Shahid Kapoor Feels Blessed To Have A Release Date For 'Jersey' In Theaters

Mumbai, November 24 - The trailer of the much-awaited sports drama "Jersey", starring Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur, was launched on Tuesday (November 23) during an event. Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, "Jersey" is the official Hindi remake of a Nani-starrer Telugu movie of the same name. ## In the movie, Shahid Kapoor plays the role of a former cricket player who wants to get back to the game to inspire his son while Mrunal Thakur plays his wife. "Jersey" is one of the many films held back to release in theaters owning to the covid-19 pandemic. Despite many challenges, the movie is now gearing up for release on December 31st worldwide. ## Shahid, during the trailer launch event, said that he is feeling blessed that "Jersey" is releasing in theaters and also said that the team excitedly waiting for Akshay Kumar's Sooryavanshi to release first and do well at the box office. ## "Content is traveling in many different ways right now and I am so happy that I worked with this team. The comedy entertainer, starring Diljit Dosanjh, Shehnaaz Gill, Sonam Bajwa, and Shinda Grewal was released over Dussehra weekend (October 15). Over the first weekend, it grossed Rs. 17 crores worldwide. ## Directed by Amarjit Singh Saron, "Honsla Rakh" remained solid throughout, and currently, it is the second highest-grossing Punjabi film of the covid-19 pandemic with Rs. 53.35 crores worldwide over 38 days. It is now gearing up to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on November 24. Mumbai, November 23 - Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has often shared his love for theaters, especially for single-screen cinemas. Before the covid-19 pandemic, the superstar was planning to launch his own theater chain in small towns, however, the pandemic put the plans on hold. ## However, as things started getting to normalcy and theaters across the country have reopened, Salman Khan revealed in a recent interview that his project Salman Talkies is still in the works. Salman confirmed that he indeed had plans to open up theatres and hopefully, it will be sometime soon, according to News18. ## "We were planning it but everything was put on hold. Slowly we will get back to it, but definitely someday. We had planned to open them up in smaller towns where people didn’t have access to theatres. Not here in cities like Mumbai", Salman told TOI. ## According to a 2018 report by Mumbai Mirror (via News18), Salman Talkies was going to be a chain of theatres where tickets would be tax-free and available at subsidized rates and free for children from underprivileged backgrounds. The actor had also met several producers, distributors, and exhibitors to execute his plan and understand the market for theatre in a better way. ## The report had mentioned that the chain was expected to flag off in Maharashtra and later expanded to other states over the next ten years. In India, despite being the second most populated country in the world, people in small towns don't have access to theaters. Mumbai, November 23 - Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon-starrer "Bhediya", which gearing up to release next year, is a step forward in Maddock Films' horror-comedy genre. The studio behind the successful horror-comedy films like "Stree" and "Roohi" is leaving no stone unturned to make "Bhediya" one of its a kind monster comedies with the international crew coming on board to design the action scenes and VFX. ## Directed by Amar Kaushik (Stree, Bala), "Bhediya" is currently scheduled to release on April 14, 2022. While the shooting has already been completed recently, the latest reports suggest that the release of this much-awaited has been postponed to the next year-end. ## It is said that the VFX work on "Bhediya", which is reportedly being done by Moving Picture Company (1917, The Jungle Book, The Lion King, Harry Potter), is taking longer than expected, which resulted in the postponement of the film by at least 6 months. ## "It's a new genre, and the team is looking to create a big-screen experience with not just the never seen before visuals, but also some unique sound effects meant for the cinema halls. The film will now be released in the last quarter of 2022 between the October to December window", a source told Pinkvilla. ## Varun Dhawan will have two releases next year. His romantic family drama film, "Jug Jugg Jeeyo", which also stars Anil Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Kiara Advani was recently announced to release on June 24, 2022. On the other hand, Kriti Sanon will have at least 5 releases in 2022. Apart from "Bhediya", she has "Bachchan Pandey" with Akshay Kumar, scheduled to release on 4 March, and magnum opus "Adipurush" with Prabhas on 11 August. ## Kriti is currently filming for "Ganapath - Part 1" with Tiger Shroff. The futurist action thriller is slated for December 23, 2022, release. The "Mimi" actress also reunite with Kartik Aaryan after "Luka Chupi" for "Shehzada". Chennai, November 21 - Ever since actor Suriya's Tamil film "Jai Bhim" has released on Amazon Prime Video, it has triggered a new spot of controversy. Despite winning accolades for making such a hard-hitting film, the social drama film is being subjected to show the Vanniyar community in a bad light. ## While the makers of the film, including actor Suriya, are facing criticism, director Tha Se Gnanavel, feels responsible for all the trouble Suriya facing for doing this film. On Sunday, Gnanavel posted a statement on Twitter and said that he regretted the trouble Suriya was facing on his account.## "The welcome that 'Jai Bhim' got from all segments has brought us happiness. In the same way, I did not actually expect some opinions that have gone against the film", he said in a statement, claiming that he did not know that a calendar that was in the background would be construed as an identity of a community. ## He explained that the intention behind placing the calendar there was only to manifest the idea that the year was 1995. "None of us had any intention of showing the calendar as an identity of any community. When I got to know about the calendar from social media on the night of November 1, after the film had released on Prime Video, all efforts were made to immediately get the calendar changed on the morning of November 2 itself", he added. ## Stating that it was unfortunate that actor Suriya was being asked to take responsibility for something that he, as director, was solely responsible for, Gnanavel said he wished to express his regret for the difficulty it had caused to Suriya. It is based on a true incident in 1993, which involves a case fought by Justice K. Chandru. It revolves around the lives of Senggeni and Rajakannu, a couple from the Irular tribe. Rajakannu was arrested by the police and was later missing from the police station. Senggeni seeks the help of an advocate Chandru to seek justice for her husband. Chandru files a habeas corpus case and he refers Rajan case to continue further to find the truth.## The film stars Suriya playing the role of Justice Chandru, with Lijomol Jose, K.
