Hyderabad, July 20 - Filmmaker Gunasekhar has reportedly slammed Rana Daggubati and filmmaker Trivikram for the recently announced magnum opus project "Hiranyakashyap". The project was announced ahead of San Deigo Comic-Con event where more details about it will be revealed. ## Rana Daggubati will be bankrolling as well as headlining the movie while Trivikram is penning the script and will also be directing it. Gunasekhar had earlier announced the Hiranyakashyap project. It is said that Rana was Gunasekhar's first choice for Hiranyakashyapa. ## Gunasekhar reportedly had locked the final draft of the script and according to him, Trivikram himself approached him to write the dialogues for the film, but now, Rana announced the movie without Gunasekhar which didn't go well with the filmmaker.## Gunasekhar took to Twitter to vent out his anger saying, "While making God the central theme of your story, you must also keep in mind that God keeps an eye on your integrity. Akshay Kumar's Comedy Film 'Khel Khel Mein' With Director Mudassar Aziz Is The Remake of A Blockbuster Italian Movie?

Mumbai, July 19 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar would be teaming up with "Pati Patni Aur Woh" director Mudassar Aziz for a comedy-drama film. The movie is reportedly titled "Khel Khel Mein" and has Tapsee Pannu and Vaani Kapoor as the female leads. ## According to Pinkvilla, "Khel Khel Mein" is the official Hindi adaptation of a blockbuster Italian movie "Perfect Strangers" (2016). It was a critically as well as commercially successful movie, grossing over $32 million, and has already been remade in more than 20 countries. ## "Mudassar Aziz has been eager to make an Indian version of it for a long time and has adapted the screenplay in a desi style to suit the sensibilities of Indian audiences", the report says, adding that the shoot will commence in October this year and it will be shot in a two-month straight schedule in the UK. ## The movie was supposed to go on floors early this year but the production got delayed due to Akshay's other commitments. Produced by Ashwin Varde and Bhushan Kumar, the pre-production of the movie is happening at a brisk pace to start shooting on schedule. ## Akshay Kumar, meanwhile, is currently gearing up for the release of his much-awaited "OMG 2" which is scheduled for August 11 release. Hyderabad, July 19 - Thalapathy Vijay's upcoming gangster drama film "Leo" with director Lokesh Kanagaraj continues to make headlines regarding its theatrical business. The movie is in high demand across the country as well as in overseas markets.## Now, the makers have locked the theatrical rights of the film in the two Telugu states. Noted Telugu production house Sithara Entertainments will distribute the movie in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The studio has reportedly acquired the rights in huge 21 crores, making it the highest pre-release theatrical business for Vijay in Telugu states.## The movie stars Thalapathy Vijay in the title role while Trisha Krishnan plays the female lead. Hyderabad, July 19 - Baabubali star Rana Daggubati is all set to produce a magnum opus movie on Hiranyakashyap, an asura king of the daityas in the Puranic scriptures of Hinduism. The actor-filmmaker will unveil multiple projects under his Spirit Media company at San Diego Comic-Con event. ## According to Variety, the movie project "Hiranyakashyap" is being developed by Spirit Media and is set to be directed by Trivikram. The picture is inspired by Amar Chitra Katha's comics of the mythological figure, the powerful demon Hiranyakashyap, and his plan to achieve vengeance by destroying Lord Indira's kingdom.## Some of the details about the "Hiranyakashyap" movie are expected to be revealed at the Comic-Con. Rana Daggubati will play the titular role while Trivikram is writing the script and will also be directing it.## Meanwhile, Rana's Spirit Media has teamed up with streamer SonyLIV on the historical epic action-drama "Lords of the Deccan". 'Oppenheimer' and 'Barbie' Advance Booking Status and Opening Day Box Office Expectations

Mumbai, July 19 - Hollywood films have done well at the Indian box office this year and the momentum continued with Tom Cruise's Mission Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One. It was released on July 12 and is doing very good business, grossing over 85 crores so far. ## The month of July is particularly going to be a major period for Hollywood titles as next in the month are Christopher Nolan's atom bomb movie Oppenheimer and Greta Gerwig's fantasy comedy film Barbie. Scheduled to release on July 21, both Oppenheimer and Barbie are set to spring a big surprise at the Indian box office. ## Oppenheimer is particularly having an excellent response in the advanced sales in India as far as the national multiplex chains are concerned. It has sold approx. 200K tickets in three national chains (PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis) for the opening day which is among the top advances post the covid-19 pandemic. ## The IMAX format of the movie is almost witnessing a near-sold-out opening day while the English 2D format is also having a very good response. With these sorts of pre-sales, the opening of 20 crores would have been a sure shot given but the movie is expected to have low spot booking. However, it will still be eyeing a 15-17 crores start which will be termed very good. ## Meanwhile, Warner Bros. Pictures' Barbie starring Margot Robbie in the title role and Ryan Gosling as Ken, also has good pre-booking despite the competition as it has sold approx. 80K tickets for the opening day in three national chains. The advance sales of the film got momentum over the last 48 hours. ## Barbie is expected to score around 6-7 crores which will be a good opening. Had it been a solo Hollywood release, an opening of 10+ crores net was given with these sorts of advances, but due to the competition, the Hollywood audiences will be divided with most of them likely to prefer Oppenheimer. Also, there will be Mission Impossible 7 which is also likely to retain a decent amount of screens. ## The combined opening of both films should be around 20-23 crores net in India and if they receive positive talks, the opening weekend could well be around 75-90 crores net. Meanwhile, in the domestic (North America), Barbenheimer is projected to score $150+ million opening weekend ($110+ M for Barbie, and $50 M for Oppenheimer).## Stay tuned...

However, this time, the focus shifts to real-life victims as their personal accounts will be detailed in the docu-series which will premiere on ZEE5. ## On Wednesday (July 19), Agnihotri shared the trailer which also includes scenes from The Kashmir Files. Tokyo, July 19 - Telugu superstar Ram Charan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu's period action drama film "Rangasthalam" was released in Japan on July 14 and did decent business in the opening weekend on the limited screens. ## Directed by Sukumar, the all-time blockbuster movie reportedly grossed ¥10.1 million or approx. 60 lacs on its 3-day opening weekend with approx. 7200 admissions. The opening weekend collection of the movie failed to beat the opening day numbers of Ram Charan and Jr. NTR's "RRR" which grossed ¥18 million in October last year.## "Rangasthalam" was released around 70 screens in Japan and grossed 2.5 million yen on its opening day. It is expected to have a good run as the word of mouth among the Japanese audiences is super positive.## Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, "Rangasthalam" was an industry hit during its release in 2018 in Telugu. It grossed over 200 crores at the worldwide box office and became the highest-grossing film in Ram Charan as well as Samantha's career. ## Meanwhile, the all-time blockbuster period action drama Kannada movies, "KGF 1" and "KGF 2", starring superstar Yash were also released in Japan on July 14 and they combined grossed ¥11 million or 65 lacs in the opening weekend with approx. 7840 admissions.## The original KGF movie grossed ¥5.8 million (35 lacs) with 4120 admissions while its sequel earned ¥5.2 million (30 lacs) with 3720 admissions. The word of mouth is decent for both the films and it will be interesting to see how they perform going forward.## Directed by Prashanth Neel, the two KGF films grossed approx. 1450 crores at the worldwide box office in their first runs. Mumbai, July 18 - Tom Cruise's latest blockbuster Mission Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One has a decent first Tuesday at the Indian box office with the collection dropping around 10-15% from Monday which is a good hold. ## The 7th installment in the Mission Impossible franchise scored an estimated 4.25-4.50 crores net today/first Tuesday which takes the total collection to around 73 crores net in the first 7 days. The extended 9-day first week is looking in the range of 80 crores net. ## MI7 is set to emerge as the 4th Hollywood hit in India this year after Fast X, John Wick 4, and Evil Dead Rise and is likely to top 100 crores net to become the second Hollywood film to do so this year after Fast X. ## The Tom Cruise-starrer movie will see competition this weekend from its fellow Hollywood movies, Oppenheimer and Barbie. The Christopher Nolan's directorial Oppenheimer will make a bigger impact on MI7.
