Both 'Baahubali' Films To Be Re-Released As One Single Film

Hyderabad, June 7 - SS Rajamouli's epic and path-breaking blockbuster Baahubali is returning to the big screen, but with a big twist. Baahubali - The Beginning was released in 2015, before the second part, Baahubali - The Conclusion, stormed the box office in 2017. ## Baahubali will be turning a decade old in July this year, and to celebrate this big occasion, producer Shobu Yarlagadda has recently announced its re-release worldwide in October 2025. While the date is not disclosed yet, the film may hit the big screen on or around the birthday of Prabhas, who headlined this epic. ## According to the report by Gulte.com, both parts of Baahubali will be released in a one epic cut, instead of re-releasing separately. The makers are reportedly working on combining Baahubali - The Beginning and The Conclusion into a single, trimmed-down version. ## This new strategy of re-releasing both parts as a single film can be exciting for fans, as the aim is to once again deliver a seamless cinematic experience to audiences worldwide. ## Baahubali is the franchise which put Telugu cinema on the global map. Chennai, June 7 - Indian cinema legends, actor Kamal Haasan and director Mani Ratnam reunited after 38 years for a gangster action drama film Thug Life, which hit the big screen on June 5. The reunion of the two was expected to script a blockbuster, but things have turned into a nightmare for the duo. ## Thug Life was a keenly awaited film, and it generated some hype with decent to good pre-sales. However, despite the big promises, everything has gone wrong for the film since its release, and it seems that the audience has outrightly rejected it. ## The word of mouth for the movie has been poor from the first show, which resulted in below than the expected opening, followed by a big drop on the second day as the total collection of the movie is around 50 crore gross after 2 days. ## Even though there is a holiday on Saturday and Sunday, the chances of a rebound for the movie are almost out of the equation. The audience reception is poor, as the current Google rating for the movie is under 3 out of 10, while IMDb ratings are below 5, which has made things worse and will continue to do so. ## The Google and IMDb ratings of Thug Life are among the lowest for the film in its opening weekend, and it is going down rapidly. There are chances the movie will likely finish under 100 crore gross collection at the worldwide box office. Mumbai, June 6 - Akshay Kumar-fronted Housefull 5 has taken a good start at the domestic box office. The movie has easily scored the biggest opening of the Housefull franchise, which was expected given the pre-release hype and buzz around it. ## According to early estimates, the comedy entertainer is looking to score in the range of 22-24 crores net collection on its first day. The collection can go a little higher depending on the response in the smaller centres, which needs to be seen. ## The expectations from the movie were higher than what it got on the first day, but the advance booking trend has done well, as the opening is in the range that pre-sales suggest, with the condition that it should see the strong response in the spot bookings, which happened. ## Irrespective of where the final collection lands in the estimated range, Housefull 5 has scored the biggest opening of the franchise, beating Housefull 4 (19 crore net). It is directed by debutante Karan Singh Tyagi and produced by Dharma Productions, in association with Leo Media Collective and Cape of Good Films. ## Even as Akshay Kumar moves to the new release in the form of Housefull 5, it is Kesari 2, which proved to be one of the few successes the actor has had post the Covid-19 pandemic. It has minted approximately 145 crore worldwide collection so far and is among the top 5 biggest Bollywood grossers of the year. ## No one had expected Kesari 2 to perform well at the box office, as the trade almost rejected it before the release. However, the movie put all the conservative trade projections to the dustbin, and emerged as a victorious at the box office despite the targeted negativity towards it. ## It can be argued that the overall box office result of Kesari 2 is not up to the level Akshay has set over the years, but it must be admitted that it was among the films which was least expected to perform well. The title change nearly a month before the release did play its part, but the movie also struck a chord with the audience, resulting in a success at the ticket window. ## Kesari 2 is one of the most memorable films in Akshay's career and easily the best-reviewed movie of the actor in the recent past. Mumbai, June 6 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar-led comedy entertainer Housefull 5 hits the big screen today, June 6, amid huge anticipation. Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, it is the costliest film of the franchise, and the expectations are huge from this at the box office. ## Housefull 5 scored one of the biggest advances of the year for a Bollywood title, with approximately 2.50 lakh tickets sold worth approximately 8 crore gross collection (without block seat) for the opening day. The pre-sales, however, are not as big as it was expected given the franchise value and huge star cast. ## Despite pre-sales falling short of expectations, Housefull 5 is eying the record opening in the franchise. In comparison to one of the recent films, Sikandar, the advance booking of HF5 is slightly behind, but it needs to be noted that the Salman Khan-starrer had a Sunday release. ## It has also been observed that the Housefull franchise is not usually an advance-heavy franchise and has relied on spot bookings, and this seems to be the case with the latest instalment. The urgency in booking tickets is much higher on the release day than on the previous days, which shows the strong response in spot booking. ## At this point, Housefull 5 is looking to score the biggest opening of the franchise, beating Housefull 4, which scored around 19 crore net. Mumbai, June 2 - Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise has delivered again at the Indian box office as his latest blockbuster Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning (M:I 8) has topped 100 crore gross collection, following the big success of the previous film of the franchise. ## Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, the spy action thriller hit the milestone in 16 days as the total collection of the film stands at around 106 crore gross through the third Sunday (16 days). It now needs another 25 crore gross to top Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One (131+ crore) to become the highest-grossing film of the franchise in India. ## The Final Reckoning is only the second movie of Tom Cruise to hit 100 crore gross in India. The movie, however, needs to score strongly in the coming days to surpass the previous film, which will not be easy as legs are weakening, and there will be competition with new releases. ## At the worldwide box office, Mission: Impossible 8 has crossed $350 million. It has grossed $353 million (3020 crore), including $231 million (1975 crore) at the overseas box office and $122.5 million (1045 crore) in North America. Mumbai, June 2 - Superstar Mahesh Babu's fantasy action comedy Khaleja has exceeded expectations in its opening weekend and has become the highest as well as the first double-digit Telugu re-release grosser at the worldwide box office. ## Directed by Trivikram Srinivas, Khaleja was re-released on May 30 amid the huge hype, and it scored the third biggest opening for a South Indian re-release film with approximately 6.75 crores gross. The movie scored good hold on the second day to earn around 2 crore gross, followed by around 1.50 crore gross on Sunday. ## Khaleja grossed approximately 10.25 crores in its opening weekend worldwide, including around 9 crores gross in India and 1.25 crores overseas. With this, it has become the first double-digit Telugu and third South India re-release grosser. ## The movie was re-released without any special occasion, and yet, it scored an excellent collection worldwide. Apart from being the first double-digit grosser, it also became the first Indian re-release title to gross $100K at the North American box office. ## The movie also stars Anushka Shetty as the female lead, alongside Prakash Raj, Rao Ramesh, Shafi, Sunil, Ali, and Subbaraju in supporting roles.
