Mumbai, July 22 - One of the biggest movies stars in the world, Tom Cruise's latest blockbuster "Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning - Part One" has become the highest-grossing film of his career at the Indian box office, after putting up a very good hold on its second Friday. ## The 7th installment in the Mission Impossible franchise scored approx. 12 crores net collection in its second weekend which takes the total net collection to around 93 crores in 12 days. It has surpassed the lifetime total of "Mission Impossible 6 - Fall Out's" entire collection of around 81 crores on its 10th day to emerge Tom Cruise's top grosser in India. ## The good second-weekend hold of "Mission Impossible 7", despite losing most of the premium screens to Christopher Nolan's "Oppenheimer" has ensured the movie will hit 100 crores net mark during the third weekend.## "Mission Impossible 7" will also become the 12th biggest Hollywood grosser in India by the end of the day, beating "Fast And Furious 8's" 86 crores net collection. The glimpse met an equally positive response from audiences across social media platforms despite a midnight launch. ## On YouTube, the first look glimpse scored 12 million views in the first 24 hours on Vyjayanthi Movies YouTube channel. The glimpse has been widely shared by different social media accounts in India and Hollywood media which divided the views. It scored around 10 million views on Prabhas' Instagram account. ## "Kalki 2898 AD" title has been taken from one of the names of Lord Vishnu in Hinduism and it is set in the future where a hero rises after the darkness takes control over the world. Mumbai, July 21 - Hollywood has another rocking start at the Indian box office as Margot Robbie's "Barbie" and Christopher Nolan's "Oppenheimer", lovingly called "Barbenheimer" clash, collecting an estimated around combined 20 crores net collection on the opening day. ## Christopher Nolan's atom bomb movie "Oppenheimer" was by far the biggest movie of the day at the Indian box office, scoring an estimated 13-14 crores net while the fantasy comedy "Barbie" sees an estimated 5-5.50 crores net collection. ## Going by the estimates, "Oppenheimer" has taken the biggest start for a Hollywood movie in India this year, besting "Fast X" which debuted with 12.50 crores net. The recently released Tom Cruise's "Mission Impossible 7" scored approx. 12.30 crores India net on opening day. ## "Oppenheimer" is proving to be an IMAX delight as the opening day collection is approx. 1.75 crore gross in this premium format. Los Angeles, July 21 - The Barbenheimer is well and truly arrived after Greta Gerwig's "Barbie" and Christopher Nolan's "Oppenheimer" off to explosive starts in the previews at the domestic (North America) box office and are set to blow up opening weekend projections.## The Margot Robbie-led fantasy comedy film, based on the Barbie fashion dolls by Mattel, "Barbie" scored the biggest Thursday previews of 2023 with an excellent $22.3 million, ahead of "Guardians of The Galaxy Vol 3's" $17.5 million. It is set to overcome industry projections and is now eyeing a mammoth $140+ million opening weekend launch. ## Christopher Nolan's atom bomb movie "Oppenheimer" too is set for a huge weekend after explosive $10.50 million Thursday previews, the biggest ever for Christopher Nolan's original film. The Nag Ashwin's directorial made it to the San Diego Cinema-Con event, becoming the first Indian movie to hit Cinema-Con Hall H. ## The first look glimpse of this Prabhas-fronted epic movie offers a completely new experience altogether as far as Indian movies are concerned. Set in the future, "Kalki 2898 AD" is inspired by Indian mythology where the Kalki title is taken from one of the names of Lord Vishnu from Hinduism. ## The teaser/glimpse begins with the line "When the world is taken over by darkness, a force will arise", and shows a war-torn world in the future, where people seem to be ruled by dark forces and technology and are treated violently and brutally by the oppressor before Prabhas' makes an entry as a savior of the world. ## The teaser also offers the first look at Deepika Padukone who plays the female lead in the movie. Sooraj will invest all his energies in the script once his son, Avnish’s debut, Dono, hits the big screen", the report says.## "Prem Ki Shaadi" is an ambitious project which revolves around a nuclear family. Sooraj Barjatya has reportedly locked the core plot of the film but he will start working on the screenplay only after his son Avnish's directorial debut movie "Dono" hits big screens later this year.## The filmmaker will reportedly take 4-5 months to complete the screenplay and then another 4 months of pre-productions. He is planning to shoot the film with Salman over a period of 100 to 120 days and it will take off once Salman Khan wraps up shooting for "Tiger vs Pathaan" with Shah Rukh Khan. ## Meanwhile, Salman will take up a new project before TvP and it is said that director Vishnu Vardhan's film is the front-runner to be his next. The Great Gerwig's directorial has been one of the hotly anticipated Hollywood movies and it is set to win the opening weekend at the domestic (North America) box office. ## "Barbie" is having insane pre-sales domestically, as according to Deadline, the film has sold the highest number of tickets since James Cameron's "Avatar: The Way of Water" hit theaters back in mid-December of last year.## While the advance booking numbers are not revealed, it is believed to be historical, this too, when the movie will directly indulging a clash with Christopher Nolan's "Oppenheimer" which is raising eyebrows in the trade as well as the studio.## According to the Box Office Company (via Deadline), Barbie is outrunning every other movie so far this year. It is behind only "Avatar: The Way of Water" which took the opening of $134 million.
