Los Angeles, April 27 - 20th Century Studios seems to be getting inspired by the huge box office success of Avatar: The Way of Water as producer Jon Landau has teased another long-awaited sequel to 2019' Alita: Battle Angel. ## From the screenplay by James Cameron and Laeta Kalogridis, "Alita: Battle Angel", a cyberpunk action film based on Yukito Kishiro's manga series Gunnm, was released in 2019 and grossed over $400 million worldwide. It followed the titular cyborg as she discovered the truth about her identity, her friends, and the people who run the city she lives in. ## The movie ended on a cliffhanger, setting up the stage for a potential sequel. However, 20th Century Studios didn't seem too interested in the sequel, but the dedicated fans have been voicing for "Alita 2" to know the rest of the story.## Amid the continued demand, producer Jon Landau has finally provided good news regarding the sequel and said that the talks are happening for quite some time now. During an exclusive interview with Screen Rant, the "Avatar" producer confirmed that "We're working on it".## "I think what we've learned from Avatar is how much more facial nuance and subtlety that we can get into characters that we want to be emotional and emote that are humanoid. Alita would not have been possible, but for what we did on Avatar. Avatar: Way of Water would not be what it is but what we did for Alita. And now let's put that back and give it back to Alita. The release date was announced at CinemaCon 2023 where it was confirmed that the second part of Fast X will hit screens two years from now on. ## Vin Diesel previously told in an interview that there are plans the release the final two "Fast and Furious" movies back-to-back with the target release date being 02/23 for the first one and 02/24 for the second one. However, the production for "Fast and Furious 11" is yet to begin. It will be directed by Fast X's Louis Leterrier, with Birds of Prey's Christina Hodson and Mortal Kombat's Oren Uziel penning the script.## Meanwhile, the next and penultimate installment in this blockbuster franchise, "Fast X", is scheduled to be released next month, on May 20. Hyderabad, April 26 - Telugu actor Akhil Akkineni's long-awaited spy action thriller Agent is getting ready to hit the big screen this Friday, April 28. The Pan India movie is directed by Surender Reddy who last directed a movie was Chiranjeevi's "Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy" in 2019. ## A few months back, "Agent" was one of the most-anticipated Telugu movies of the tier 2 heroes, but, the continued delay in the production hit the hype. However, the trailer and the unique promotional activities have brought the movie into the scene again and it is currently carrying a decent buzz among the moviegoers. ## Meanwhile, the makers have locked the worldwide theatrical business, and irrespective of the buzz around the movie, it has managed to close a high business for a non-superstar movie. Mumbai, April 26 - After enjoying festive first few days, Salman Khan's family action drama Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan has got the first taste of negative critics reviews and audiences' word of mouth in its box office collection after it dropped by 40% on the first Tuesday, one of the biggest first Tuesday drops for an A-list star post the covid-19 pandemic. ## Directed by Farhad Samji, "Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan" was probably the least hyped Salman Khan film in many years, plus, the pre-Eid release ensured it takes an underwhelming opening of around 13.50 crores net. Not many films scored much after the low start, especially with the negative reviews but it has proved that such things don't apply to Salman and his stardom. ## After an underwhelming start, KKBKKJ jumped by nearly 90% on its second day, Eid for around 25.75 crores net, followed by another jump on Sunday for around 26.60 crores. It managed to score a decent to good opening weekend of around 67 crores, purely because of the huge pull of Salman. ## There was fear that the movie would tank on Monday, however, being a partial holiday in some places, KKBKKJ did well by holding strong for around 10.20 crores net, but the negative reviews were going to hunt it at some point and this happened on the next day, i.e. Tuesday on which it scored just around 6.10 crores, a harsh 39.82% drop from Monday. ## The total net collection of the film after 5 days is 82.15 crores, and one would feel that such box office numbers with poor reviews in the post-pandemic times could become possible only because of Salman Khan's stardom. In current times, when superstardom is becoming irrelevant, KKBKKJ was a litmus test for Salman to show his star power, and he managed to prove it to some extent. ## However, despite all odds, KKBKKJ was destined to cross 100 crores net, a landmark box office figure most of the films have failed to achieve in the post-covid-era.
