Mumbai, November 26 - The wait for Salman Khan's fans is finally over as the superstar returns to the big screen after nearly 2 years with Antim: The Final Truth. Even though the "Bharat" actor is not playing the lead role, it is still a Salman Khan film to woo the fans. Ayush Sharma plays the lead alongside Mahima Makwana, who plays the female lead. ## Directed by Mahesh Manjrekar, "Antim: The Final Truth" is the official adaption of the hit Marathi film "Mulshi Pattern". Hyderabad, November 26 - Samantha Ruth Prabhu is on board to lead BAFTA-winning Welsh director Philip John's ("Downton Abbey"), "Arrangements of Love". It will be produced by Sunitha Tati's Guru Films, who earlier produced Samantha's Telugu film "Oh! Baby", which was a commercial success. Samir Sarkar, of Singapore's Magic Hour Films, is the executive producer of the new film.## "Arrangements of Love" is an adaptation of the bestselling 2004 novel of the same title by Indian author Timeri N. Murari. It follows a Welsh-Indian man on his quest to find his estranged father with an impromptu visit to his homeland. ## According to Variety, Samantha plays a strong-minded and funny force of nature 27-year-old, who runs her own detective agency and becomes part of the search. She is a progressive bisexual Tamil woman, with ultra-traditional parents, who want her to have an arranged marriage. As much as she wants to please her parents she also wants to be able to make her own life choices.## Speaking about the film, Samantha said, "A whole new world opens up for me today as I start my journey with 'Arrangements of Love', which has such an endearing and personal story. I am excited to work with Philip John, whose projects I have closely followed for many years, being a big fan of "Downton Abbey".## "I am looking forward to collaborating with Sunitha once again and I hope for only more success than we previously had with 'Oh! Mumbai, November 25 - Akshay Kumar-starrer "Sooryavanshi" make the best use of the first three weeks at the box office and emerged as Bollywood's first box office super hit during the covid-19 pandemic era. With not much competition, the Rohit Shetty-directed netted Rs. 184.78 crores or Rs. 218 crore gross after earning an estimated Rs. 1.05 crores on 3rd Thursday. ## "Sooryavanshi", with Rs. 18.55 crore net in the 3rd week, also becomes the highest 3rd-week earner for Akshay Kumar, overtaking "Rowdy Rathore", which had earned Rs. 14.16 crores. It has also earned more than "Sultan" (Rs. 15.84 cr.), "Golmaal Again" (Rs. 15.02 cr.), and "Kick" (Rs. 14.01 cr.) in the 3rd week. ## Released over Diwali weekend, "Sooryavanshi" has entered the list of the top 30 highest-earning Bollywood films of all time, and is likely to finish at 27th, ahead of "2.0" (Rs. 190.48 cr.) by the end of its entire box office run. Currently at the 5th spot, "Sooryavanshi" will cross "2.0" by the end of next week and will be Akshay's 4th best-earning film after "Housefull 4", "Good Newwz", and "Mission Mangal". ## For Rohit Shetty, "Sooryavanshi" is now the 4th top-grossing film after "Simmba", "Chennai Express", and "Golmaal Again" while for Katrina Kaif, who plays the female lead opposite Akshay in the film, "Sooryavanshi" has entered to top 5 highest-earning films. ## Overseas, "Sooryavanshi" has grossed an estimated Rs. 60 crores over three weeks, taking the film's total worldwide gross to Rs. 278 crores. Despite getting mixed reviews from the critics, the crime thriller has been able to touch the heart of the audience, which is clearly visible as it crossed Rs. 75 crores at the worldwide box office, earning the status of one of the biggest Malayalam grossing films. ## Directed by Srinath Rajendran, "Kurup" was one of the films that didn't succumb to lucrative OTT price. Due to the second covid-19 wave, and the closure of theaters in Kerala, there were multiple reports claiming that the big-budget film was sold to a leading OTT platform for a hefty sum. The first two positions of the Top 3 highest-grossing Malayalam films are held by the Mohanlal starring blockbusters, Lucifer and Pulimurugan. ## Dulquer Salmaan is open to doing films in every industry irrespective of language. He has successfully established himself as the most bankable young actor of contemporary Malayalam cinema, with the success of Kurup. His upcoming film "Salute", which is a cop-action thriller film, is also a Malayalam film. Mumbai, November 25 - Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan recently postponed the release date of his long-awaited comedy-drama film, "Laal Singh Chaddha" to April 14, 2022. The actor took this decision to give enough time to post-production work as he doesn't want to rush his work. ## "Laal Singh Chaddha" is a big-budget film and the makers don't want to compromise on quality. The postponement of the film, however, has confirmed a big box office clash with Yash-starrer "KGF: Chapter 2", which opens on the same date. KGF 2 is a pan India film and carries an unpreceded hype in every language. ## Aamir Kha, however, explained why he chooses April 14 release date for his film and also expressed his regret for clashing with KGF 2. "There are two ways of doing the visual effects — you can do a rush job or you can go for quality work. I didn’t want a rush job, hence I preferred to postpone the film". (according to box office worldwide).## "Ideally, I would never take a date which has already been finalized by the producer of another big film. I hate to give the impression that I am trespassing on someone else's territory, but since I am playing a Sikh for the first time in my career, the Baisakhi day seemed to be the most appropriate for the release of Laal Singh Chaddha", he added.## The actor revealed that he wrote the KGF team and explained his situation and also apologized. Before I finalized the date, I profusely apologized to the producer (Vijay Kiragandur), director (Prashanth Neel), and lead man (Yash) of KGF2. I told them how the lockdown had made matters difficult for all producers. I also explained that a Baisakhi release for my film would be ideal. They understood my viewpoint and were good enough to ask me to go ahead in spite of their film releasing on the same day".## He further added, "I had a long heart-to-heart conversation with Yash who was very supportive of my plan. I also told him that since he was an action film whereas mine was a family film as it was a love story, the two films would hopefully not eat into each other's collections. I also volunteered to promote his film. Mumbai, November 24 - China's war epic film "The Battle At Lake Changjin", which recently surpassed fellow Chinese film "Hi, Mom" to become the highest-grossing film of 2021 worldwide, has now taken over the title of a highest-grossing movie ever in China. ## Directed by Chen Kaige, Hark Tsui, and Dante Lam, "The Battle At Lake Changjin" dethrone the previous leader, 2017's "Wolf Warrior 2" through Wednesday (November 24). Lake Changjin currently stands an estimated RMB 5.693B ($890M) after 56 days in release. Wolf Warrior 2 had grossed an estimated RMB 5.68B during its entire box office run. ## Interestingly, both "Lake Changjin" and "Wolf Warrior 2" were led by actor Wu Jing among others. Wu Jing had also directed "Wolf Warrior 2". Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Zhao Lijian praised the achievement on social media, offering his "congratulations" to actor Wu Jing "for surpassing himself". ## "The Battle at Lake Changjin" is reportedly China's most expensive film ever made with a production budget of approx $200 million. It glorifies Chinese sacrifices and heroism during the real-life battle in 1950 that took place at the eastern front in the second battle of the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea.## Earlier this month, China's Film Administration outlined its 14th "Five-Year Plan" for the development of Chinese films with plans to increase movie screens, promote 10 domestic tentpoles each year, and which calls for 50 films per annum to earn more than RMB 100M ($15.6M) in the market. A Sequel To 'Clifford The Big Red Dog' Is In The Works At Paramount Pictures

Los Angeles, November 24 - A sequel to 2021's family-friendly adventure "Clifford the Big Red Dog" is in development at the Paramount Pictures studio. The first film was released simultaneously theatrically and digitally on Paramount+ on November 10, 2021.## It has generated a little over $34 million at the North American box office. Though the company didn't provide any tangible metrics, Paramount says "Clifford the Big Red Dog" has become the nascent streaming service's most-watched original film to date. ## It should be noted that Paramount Plus rebranded from CBS All Access last March with limited cinematic offerings, so "Clifford" didn't have much competition to cement its place as the streamer's most popular new film.## According to Variety, the studio has not disclosed whether the 2nd installment will play only in theaters or simultaneously on digital platforms, like the original one. ## Based on the popular children's book series, "Clifford the Big Red Dog" follows 12-year-old Emily Elizabeth, who is gifted a little red puppy. Much to her surprise, she wakes up to find the petite canine has grown overnight into a giant, 10-foot hound.## It is directed by Walt Becker from a script by Jay Scherick, David Ronn, and Blaise Hemingway. Red Notice Set To Become The Most Watched Film On Netflix

Mumbai, November 24 - The art-heist thriller "Red Notice" has turned into gold for streaming giant Netflix. Starring Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot, and Ryan Reynolds in leading roles, "Red Notice" is on track to become the most-watched film on the streamer in its first 28 days of release. ## Released on November 12 (Netflix), "Red Notice" broke into streamer's Top 10 Most Popular English Films of all time this past week, registering 277.9 million hours viewed. In just 11 days of release, it hit the 2nd spot on the Netflix chart and is about to surpass the current No. 1 holder, "Bird Box", which raked in 282 million hours viewed in its first 28 days. ## Netflix released the new data, which ranks its most popular titles based on viewing hours, as part of its revamped and expanded Top 10 lists. Netflix says the metrics will be audited by EY, with results to be released in 2022.## In the first 3 days of release (12-14 Nov.), "Red Notice" raked in 148.7 million hours viewed and was the number 1 movie in the first three days. From November 15 to November 21, it dropped to the 2nd spot and gained 129.1 million hours viewed. During the same period, "The Princess Switch 3: Romancing the Star" scored 24.77 million hours viewed and secured the top spot. ## "Red Notice" is directed and written by Rawson Marshall Thurber.
