Mumbai, November 28 - Superstar Salman Khan's extended screen presence in "Antim: The Final Truth" has helped the film to end the opening weekend on a decent note at the box office. Directed by Mahesh Manjrekar, "Antim" opened over this weekend on Friday (November 26). ## With Aayush Sharma and Mahima Makawana in the lead roles, the movie netted ₹ 5.03 cr on Friday (slightly lower than expected). The strong word of mouth and positive critics reviews came to the party as the movie jumped by 19.88% (₹ 6.03) on Saturday and then by 25.21% on Sunday for ₹ 7.55 crores, for a 3-day total of ₹ 18.61 crores.## While the producers won't be too disappointed with the box office outcome of "Antim" so far, it was, however, expected to do much more than it actually did. The family audience is still hesitating to visit theaters despite the positive trend towards cinema-going. ## Meanwhile, on the other hand, John Abraham-starrer "Satyameva Jayate 2", which was released a day earlier on November 25, performed low over the opening weekend for an estimated 4-day total of ₹ 10.45 Cr. Despite seeing a slight jump on Sunday, the sequel to 2018's film fell well short of what the producers had expected from it at the box office. ## Yash Raj Films' "Bunty Aur Babli 2", is another film that didn't find its audience and was rejected at the box office. Starring Saif Ali Khan, Rani Mukerji, Sharvari Wagh, and Siddhant Chaturvedi, the sequel to 2005's hit film, netted just ₹ 11.9 crores in the opening week in India, starting from November 19. The superstar, on Saturday night, issued an appeal, requesting fans not to burst crackers inside the theatre. ## "Request all my fans not to take fire crackers inside the auditorium as it could prove to be a huge fire hazard thereby endangering your lives and also others. My request to theatre owners not to allow fire crackers to be taken inside the cinema and security should stop them from doing so at entry point. Enjoy the film by all means but please please avoid this is my request to all my fans .. thank u", Salman wrote in the caption of an Instagram post. ## While Salman urged fans to be careful with their lives and not burst crackers inside a theater, he shared another video on Sunday, in which his fans can be seen showering the poster of his film "Antim: The Final Truth" with milk. After "Squid Game" became Netflix's biggest blockbuster show ever, the latest on the list is the supernatural horror series "Hellbound". ## The show, which is directed by Yeon Sang-Ho ("Train To Busan"), has taken Netflix's number 1 spot in the list of most-watched tv shows globally within a few days of release. Just like the viewers, the show has also taken the director Yeon by surprise as he is stunned by the response it is getting. ## The show also topped Netflix's official weekly chart for non-English TV programs with 43.5 million hours of viewing for the week from November 15-21, despite having only three days to count views. Box Office: 'Dune' Becomes Warner Bros.' Second Day-And-Date Release To Gross $100M Domestically

Los Angeles, November 28 - A big box office win for Warner Bros. as Denis Villeneuve-directed sci-fi film "Dune" touched the $100 million domestic mark. It also becomes the studio's second day-and-date release in theaters and on HBO Max to reach the milestone during the covid-19 pandemic. ## Released on October 21, "Dune" took 35 days to reach $100 million domestically. It is part of Warner Bros.' controversial theatrical-day-and-date HBO Max 2021 strategy. Earlier, Warner/Legendary's "Godzilla vs. Kong", had reached the milestone, it, however, took 12 weekends to reach there. "Godzilla vs. Kong" was also the first Hollywood film to reach $100 million in North America during the pandemic. ## Dune was on HBO Max during its first 31 days in theaters. It's now exclusively theatrical, currently playing in 1,312 theaters with a Thanksgiving weekend outlook of $2.26M over three days and $3.2M since Wednesday which will bring its U.S./Canada box office total to $102.4M by Sunday. It will also surpass "Godzilla vs. Kong" total domestic gross of $100.5 million to become Warner's biggest hit of 2021. ## Internationally, where it is playing exclusively in theaters, "Dune" has grossed $270 million so far, taking its total worldwide haul to $370 million. It may not cross "Godzilla vs. Kong's" total worldwide gross of $467.8 million, but a $400 million globally will be a massive result for the studio.## Happy with the box office outcome and HBO Max streaming, Warner Bros.' has already green-lit a sequel to this epic sci-fi, based on the 1965 novel of the same name by Frank Herbert. Over the last few decades, Dune has been regarded by most critics and fans of the novel as impossible to realize on film. But, a lot of people who had never read the book, but were curious, went out and took a chance on the sci-fi epic. ## Meanwhile, Denis Villeneuve always wanted "Dune's" exclusive theatrical release. He even criticized Warner Bros.' decision to send the film on HBO Max. In a Variety column on Dec. 10 last year, Villeneuve wrote, "With this decision, AT&T has hijacked one of the most respectable and important studios in film history. There is absolutely no love for cinema, nor for the audience here".## "It is all about the survival of a telecom mammoth, one that is currently bearing an astronomical debt of more than $150 billion", and that "streaming alone can't sustain the film industry as we knew it before COVID. Streaming can produce great content, but not movies of Dune’s scope and scale. Warner Bros.' decision means Dune won't have the chance to perform financially in order to be viable and piracy will ultimately triumph. Warner Bros. might just have killed the Dune franchise. The movie, which starred Salman Khan, Anil, Kapoor, Fardeen Khan, Lara Dutta, Esha Deol, and Celina Jaitly in leading roles, was loved by the audience for its comic timings, writing, and performances. ## It has been 16 years since the film was released in cinemas. The news regarding its sequel has been making noise for many years now, going by the latest reports, it looks like that the good news about the sequel is around the corner. According to Bollywood Hungama, the sequel is titled "No Entry Mein Entry", and it will feature the original male trio in triple roles.## A source informed the portal that Bazmee is done with the scripting. It will reportedly feature 9 heroines because of the triple roles of the male actors. This is, however, not confirmed yet whether the original heroines [Lara Dutta, Esha Deol, and Celina Jaitly] will be part of the sequel but the makers are already trying to lock as many as 9 heroines for the comedy. ## It is indeed one of its kind ensembles, which, if true, has never happened in Bollywood before.
