Marvel's 'Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania': First Reactions From World Premiere Out Online

Los Angeles, February 7 - Phase 5 of Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is about to kick off with "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" which is slated for February 17 release. Ahead of that, the movie had its world premiere on February 6 at the Regency Westwood Theatre, in Los Angeles. ## While the official review embargo for "Ant-Man 3" breaks on Tuesday, February 14, the early reactions for the world premiere have already started coming on social media. The initial reactions to a Marvel movie have always been mostly positive and things aren't different this time as well, though it suggests there is a different kind of wildness to look out for in the movie. ## Directed by Peyton Reed and produced by Kevin Feige and Stephen Broussard, "Ant-Man 3" is the 31st film in the MCU. It sees the return of Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man and Evangeline Lilly as Hope van Dyne/Wasp, with Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer reprising their roles as Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne. Kathryn Newton joins the cast as Scott's now-grown-up daughter, Cassie.## Jonathan Majors plays Kang, the next chief villain of Marvel's Phase Five. DC Studios Unveils First Five Theatrical Films In The New DC Universe

Los Angeles, February 1 - The DC Universe is getting completely rebooted under the new co-heads James Gunn and Peter Safran. Three months after Warner Bros. Discovery hired Gunn and Safran as Co-Chairmen and CEOs of DC Studios, the new studio tapped with overseeing all DC film, TV, animation, and game projects going forward.## James Gunn had promised that the new DC Universe slate would be announced in January 2023, and as it is, the studio finally unveiled its two-chapter plan for the future DCU. The first chapter is named "Gods and Monsters". ## The studio has unveiled 10 projects, including 5 theatrical tentpoles in its first chapter. These projects are different from the already announced or in-production films and shows. The new slate will focus on the already-established DC Characters as well as the new heroes. ## Have a look at the MOVIES which are announced in the chapter - ## Superman: Legacy ## "Superman: Legacy" will mark the start of the DCU but it will not be an origin story of the proverbial Man of Steel. "It focuses on Superman balancing his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing", Safran said. "He is the embodiment of truth, justice, and the American way. He is kindness in a world that thinks of kindness as old-fashioned". ## James Gunn is writing the script and he might direct it as well. The movie will open in theaters on 11 July 2025. ## The Authority ## "This is one of my real passion projects", Gunn said. "I've been working really hard on it with the writers and we’re starting to put together the entire story. This is a big movie". "Superman: Legacy" will lead directly into "The Authority", a very different kind of story about superhumans who have a less-than-idealistic approach to saving the world.## "They are basically good-intentioned, but they think that the world is completely broken and the only way to fix it is to take things into their own hands, whether that means killing people, destroying heads of state, changing governments—basically, whatever they want to do to make the world better. We’ll see how that journey goes for them", Gunn revealed, adding that the movie is currently being written. ## The Brave and the Bold ## This is the introduction of the DCU's Batman which is different from Robert Pattinson's "The Batman – Part II" with director Matt Reeves. It will feature the extended Bat Family.## "The Brave and the Bold" is the story of Damian Wayne, who's Bruce Wayne's biological son, a fact unknown to Wayne for the first eight to 10 years of Damian's life. He was raised as a little murderer and assassin. "It's a very strange sort of father-son story about the two of them", Gunn said. ## Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow ## This is based on Tom King's (and Bilquis Evely's) wonderful comic. "Woman of Tomorrow" features Superman's cousin, Kara Zor-El, who is a very different type of Supergirl. ## "We see the difference between Superman, who was sent to Earth and raised by loving parents from the time he was an infant, versus Supergirl, who was raised on a rock chip off of Krypton, and watched everyone around her die and be killed in terrible ways for the first 14 years of her life". ## Gunn revealed that "Woman of Tomorrow" will be much harder supergirl than we have been used to thus far. ## Swamp Thing ## This is a film that will investigate the dark origins of Swamp Thing. "Avengers: Endgame" had netted approx. 373 crores and is now behind "Avatar 2" in India. As far as the gross collection is concerned, Cameron's directorial has grossed approx. 458 crores while Endgame had scored approx. 445 crores in 2019. ## The sequel to Cameron's highest-grossing film of all time is racing towards 400 crores net in India for all languages. The movie had the second biggest opening week for a Hollywood movie with approx. 194 crores net, followed by 100 crores in the second week. Despite the competition, the movie had another strong 3rd week of approx. 60 crores net and in the 4th week, it has already scored around 20 crores in 4 days for all languages.## At the worldwide box office, "Avatar 2" has become the 7th highest-grossing film ever with a gross collection of $1.71 billion. Los Angeles, January 7 - The road is clear for the next, at least, three Avatar movies as James Cameron confirmed upon the mega success of Avatar: The Way of Water. The blockbuster filmmaker previously said that the future of the Avatar franchise depends on how the second and third Avatar movies perform. ## "Avatar 2" has been projected to reach $1.5 billion at the global box office to break even and the movie has already crossed that mark in about 3 weeks and turned profitable for Disney. It is projected to finish over $2.2 billion in its lifetime run which will make it James Cameron's third straight $2 billion grosser after "Titanic" (1997) and "Avatar" (2009). ## "It looks like just with the momentum that the film has now that will easily pass our break even in the next few days, so it looks like I can't wiggle out of this, I'm gonna have to do these other sequels", Cameron said, as per THR.## "I know what I'm going to be doing the next six or seven years. The point is we're going to be okay. I'm sure that we'll have a discussion soon with the top folks at Disney about the game plan going forward for Avatar 3, which is already in the can – we've already captured and photographed the whole film so we're in extended post-production to do all that CG magic. The worldwide box office numbers in 2022 are 35% below the pre-pandemic three-year average (2017-2019), causing a loss of approximately $14 billion at current exchange rates, per Deadline.## The projection of $32 billion worldwide in 2022 was dependent on China's box office, but due to the covid-19, it is one of three markets that finished the year at a deficit versus 2021.
