Box Office: 'Shazam! Fury Of The Gods' Projection Indicates $80+ Million Worldwide Launch

Los Angeles, March 15 - DC's next superhero flick, Shazam! Fury Of The Gods finally is hitting theaters this Friday after multiple delays due to the covid-19 pandemic. ## Directed by David F. Sandberg, the sequel to Shazam! (2019) will be released in 77 international markets along with domestic this weekend. At the domestic (North America) box office, Shazam 2 will be released at approx. 4300 theaters, and as per the Deadline, it could open between $35 million - $40 million on the opening weekend. ## Internationally, Fury of the Gods will start rolling out from Wednesday to Friday and it is projected to be a $45 million - $50 million offshore start. Overall, the sequel is tracking an $80+ million worldwide opening ($80M - $85M), which is lower than the 2019 original ($53.5M domestic, $102M WW).## Shazam 2, however, might surprise at the North American box office, much like Creed III and Scream VI, which blew away the box office projections with openings of $58.3 million and $44.4 million, respectively over the last two weekends. ## Starring Zachary Levi in the titular role, Fury Of The Gods shows Billy Batson and his foster siblings, who transform into superheroes by saying "Shazam!", forced to get back into action and fight the Daughters of Atlas. Los Angeles, February 12 - It's James Cameron up against himself at the box office, but for now, his latest blockbuster "Avatar: The Way of Water" has edged past "Titanic" to become the 3rd highest-grossing film of all time. ## The sci-fi epic sequel is continuing its love affair with the box office as it topped $2.20 billion globally through the 9th Friday. With this, "Avatar 2" has surpassed "Titanic's" $2.19 billion, however, the latter may reclaim that spot as it is having a re-release worldwide to commemorate its 25th anniversary. ## For now, "Avatar 2" is the 3rd biggest movie ever, behind only "Avatar" ($2.91 billion) and "Avengers: Endgame" ($2.80 billion). Titanic Re-release Off To Strong Start At The North American Box Office

Los Angeles, February 11 - James Cameron's classic blockbuster "Titanic" returns to the theaters to commemorate its 25th anniversary. ## Released by Paramount in 2,464 locations, "Titanic" re-release grossed a strong $6.70 million opening weekend, including Thursday previews at the domestic (North America) box office.## The weekend total pushed "Titanic's" domestic gross to $666.10 million. The opening weekend of the film's re-release was better than the "Avengers: Endgame" and "Spider-Man: No Way Home" re-releases, which grossed $6.10 million and $5.40 million, respectively. ## Overseas, the "Titanic" re-release grossed a super strong $15.90 million on the opening weekend. Disney Recommends Five MCU Projects To Watch Before 'Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania'
