Varun Dhawan And Kriti Sanon's Horror-Comedy 'Bhediya' To Also Release In Tamil, And Telugu

Mumbai, October 19 - Producer Dinesh Vijan's next film in his horror-comedy universe, Bhediya, starring Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon is getting ready to release on November 25, 2022, in theaters worldwide. It is directed by Amar Kaushik, who previously directed Vijan's blockbuster "Stree". ## Meanwhile, the makers have decided to release the film also in Tamil and Telugu versions apart from the original Hindi language in 3D and 2D format. Ayan Mukerji's 'Brahmastra' Leads PVR's Earnings In Q2 of FY23

Mumbai, October 19 - PVR Ltd, the film exhibition company in India, has reported a net loss of Rs 71.49 crore in the second quarter of the financial year 2023. During the same quarter last year, the company reported a loss of Rs 153.27. ## PVR said in a regulatory filing that approx. 18 million (1.8 crores) patrons visited its cinemas during the quarter as the revenue from operations in the 2nd quarter stood at Rs 686.72 crore as compared to Rs 120.32 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year. ## The company said in the statement that the underperformance of most Bollywood movies was the major reason behind the losses. Director Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra Part 1 - Shiva, however, led PVR's earnings during this period with Rs. 75.6 crores, followed by Marvel Studios' Thor: Love and Thunder with Rs. 42.10 crores. ## The highest-grossing South Indian movie at PVR property during the Q2FY23 was Dulquer Salmaan and Mrunal Thakur's Sita Ramam Rs. 16.7 crores, followed by Karthikeya 2 with Rs. 14.7 crores. ## PVR reported that there was an 11 percent growth in the average ticket price at Rs 224, while spending on food and beverages grew by 31 percent per patron at Rs 129 compared to the pre-pandemic period of the second quarter FY20.## Top 5 movies at PVR during Q2FY23 - ## 1. Mohanlal's 'Monster' Gets Clearance To Release In Bahrain

Kochi, October 18 - A day after the news of the ban on Malayalam superstar Mohanlal's Monster in the entire gulf over LGBTQ content, the Bahrain censor board has reportedly lifted the ban on the movie. ## According to the reports, the Bahrain censor board asked the makers to cut a few scenes in the movie in order to get clearance for the release in the country, to which, the makers agreed to the board's demand and around 13 minutes of the movie have been cut. ## This move has come as a big relief to the makers as Bahrain along with other gulf countries, is the big market for Malayalam movies. It is said that the makers have already applied for re-censorship of the movie in the entire gulf, and just like Bahrain, they are hopeful that other countries will also approve the film with some obvious changes. ## "Monster" is directed by Vysakh from a script written by Udaykrishna. Aiming to make it a global movie, SSMB29 will be Rajamouli's maiden film with Mahesh Babu. ## It was reported that "SSMB29" will be a jungle-based adventure movie, essentially an African forest action-drama. The 200-crore club in Tamil Nadu is the rarest of the rare achievement as the movie ticket prices in the state significantly remain low as compared to the other Indian states. ## "PS-1" portrays Tamil history to its fullest and this has played a major role in the film breaching this massive box office milestone. The movie is being directed by Vamshi Paidipally and produced by Dil Raju and is slated for Pongal 2023 release.## After "Varisu", Thalapathy Vijay is committed to his Thalapathy 67 with director Lokesh Kangaraj, which will be a pan-India film. The shoot for the same is expected to start by December this year. Meanwhile, the latest talk in the town is that Thalapathy Vijay has also greenlit "Thalapathy 68". ## It has already been reported previously that Thalapathy would be reuniting with director Atlee for a mass entertainer, and now, according to the Telugu360 report, Telugu production house Mythri Movie Makers will produce this Pan India film. Bengaluru, October 17 - Hombale Films' adventure action thriller, Kantara was made on a budget of approx. 16 crores but the movie is outperforming most of the big-budget Indian biggies at the box office. In other words, the Rishab Shetty-starrer is setting new benchmarks for mid-range films. ## In one of Kantara's biggest achievements of its box office run so far, it has scored the 4th biggest 3rd Sunday at the Indian box office of all time. It scored 18.15 crores net on its 17th day (3rd Sunday) for all languages, including itself some of the biggest Indian blockbusters of all time. ## The highest 3rd Sunday box office collection belongs to SS Rajamouli's epic blockbuster "Baahubali: The Conclusion" with 32 crores net in all languages, followed by "KGF: Chapter 2" (the highest Indian grosser of 2022) with 21.5 crores net, and Rajamouli "RRR" (2nd highest of 2022) with 20.5 crores net. ## Meanwhile, "Kantara" has also crossed the 100 crores gross mark in the home state, Karnataka, and becomes only the 4th movie ever to do so after two "KGF" films and "Baahubali 2".
