Yash Raj Films Wraps Up Shooting Of Bunty Aur Babli 2 In Mumbai

The shoot, at Mumbai's Yash Raj Films studios, adhered to the Indian government's recently announced safety protocols that allow movies to restart production in the COVID-19 era. Apart from a song, the film was already completed when the spread of coronavirus halted production across the country.

The film is a sequel to 2005's "Bunty Aur Babli" where Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukerji played a pair of con-job perpetrators, Bunty and Babli, with cop Amitabh Bachchan in close pursuit. This time Rani Mukerji will reprise the role of Babli Sr. while Saif Ali Khan along with Siddhant Chaturvedi and debutante Sharvari Wagh are the new additions.

"As luck would have it, we had to wrap by shooting a fun song sequence and there was no better way to meet the entire team again and bring the house down with a lot of positivity, joy, and madness", Sharvari Wagh told Variety.

Varun V. Sharma who is making his directorial debut had previously served as chief assistant director on YRF's "Tiger Zinda Hai" starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. "I'm thankful that it all went well because this will give confidence to the entire film industry to return to shoot", said Sharma.

Bunty and Babli 2 was announced in December last year and was scheduled for a theatrical release on 26 June 2020. However, due to the COVID1-19 pandemic, the release date has been postponed indefinitely.
