: The 17-year old hard-hitting batter, Shefali, who recently received her maiden India Test call-up for a one-off Test against England, has been promoted from a Grade C to a Grade B central contract in the 2020-21 BCCI India Women contract list. ## Apart from Shafali, batter Punam Raut and spinner Rajeshwari Gayakwad have also been promoted from Grade C to Grade B while the likes of Ekta Bisht, Veda Krishnamurthy, Dayalan Hemalatha, and Anuja Patel have been left out from annual contract.## This year, only 19 players have given the BCCI Women contract unlike 22 players in the last year. 17-year-old Richa Ghosh included for the first time and handed Grade C. Mumbai, May 19, 2021: Indian cricket team captain, Virat Kohli has once again lent a helping hand amid the covid-19 crisis. After donating Rs. 2 crores along with his actress wife Anushka Sharma in a fundraiser recently, Virat has now donated Rs 6.77 lakh for the Covid treatment of the mother of former Indian women cricketer K.S. Sravanthi Naidu. ## Sravanthi, whose mother is suffering from severe covid-19 symptoms, had appealed to BCCI and Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) and many other associations for help. Kohli's gesture was in response to a tweet tagged to him by N. Vidya Yadav, former BCCI South Zone convenor (women's cricket). ## "Honestly, I was amazed at his spontaneous gesture. Such a great gesture from such a great cricketer. I am also grateful to the Indian fielding coach R. Mumbai, May 19, 2021: The highly-awaited Amazon Prime Video's web series, "The Family Man 2", which was supposed to release last year, is finally premiering on June 4. The streaming platform dropped an intense trailer of The Family Man 2 on Wednesday, nearly two weeks before the show arrives. ## However, before the excitement level of fans could reach its peak, the tailer has given fresh air to the controversy, which could lead things into a serious issue. As per the trailer, Manoj Bajpayee reprises his role as an NIA agent, who along with his team facing enemies called, Tamil rebels. ## South Indian actress, Samantha Akkineni portrays one of the highly-trained rebels, Raji, in the show. She is a part of Tamil rebels (they're just called Tamil rebels), who joined hands with a dangerous terrorist organization, ISIS, to unleash an attack on India. The squeal of MCU's first Oscar-winner in Black Panther will be one of the most emotional productions in MCU's history. ## Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will be without the original Black Panther, Chadwick Boseman, who died in August last year. Boseman's emotional connection with fans will be missed in the sequel, but Marvel is sure that the "Wakanda Forever" will take the franchise to the next level. Ram Charan's Film With Director Shankar Could Be Delayed

Hyderabad, May 18, 2021: In February this, actor Ram Charan had announced his collaboration with director Shankar Shanmugam, commonly known as Shankar. The movie is supposed to go on floors next month in June, but things have changed now due to the second wave of covid-19 and the legal tussle between the director and Lyca Productions. ## Besides Ram Charan's film, Shankar also has Kamal Haasan starrer "Indian 2" which is just 50% completed. Lyca Productions, which is producing Haasan's film, approached Madras High Court alleging that Shankar has taken up films in other languages, indicating Ram Charan's and Ranveer Singh's films, instead of completing Indian 2 as per schedule. ## Besides the legal suit, Lyca is also planning to approach the Telugu Film Producers Council and the film bodies in Bollywood to ensure that Shankar can't begin any other new film before wrapping up Indian 2. However, Shankar also submitted a counter-affidavit stating his reasons for the delay in making Indian 2. The Court has posted the proceedings to 4 June.## Meanwhile, Shankar had also announced the Hindi remake of his own directorial 2005 Tamil psychological action thriller, "Anniyan", with Ranveer Singh. With the Hindi remake of Anniyan, the director also found himself on the controversial side after Anniyan producer V Ravichandran claimed the copyright issues. ## Meanwhile, the court order on "Indian 2" will make way for RC15. Taking to Instagram stories, Kangana took a jibe at a certain kind of people whom she called "Covid Fan Clubs" as she feels such people get offended when talking about defeating the virus. ## "Hello everyone, today I tested negative for covid, I want to say a lot about how I beat the virus but I am told not to offend COVID fan clubs. California, May 18, 2021: Amazon.com Inc., an American tech giant, has bought the iconic movie studio MGM (Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer) for a massive $8.45 billion in a landmark deal, according to The Hollywood Reporter.. ## MGM, a nearly century-old Hollywood company, behind the James Bond series, also owns the Epix cable channel and makes TV shows, including popular shows like The Handmaid's Tale, Fargo, Vikings, and Shark Tank, would help bolster Amazon's Prime streaming service. ## "The real financial value behind this deal is the treasure trove of IP in the deep catalog that we plan to reimagine and develop together with MGM's talented team. It's very exciting and provides so many opportunities for high-quality storytelling", said Mike Hopkins, senior VP of Prime Video and Amazon Studios, in announcing the acquisition. ## The new deal between Amazon and MGM will add a vast collection of Hollywood classics and franchises to Amazon's mix. MGM boasts a film library of around 4,000 titles and 17,000 hours of TV programming, including the Bond, Rocky/Creed, and The Hobbit film franchises. ## Amazon and MGM both had earlier declined to comment on the development. The report says that the deal is orchestrated by Amazon Studios and Prime Video senior vice president Mike Hopkins, along with MGM board chairman Kevin Ulrich.## MGM has been seen as a takeover target for years but was never able to close a sale. It was earlier reported that MGM is in talks with Apple, and Netflix about taking its new James Bond film directly to streaming. However, the company said last year that it's committed to a theatrical release for the film, which is currently slated for Oct. 8 in the U.S.## In December last year, Reuters reported that the movie studio was exploring a sale and had tapped investment banks Morgan Stanley and LionTree LLC and started a formal sale process.## Stay tuned...

It was a move, many expected, will bring the change of releasing movies going forward. ## However, since the pay-per-view model is completely new to the Indian audience, especially for the masses, people are wondering whether this move did benefit ZeePlex, which is the primary partner of Radhe. According to data shared by Zee, Radhe gained a massive number of views, around 4.2 million or approx Rs. 105 crores, on day 1. ## However, trade analysts believe that the pay-per-view model is impractical, given rampant piracy. According to Shailesh Kapoor of Ormax Media, which specializes in media research and tracking, a "Radhe" like the film is expected to get at least 30 million lifetime views, which is looking unlikely in this case. He also said that the pay-per-view model is premature in India to give a try. ## "Our estimates suggest that about eight to 10 million have viewed the film, with four million having watched it on the first day. But to gauge whether the pay-per-view model is sustainable, using Radhe as an example, is premature. The film hasn't been appreciated. One would expect a film like this to get 30 million lifetime views. Laxmmi got about 20 million views. But that movie had the benefit of being on Disney+Hotstar, whose viewership is four times that of any other platform", Shailesh Kapoor, according to mid-day. ## It is not necessary to say that piracy has been a big issue in India. Most of the films get leaked on pirated sites which does affect the lifetime views of a film. However, according to trade anylists, Radhe may have affected by piracy, this Salman Khan starrer has helped Zee platforms to add more new subscribers, which was the main goal for them. ## Meanwhile, Salman Khan and Zee Studios have taken note of piracy and warned people to avoid watching Radhe via pirated sites.
