Mumbai, February 26 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has once reiterated to fulfill his fans' demand of doing more comedy and action films going forward.## Before the covid-19 pandemic, Akshay Kumar was the most successful Bollywood actor who delivered back-to-back box office hits, however, over the last couple of years during the pandemic, his films have underperformed. Expect for "Sooryavanshi" (2021), all of Akshay's films turned flop post the pandemic. ## There has been a common discussion within the film industry that the taste of the audience has changed and those films that were working wonders before covid, doesn't woo the audiences anymore. Keeping those things in mind, Akshay said he needs to correct himself and do films that his fans and audience are demanding. ## During a recent interview with Sudheer Chaudhary of Aaj Tak, Akshay was asked what is the reason behind his films not working at the box office. He said that this is not the first time when his movies haven't worked and every time he bounced back and delivered back-to-back hits. ## Akshay further said that now it's time for him to change and do films that his fans and audience demand. "My fans and audience want me to come back to action and comedy films so I will change accordingly and do more such films".## ICYDK, the Khiladi of Bollywood is already doing action and comedy films that are some of the most-anticipated films. He is doing a two-hero action entertainer "Bade Miyan Chote Miyan", co-starring Tiger Shroff. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, BMCM is already getting a lot of hype and the industry is predicting it to be the top-grosser of Akshay. Directed by debutante Srikanth Odela, Dasara is the most expensive film of Nani's career. ## Produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri under the banner of Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara Cinemas, Dasara is getting hyped with its aggressive promotional strategies and it is easily the most-anticipated film of Nani. Los Angeles, February 24 - Warner Bros. Pictures is going back to Middle-Earth to make multiple more Lord of the Rings films. ## According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. has brokered a multiyear deal with rights holders Embracer Group AB which allows the studio to develop more films based on J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings books and The Hobbit. ## Embracer Group, the Swedish gaming company, acquired the rights to produce LOTR films, games, merchandise, theme park attractions, and live productions when it purchased rights holder Middle-earth Enterprises last year from The Saul Zaentz Company. ## LOTR is one of the most successful film franchises in Hollywood. There have been a total of 3 films in the LOTR franchise, directed by Peter Jackson, with a combined gross collection of $2.9 billion. Jackson's follow-up trilogy based on Tolkien's "The Hobbit" which acts as a prequel to his The Lord of the Rings film trilogy, matched those grosses. ## Warner Bros. is yet to attach filmmakers to helm the upcoming LOTR films. Meanwhile, LOTR is not the only franchise that Warner Bros. is reviving. CEO David Zaslav previously said that he would like to make a deal with author J.K. Mumbai, February 23 - After the dream start of the year with Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan, Bollywood gets a reality check of the changing box office dynamics in the current scenario. Kartik Aaryan's Shehzada failed to utilize the momentum created by Pathaan as Bollywood's search for the next hit begins. ## The industry is now gearing up for the next release with superior star power in the form of Selfiee. The Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi-fronted flick is not the next Pathaan but the makers will be hoping for a better outcome than Shehzada which was carrying decent expectations. ## The full-fledged advance booking for this Raj Mehta's directorial was opened just 24 hours before the release. While overall pre-sales of Selfiee are low, the pace of it is better than Shehzada which was not going anywhere with its pre-sales numbers. ## Selfiee is not a frontloaded box office flick, it is expected to take in a lower opening than Shehzada which took the start of 6 crores net. Going by the advance booking and considering other aspects, Selfiee is expected to open around 4-5 crores net. It has sold approx. 20K tickets so far for the opening day, which can be termed low.## Produced by Prithviraj Productions, Dharma Productions, and Cape Of Good Films, Selfiee is expected to release on over 3000 screens nationwide. This size of the release is enough for a movie to take a good opening, but again there is a lack of excitement among the moviegoers which makes Selfiee a decent starter. Starring Jr. NTR and Ram Charan, the movie was a massive hit across the globe as it got immense respect from some of the all-time great filmmakers.
