Box Office: 'The Legend Of Maula Jatt' Becomes First Pakistani Movie To Hit PKR200 Crores Worldwide

Mumbai, November 21 - The blockbuster Pakistani Punjabi film The Legend of Maula Jatt is on the historic box office run, breaking records amid the political turmoil in the country. ## Directed by Bilal Lashari, TLOMJ has outstormed all the low expectations and becomes the first Pakistani movie ever to reach PKR 200 crores gross at the worldwide box office. It was also the first Pakistani movie to reach 100 crores globally but has managed to extend its run to the next level.## The action-drama film, starring Fawad Khan as the titular character, is already the highest-grossing Pakistani movie, both domestically and overseas. It has grossed approx. PKR 80 crores in Pakistan while the overseas collection is PKR 123 crores to date, for worldwide cume approx. 203 crores, according to local trade analysts.## "The Legend of Maula Jatt" is the adaption of the 1979 cult classic film "Maula Jatt", which was itself a huge blockbuster. Hanuman Teaser: An Ambitious Attempt At India's Original Superhero

Hyderabad, November 21 - Tollywood filmmaker Prasanth Varma's next HanuMan with actor Teja Sajja is in post-production. The shoot of the movie was done a long time back but due to the heavy VFX, the post-production work is taking a bit longer time than expected.## Meanwhile, as the post-production is happening, the makers released the first teaser of the superhero movie, which is based on the epic character of the epic Ramayana, Lord Hanuman, but the story is based on current times. The teaser gives a brief view into the world created by Varma, and it can be termed an ambitious attempt at India's original superhero.## Made on a relatively lower budget than other VFX-heavy films, the "HanuMan" teaser is nothing short of a visual extravaganza. Though the teaser didn't reveal much about the story, it is full of goosebumps moments with the last shot being the highlight of it where Lord Hanuman resembles Lord Shiva, covered with ice Shivling in the ice cave.## The teaser introduces the characters of the protagonist Teja, Amrita Aiyer, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, and others. Box Office: Black Panther 2 Races Past $500 Million Worldwide

Los Angeles, November 21 - Marvel Studios' latest blockbuster Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has crossed the $500 million mark at the global box office at the end of the second weekend.## The superhero movie, directed by Ryan Coogler, was the number one movie at the domestic (North American) box office for the second weekend in a row. It grossed $67.3 million in its second weekend in North America, pushing total domestic cum to $288 million in 10 days.## The drop for "Black Panther 2" was around 63% which is higher than the first Black Panther movie but relatively low as compared to the recent Marvel tentpoles, "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" and "Thor: Love and Thunder" which posted declines in the 67 percent range. ## At the international box office, the sequel grossed $258.3 million after approx. $70 million in the second weekend from 50 markets, pushing total global cume to over half a billion at $546.3 million. As per Deadline, the drop was just 49% overseas on the second weekend which is better than the majority of other MCU titles for the same suite of markets.## Despite the heavy first two weekends at the worldwide box office, "Black Panther 2" is nowhere close to its predecessor as Hollywood analysts are predicting it to be wrapped under $1 billion at around $850 million. Mumbai, November 19 - The covid-19 pandemic was a massive hurdle for the Indian film industry to ignore as films over the last two years were forced to take a different route other than the conventional theatrical way. ## While the makers initially had no choice but to opt for direct digital releases of their movies to prevent big losses as theaters were closed, no one can deny that the lack of patience in them not only left exhibitors in the doldrums but also made those filmmakers let the big opportunities to go.## One of the questionable decisions, which was heavily criticized by the Kerala theater association, was skipping the theatrical release of Mohanlal's highly-anticipated suspense thriller "Drishyam 2" as it was sold to Amazon Prime Video for direct release in February 2021.## Skipping the theatrical release of "Drishyam 2" might not be a tough decision for the makers back then as they hardly had an idea what they are going to lose later on. The latest Hindi remake of "Drishyam 2" has done what the original Malayalam movie wasn't even given the opportunity and that is scoring big bucks at the box office.## "Drishyam 2" Malayalam got an excellent response from critics and OTT audiences alike and it would have surely done wonders at the box office had it been released in theaters. The Hindi version, which was released on November 18, surpassed all expectations and took the opening of over 15 crores net with the 3-day opening weekend total finishing above 64 crores net, which is excellent, to say the least.## Very much like Bollywood at present, the Malayalam industry was also undergoing a big slump at the time of the "Drishyam 2" release as most films were skipping theatrical releases. It could have done the same as its remake is doing for Bollywood, giving a major relief. ## While the Malayalam filmmakers were too harsh towards the theatrical options back then, the other industries including Bollywood were also on the same path, leaving the box office biz gasping and on the verge of collapse. If you see, I have never worked on one genre consistently, and likewise, this is going to be a new world for me to explore as a director", Abhishek told.## The filmmaker further revealed that he wanted to make "Parlok" after "The Zoya Factor" (2019) but he picked Akshay Kumar's "Ram Setu", which received mixed to positive reviews. He said he has been working on "Parlok" with John for quite some time now and will take it on floors once they are ready with all their resources. Bengaluru, November 19 - Hombale Films' latest mega-blockbuster Kantara has outgrossed its own recent sensation KGF: Chapter 2 in the original Kannada language at the domestic box office.## The Rishab Shetty-starrer adventure action drama film has scored approx. 158 crores net in 49 days, beating "KGF 2's" approx. 154 crores net to become the biggest grosser ever in the Kannada language. "Kantara" has seen a much better trend than "KGF 2" at the box office, thanks to the never-ending social media buzz for the film.## Written and directed by Rishab Shetty, "Kantara" has also crossed 300 crores net mark with today's collection (8th Saturday), becomes the third Indian movie in 2022 to reach the milestone, and joins the big boys "KGF 2" and "RRR". Overall, it is the 16th Indian movie ever to reach 300 crores net collection. ## The original Kannada version has been the best-performing language in the "Kantara" collection, followed by Hindi with approx. 80 crores net (36 days), and Telugu with approx. 41.50 crores net (35 days). The filmmaker, who delivered one of the biggest hits of 2022 in the form of "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2", will next be teaming up with Shahid Kapoor for a big-ticket entertainer. ## According to Pinkvilla, Anees Bazmee has been in discussion with multiple actors over the last 6 months to set his next film after BB2 and he is finally going to team up with Shahid for the first time. The yet-to-be-announced film is an outright comedy film and is set to go on floors by early 2023.## Anees Bazmee already has a superhero comedy film, for which, he joined hands with Zee Studios and Echelon Productions.
