Mumbai, June 12 - The Independence Day 2024 weekend is getting interesting after rumours hit social media that Allu Arjun's Pan India movie, Pushpa 2 - The Rule was postponed to a new date. Now, the date is being occupied by other movies. ## Recently, John Abraham's Vedaa announced the release on August 15, 2024, and now, according to the latest reports, Akshay Kumar's comedy-drama Khel Khel Mein is also coming on the same date. Mumbai, June 10 - Maddock Films' horror-comedy Munjya sees an excellent collection on its first Monday, dropping around just 10% from Friday which is nothing short of a miraculous hold. There is an outside chance of Monday collection coming on par with the opening day. ## According to the early estimates, the latest entry in the horror-comedy universe scores 3.50-4 crores net collection, pushing the total to around 23 crores in 4 days. The drop from Sunday collection of 8 crores net is around 50% which is also fantastic, to say the least. ## Munjya is heading towards 31-33 crores net opening week which is outstanding and will aim to reach 50 crores net in the second week though it will have competition with Kartik Aaryan's Chandu Champion which is the first major release after gap. ## The movie emerged as a surprise hit as there were hardly any expectations for it to deliver at the box office before the trailer did some trick, plus, the affordable ticket prices also played a role in bringing the audience to theatres. Box Office: Munjya Second Day/First Saturday Early Estimates

Mumbai, June 8 - Maddock Films' production, Munjya is proving all the projections wrong with excellent trends at the box office. The movie opened above expectations on the opening day with approximately 4 crores net and is showing over 60% jump on the second day. ## It was anticipated that the growth on the second would be there but it wouldn't be big due to the lower ticket prices. However, the movie proved all calculations wrong to score an estimated 6.50-7 crores net collection on the first Saturday. ## The total collection of the film is around 10.50+ crores net in two days as the opening weekend is looking to be around 18-20 crores net which is way above the pre-release projections. Actor-politician Kangana Ranaut Slapped By CISF Constable At Chandigarh Airport

Chandigarh, June 6 - Actress turned-politician, Kangana Ranaut was slapped by a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) woman constable at the Chandigarh airport on Thursday, according to a report by NDTV. ## Kangana Ranaut was elected as a Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha from the Mandi constituency of Himachal Pradesh on the Bhartiya Janata Party ticket. The actress was about to board a flight to Delhi from Chandigarh airport when the incident happened at around 3 PM today. ## It is alleged that Kangana was moving towards the boarding area at the airport to travel to Delhi when the CISF official, Kulwinder Kaur, allegedly argued with her and slapped her. The constable has been identified as Kulwinder Kaur. Netflix Top 10: Crew Emerges Third Most Watched Indian Movie of 2024

Mumbai, June 5 - Director Rajesh A Krishnan's heist comedy Crew starring Tabu, Kareena Kapoor, and Kriti Sanon is turning out to be a big success on Netflix after emerging as one of the biggest box office successes of the year. ## Crew premiered on Netflix on May 24 after completing 8 weeks of the theatrical run with over 150 crores in gross collection at the worldwide box office. On its Netflix premiere, the movie scored 5.4 million views in the opening weekend, taking one of the best starts of the year for an Indian title. ## The movie's viewership shot up in the second week (May 27 - June 2) as it scored 8.9 million views. In 10 days so far, Crew has generated 14.3 million views and become the third most-watched Indian movie of the year on Netflix. By next week, it is expected to become the most-watched title by topping Laapataa Ladies.## Crew was the second most-watched non-English film worldwide on Netflix during the week of May 27 - June 2. It has been trending in the top 10 in 40 countries, including number 1 in most of the Asian countries. ## Meanwhile, Aamir Khan's production venture Laapataa Ladies added another 1.4 million views in its 6th week, pushing its total viewership to 17.1 million. Box Office: Mr and Mrs Mahi First Monday Early Estimates

Mumbai, June 3 - Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor's Mr and Mrs Mahi passes the Monday test with a decent hold with a drop of around 60% from Sunday collection of 5.50 crores net approx.## According to the early estimates, the sports romantic drama scored around 2-2.25 crores net collection on its first Monday/fourth day. The drop from the opening day is around 65% but the first day collection was boosted by cinema lovers day. In real value, the drop from Friday is around 40% which is decent hold. ## The positive word of mouth and the lack of major competition helped the movie to hold well and it now needs this momentum to continue throughout the week. The total collection of the movie after 4 days is approximately 19 crores net and the full week is looking to around 24 crores. ## There will be a horror comedy Munjya released on June 7 which is expected to pause some challenges to Mr and Mrs Mahi due to its connection with Maddock Films' horror comedy universe. Box Office: Mr and Mrs Mahi Third Day/First Sunday Early Estimates

Mumbai, June 2 - Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor's Mr and Mrs Mahi has a good opening weekend at the domestic box office with a collection of around 17 crores net. ## The romantic sports drama witnessed a jump of around 20% on Sunday for an estimated 5.25-5.75 crores net collection, pushing the total collection to around 17 crores in the first 3-day weekend which is on the expected lines. ## Mr and Mrs Mahi got a cinema day boost on its opening day so the weekend collection is probably around 3 crores higher than what it could have been with the regular prices. The positive word of mouth also played its part as the movie held decently on Saturday before seeing a good jump on Sunday. ## The overall fate of the movie will be determined by how it performs during weekdays and for consistent collection, Mr and Mrs Mahi will need to hold well on Sunday with a collection of 2-2.50 crores net. The Title of 'Love Today' Hindi Remake Revealed

Mumbai, June 2 - One of the biggest Tamil hits of 2022, romantic-comedy Love Today is getting its Hindi remake with Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor in the lead roles while Advait Chandan, who directed Secret Superstar (2017) and Lal Singh Chaddha (2022), is directing it. ## According to the report by Peepingmoon.com, the Hindi remake of Love Today has been titled Loveyapa, named after a term that can be used to describe the combination of love and siyappa. Junaid and Khushi play a deeply-in-love young couple in this quirky love story. ## Produced by Phantom Studios and AGS Entertainment, the shoot of Loveyapa reportedly commenced on May 27 and is currently being shot at Mira Road in Mumbai. The makers are looking to complete the outdoor shoot two weeks before the arrival of the monsoon, as per the report. ## Meanwhile, Junaid Khan is making his debut with YRF's Maharaj which is scheduled to release on Netflix on June 14. He also has Ek Din, a remake of the 2016 Thai film One Day in the pipeline. On the other hand, Khushi Kapoor made her debut with Netflix's Archies and reportedly finished shooting for her second movie Naadaniyaan. ## The original Love Today was directed by Pradeep Ranganathan, who also played the male lead alongside Ivana. Mumbai, June 1 - After a good opening, Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor's sports romantic drama Mr and Mrs Mahi sees a drop of around 30% on its second day which was with the regular prices. The opening day collection got a boost due to Cinema Lovers Day where ticket prices were Rs. 99/ticket. ## According to the early estimates, Mr and Mrs Mahi scored 4.50-4.75 crores net collection on its second day/first Saturday, showing a decent hold. The total collection is around 11.25+ crores net in 2 days with the first 3-day weekend heading today 17 crores net. ## The second-day collection of Mr and Mrs Mahi could have been its Friday collection or even lower without discounted prices so the hold is pretty good. A 20% jump on Sunday is expected and then, it is all about hold on Monday. ## A good hold on Monday might pave the way for the movie to reach 50 crores net mark which will be a good result for the film.
