'Kannappa' Makers' Silly Claim After First Day Box Office Business
Hyderabad, June 28 - It might be a marketing gimmick, the makers declared actor Vishnu Manchu's divotational film Kannappa as an industry hit, only after the first day. This is the first instance when the makers of any film have declared their movie an industry hit, after the opening day itself. ## While the intention behind such a gimmick is unclear, it is probably the silliest thing to do, as in reality, Kannappa will fall way short of the box office mark, which is required to become an industry hit. It is basically a self-trolling act by the Kannappa team, which is strange to even think about. ## As for the box office collection, Kannappa opened to around 11 crores gross at the Indian box office and around 13 crores gross at the worldwide box office. This collection, however, is good for a Vishnu Manchu film. It is, in fact, the biggest opening for the actor. ## The presence of superstar Prabhas played a huge role in the opening of Kannappa, as any sort of buzz the movie was able to generate before the release was due to Prabhas, who played a cameo role alongside Akshay Kumar and Mohanlal.
