Mumbai, March 7 - Bollywood superstar Ajay Devgn marked his digital debut with the Disney Plus Hotstar series, "Rudra: The Edge of Darkness". The psychological crime thriller series, which is a remake of the British series "Luther" starring Idris Elba, was released on March 4. ## Upon the release of the show, it received mixed to a positive response from critics and audiences alike. It was, as expected, remained the most-watched Indian show on OTT during its opening weekend. As per Ormax Media, "Rudra: The Edge of Darkness", got 8.6 million views in the first 3 days (March 4-6). Makers claimed it is the highest viewership count on Disney+Hotstar during the opening weekend. ## The 6-episode series also stars Raashi Khanna and Esha Deol in prominent roles. Set in Mumbai, the show is a race-against-the-clock thriller that delves into the psyche of highly intelligent criminals and the detective who hunts them. ## Each episode in the series features a new threat even as the overarching series arc continues, portraying the grave personal cost at which DCP Rudra Veer Singh pursues criminals and killers and the unlikely friendship that he forms with Dr. Aliyah Choksi, a genius sociopath. ## The show is directed by the National Award-Winning director, Rajesh Mapuskar. Mumbai, March 7 - Ukrainian actor and famous television show host, Pasha Lee was killed on Sunday (March 6) during the battle with the Russian army in Irpin on the outskirts of Kyiv. ## Pasha Lee, also known as Pavlo Li and Pasha Li, was 33 years old. Pawankhind Enters To Top 10 Highest-Grossing Marathi Films Of All Time

Mumbai, March 7 - The Marathi cinema continues to thrive and making its own place amid the crowed pulling Bollywood film industry. It all began with Nana Patekar's "Natasamrat", which became the first Marathi movie to gross over Rs. 50 crores at the box office. ## However, the record of "Natasmrat" was later outscored within five months when the all-time blockbuster Marathi movie "Sairat" was released on April 29, 2016. It grossed over Rs. 100 crores at the worldwide box office and remains the only Marathi movie to achieve the feat to date. ## Now, there is another movie that is finding its legs in the record books. "Pawankhind", a historical drama film directed by Digpal Lanjekar and produced under the banner of Almonds Creations in association with A A Films, has been unstoppable ever since it debuted in theaters on 18 February 2022. ## Based on the life of Maratha warrior, Baji Prabhu Deshpande, "Pawankhind" has completed 17 days at the box office, and it has grossed a super Rs. 31.50 crores in India. It has stormed into the list of Top 10 highest-grossing Marathi movies of all time, taking the 7th spot (as of March 6) in the list. It will easily cross the next two movies, "Naal" (Rs. 32 crores), and "Timepass" (Rs. 33 crores), to reach number 5 in the list. ## The film depicts the historical rearguard last stand that took place on 13 July 1660 at a mountain pass in the vicinity of fort Vishalgad, near the city of Kolhapur, Maharashtra, India between the Maratha Warrior Baji Prabhu Deshpande and Siddi Masud of Adilshah Sultanate, known as Battle of Pavan Khind. ## "Pawankhind" was originally slated for June 2021 release, but the makers were forced to postpone it due to the second covid-19 wave. Los Angeles, March 6 - Robert Pattinson's debut as Caped Crusader ignited domestic box office as "The Batman" scored a mighty $134 million over the opening weekend, making the best opening weekend of 2022 and the 2nd biggest during the entire covid-19 pandemic. ## The Matt Reeves-directed is nearly two and a half times bigger than the second-best 2022's movie Sony's "Uncharted", which grossed $44 million in the opening weekend in February. Interestingly and very promisingly, "The Batman" is only the second non-Chinese movie during the pandemic to cross the $100 million mark in a single weekend, after "Spider-Man: No Way Home's" historic $260 million in December 2021. ## The DC superhero movie has the widest domestic release in over 4417 theaters during the pandemic. The film had grossed $56.6 million on Friday, which also included $21.6 million pre-shows. On Saturday, the movie dropped 24% for $43.25 million, followed by a 21% drop on Sunday for $34.15 million. The average per-theater ticket sale was $29,092 during the weekend. ## The latest outing in the blockbuster franchise has also taken the 3rd biggest opening for a solo Batman movie. For Warner Bros., it is the biggest debut since 2016's "Suicide Squad", which grossed $133.6 million, and the studios' first movie to cross $100 million in the opening weekend since 2017's "It". ## The $200 million budgeted adventure movie has very well been received by the audience with A- Cinema Score. "The Batman” is shaping up to be a commercial winner for Warner Bros. The release of "Radhe Shyam" couldn't have come at a better time as things are getting back to normal in most parts of the world. ## As for the box office perspective, Prabhas' movies have always been there for the makers to bank on. The early trends are showing it is very much on track for the said figure. ## Prabhas' popularity has been on the rise ever since his "Baahubali", directed by SS Rajamouli, was released in 2015. While he was also always a big star in Telugu states, the Hindi audiences also showered a lot of love to him, which can be seen in his last three films of him. "Baahubali", "Baahubali 2", and "Saaho", all became big hits in Hindi, and that trend is expected to continue "Radhe Shyam", and all other his upcoming movies. ## Set in Europe of the 1970s, the film tells the story of Vikram Aditya, a palmist who is conflicted between destiny and his love for Prerana, played by Pooja Hegde. Chennai, March 6 - Tamil star Chiyaan Vikram is winning mixed to positive responses for his recently released action thriller film, "Mahaan", which debuted directly on Amazon Prime Video. The actor is now gearing up for the blockbuster summer with two new releases. ## The "Anniyan" actor will next be seen in the sci-fi action thriller, "Cobra", which marks former Indian cricket, Irfan Pathan's film debut. Directed by R. Ajay Gnanamuthu, the movie features Chiyaan Vikram as a mathematician in close to 8 appearances. ## Produced by Seven Screen Studios, "Cobra" will be released on May 26th and it may have a theatrical debut unlike Vikram's "Mahaan". Director Gnanamuthu recently confirmed the release date but he didn't provide the release platform. The industry reports, however, are hinting at its theatrical release first. ## "Cobra" has been in production for a long time. It was originally scheduled for a release coinciding with the Eid Al-Fitr weekend, falling on 22 May 2020. However, due to the covid-19 pandemic, the production of the film was halted which forced the makers to postpone the release indefinitely. ## The movie also stars Srinidhi Shetty as the female lead, which marks her Tamil debut, apart from Sarjano Khalid, Miya, Roshan Mathew, K. Mumbai, March 6 - The fans of one of the popular sci-fi horror film franchises, "Alien", have reasons to rejoice as a new film is under development in the series, which will be written and directed by "Don't Breathe" and 2013's remake of "Evil Dead" fame Fede Álvarez who is himself a big fan of the franchise. ## There have been four movies in the original "Alien" series along with two crossover films and two prequel movies. The last "Alien" movie was released in 2017 in the form of a prequel titled "Alien: Covenant". ## The new movie, meanwhile, is intended to be made for Hulu as part of the 20th Century's ambitions to make more than 10 movies a year for the Disney-operated streaming service, as per The Hollywood Reporter. The upcoming movie will be produced by Ridley Scott, who directed the original sci-fi horror movie released in 1979 and returned for two 21st century installments, under his Scott Free production banner. ## Alien and its many sequels and prequels focus on the horror of a ferocious race of alien beings called Xenomorphs, who implant eggs inside living bodies via "facehuggers" that violently burst out of chests when they reach a certain stage of maturity.## The new movie in the film series, however, will be different from the previous movies and will follow a premise that is different from the narrative of the three 'Alien' films. A couple of days ago, the Academy announced had announced the leaderboard of the fan-favorite poll, which "Spider-Man: No Way Home", along with 9 other movies. ## Now, according to surveys (via variety), the Marvel/Sony picture is clearly leading the fan-favorite poll and is the top contender to bag the trophy. A recent Morning Consult survey suggested that 26% of U.S. adults said "Spider-Man: No Way Home" was their favorite film of 2021.## Following "Spider-Man: No Way Home", Americans' favorite films of 2021 were "Encanto" (14%), "Dune" (8%), "Don't Look Up" (6%), and "Ghostbusters: Afterlife" (4%). Interestingly, Warner Bros.
