Box Office: 'Kalki 2898 AD' Second Thursday Early Estimates

Mumbai, July 4 - Kalki 2898 AD ends the extended first week on a high with another double-digit collection in the Hindi version with a drop of just around 10% from yesterday which is a very good hold to go into the second week. ## On its second Thursday (8th day), Kalki 2898 AD scored an estimated 10+ crores net collection which can go up to 11 crores depending on the single screens. The total collection after the 8-day extended week is 162+ crores net in Hindi. ## Kalki 2898 AD will be eyeing 40+ crores net collection in the second weekend to take the total past 200 crores net mark and then, it will depend on how it performs during the weekdays and once Sarfira and Indian 2 arrive on July 12 in its pursuit to reach 300 crores mark. ## If there was some drop in the Hindi collection, Kalki made it up with the Telugu version which sees a jump today as all version estimate suggests the collection is more or less similar to yesterday with around 26.50 crores gross, pushing the total cume to around 494 crores gross domestically. ## Stay tuned...

Akshay Kumar's 'Sarfira' Censor Certificate and Theatrical Runtime Details

Mumbai, July 4 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar and Tamil director Sudha Kongara teamed up for the first time for the drama film Sarfira which is the remake of Kongara's Soorarai Pottru with Suriya in the lead role. ## Sarfira, produced by Abundantia Entertainment, 2D Entertainment, and Cape Of Good Films, completed censorship formalities today (July 4) and the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has granted the movie a clean 'U' certificate with an approved theatrical runtime of 2 hours and 35 minutes (155 minutes). ## Sarfira follows a man who sets out to make affordable airlines for low-income people, which several enemies try to impede. Akshay Kumar plays the lead role along with Radhika Madan and Paresh Rawal who also featured in the original movie while Suriya has played a special appearance in the movie.## The movie was originally scheduled to be released in September 2023 before the makers postponed it to February 2024, from which it was again moved and now, it is finally hitting the big screens on July 12. June 2024 Indian Box Office Report

Mumbai, July 2 - June was the second biggest month of the year at the Indian box office with close to 1000 crores gross collection after January which is the only month to cross this milestone so far. ## In June 2024, films across languages grossed approximately 985 crores at the domestic box office, as Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD being the biggest grosser with approximately 370 crores gross, followed by Bollywood movie, Munjya with approximately 111 crores gross. ## In terms of language, Hindi once again topped the month and also saw the biggest of the year so far by topping March month's collection of 386 crores with approximately 390 crores gross which includes Kalki (130+ crores) and Munjay (111 crores) as the two biggest grossers. The Telugu version is also back in the top 2 with approximately 275 crores gross, thanks to Kalki with 200 crores gross. ## Meanwhile, the Malayalam language collection slipped to 4th spot after being the second biggest for four consecutive months. The Tamil industry also witnessed a rebound and has had the biggest month of the year with approximately 137 crores gross, thanks to Maharaja (60 crores) and Garudan (45 crores). ## The total domestic collection after the first 6 months is approximately 4700 crores gross. This takes the total Hindi collection of the film to around 128 crores in just 5 days as the first full week is heading for 160+ crores net. ## Despite coming after an extended weekend, the superb hold on Monday, be it single screens or multiplexes indicates a long run for the movie and with the current trend, it will reach 200 crores net in the second weekend itself. In July 2023, Maddock Films officially confirmed the movie and now, there is an update on the same. ## According to the report by Pinkvilla, national crush Rashmika Mandanna has been roped in to play the female lead in Vampires of Vijay Nagar which will be directed by Aditya Satpodar whose directorial, Munjya is currently playing in theatres at the back of Superhit box office collection. ## Previously, there were rumours that Samantha Ruth Prabhu would play the female lead but there was no reliable update on the same. The upcoming movie marks Rashmika and Ayushmann's first film together and also, it is the first for them with director Aditya Satpodar. ## Vampires of Vijay Nagar will be a part of Maddock Films' horror-comedy universe which kicked off with Stree in 2018, followed by Roohi, Bhediya, and Munjya. Stree 2 is the next film in this series, followed by VOV which is currently in the scripting stage and will soon go into pre-production. It will go on floors by November this year. ## Ayushmann Khurrana is currently doing Karan Johar's yet untitled spy comedy and he will next start shooting for Border with Sunny Deol in the lead. Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao's 'Stree 2' Teaser Launched Online

Mumbai, June 25 - Maddock Films has launched the teaser of Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-fronted horror-comedy Stree 2 online after releasing it exclusively with its Munjya in theatres on June 13. The movie is directed by Amar Kaushik and produced by Dinesh Vijan of Maddock with Jio Studios. ## Shraddha Kapoor, whose identity remains a mystery in the movie, returns to reprise her role alongside Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee as inhabitants of Chanderi. Kangana Ranaut Announces New Release Date of 'Emergency'

Mumbai, June 25 - Kangana Ranaut, the recently elected member of parliament, has announced a new release date for his long-awaited biographical political drama Emergency on the day of the 50th year of The Emergency imposed in 1975 for two years by the then prime minister Indira Gandhi. ## The movie, which is written, directed and stars Kangana Ranaut as the late Indira Gandhi, was supposed to be released on June 14 but it will now hit worldwide theatres on September 6, 2024, and will have a solo release. Kangana has also produced it under her banner Manikarnika Films with EaseMyTrip. ## Emergency marks Kangana's second directorial venture after Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi which she co-directed with Krish Jagarlamudi in 2019. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers and People Media Factory, the shoot of the movie has already commenced for 2025 release. ## Sunny Deol will be playing a common man in the movie who takes on a powerful villain. Gopichand Malineni shared details about Sunny's role in a recent interview (via Mid-Day). The filmmaker also revealed that the story is inspired by many real-life incidents. ## "I'll present him in a never-before-seen action avatar. Box Office: 'Munjya' Crosses 100 Crore At The Worldwide Box Office

Mumbai, June 24 - Maddock Films' Munjya has topped 100 crores gross at the worldwide box office, becoming the 7th Bollywood film of 2024 to achieve the feat. The horror-comedy entered the 100 crores gross club on its 17th day. ## Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, Munjya has approximately 98.35 crores gross (83.30 crores net) in India and an estimated 4.25 crores overseas for 102.60 crores worldwide gross through the third Sunday. It is the second movie in Maddock Films' horror-comedy universe to reach the 100 crores mark after Stree (182 crores).## Starring Abhay Verma, and Sharvari Wagh, Munjya is in the race to top 100 crores net collection. It is expected to reach around 90 crores mark by the end of the second week and then, the race to the century mark will begin thereafter.
