Los Angeles, June 2, 2021: Marvel Studios has wrapped up the filming of its next superhero movie in the Thor franchise - Thor: Love and Thunder starring Chris Hemsworth as Thor. Marvel will now head to post-production work with just 9 months to go for worldwide theatrical release on 6 May 2022. ## The movie is intended to be the direct sequel to Thor: Ragnarok (2017). Produced by Kevin Feige of Marvel Studios, the film marks the return of Natalie Portman as Jane Foster in the Thor franchise after missing out in Thor: Ragnarok. ICC Champions Trophy To Return After 8 Years As ICC Announces Next Cycle Of FTP

Mumbai, June 1, 2021: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the return of the Champions Trophy which was scrapped after the 2017 edition won by Pakistan, in the next cycle of the Future Tours Programme. The eight-year cycle of the FTP starting from 2024 to 2031, will mark the return of the Champions Trophy after 8 years in 2025. ## The World Cricket Body has also approved 14 teams for the 50-over World Cup and 20 teams for the Twenty20 World Cup. The decisions were taken by the all-powerful executive board meeting of the ICC, which was held virtually on Tuesday (June 1). ## In the 50-over world cup, ICC has decided to follow the 2003 world cup format. The 14 teams will be split into two groups with the top three from each group making it to the Super Six. The four best teams will then proceed to the semi-final followed by the final. A total of 54 matches will be held in the ODI World Cup in 2027 and 2031. ## The T20 World Cup will see the 20 teams split into four groups with the top two teams from each group progressing to the next stage - the Super Eight - which will then be followed by the semifinals and the final. Four T20 World Cups have been scheduled to be held in 2024, 2026, 2028, and 2030, will comprise 55 matches each. ## The ICC has also confirmed that the World Test Championship Final will be played in 2025, 2027, 2029, and in 2031. The hosts of the 12 ICC tournaments for the Men's events will be finalized in September this year with the selection process getting underway this month. ## "Having the ICC event schedule confirmed through to 2031 is a significant step forward for cricket and will form the basis of our growth strategy for the next decade", ICC Acting Chief Executive Geoff Allardice said. "The revised approach to selecting hosts for our events will give us much more flexibility to grow the game and engage new fans.## "There is a smaller pool of countries with the infrastructure needed to host our senior Men's events which narrows the selection process. FWICE Writes To Maharashtra CM Requesting Permission To Resume Work

Mumbai, June 1, 2021: The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) wrote a letter to Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Monday (May 31), requesting him to allow the resumption of work in the media and entertainment (M&E) industry.## Films and television shooting is currently on hold owing to the second wave of the Covid pandemic as the Maharasthra government has extended lockdown in the state for 15 more days. The FWICE wrote in the letter that the film body sent numerous requests regarding the resumption of work but nothing happened. ## "With reference to the subject matter, we would like to draw your attention to the numerous requests sent to you by the FWICE and the coordination committee regarding our request for resumption of work in the M&E Industry. However, none of our letters have been responded to by your good office and no decision has been taken on our requests", FWICE wrote in the letter signed by Chief Advisor Ashoke Pandit, President BN Tiwari, Chief Advisor Sharad Shelar, General Secretary Ashok Dubey, and Treasurer Gangeshwar Shrivastav. ## "Sir, let us apprise you that there are lakhs of artists, workers, and technicians who are jobless for the past one and half years and that the only source of income for them is from the M&E Industry. This industry has been providing work to lakhs of hands and enabling their families to earn their daily bread. However, the lockdown of the Industry has impacted the lives of these daily wage workers who have absolutely no other source of income and are totally dependent on the work of the Industry". ## "The announcement of the extension of the lockdown for another 15 days shall really be a setback for these deprived set of artists, workers and technicians and also the economy of the Industry. Not only the workers but the producers are also affected badly with huge investments already made into the running projects which have been to a standstill due to the unfortunate lockdown". ## "We being the mother body of 32 different crafts of artists, workers, and technicians of the industry have been receiving numerous calls from our members regarding their difficult survival conditions and requesting us to start the work of the Industry", the letter read. ## The FWICE assured the government that all the rules and regulations of the Government shall be followed by each and every crew member and all necessary precautions shall be taken at each work location.## Stay tuned...

Chennai, June 1, 2021: Tamil superstar Dhanush's most-awaited film, Jagame Thandhiram's trailer was launched on Tuesday, June 1. The movie, which marks the first collaboration between the actor and director Karthik Subbaraj, will premiere directly on Netflix on June 18. ## The trailer shows Dhanush in the role of a Madurai-based witty gangster called Suruli. He travels to London to take on a local gangster named Peter Sprott, played by Hollywood actor James Cosmo of Game of Thrones fame. James Cosmo plays the role of a London-based mafia boss and shares a bitter relationship with Suruli. ## Produced by Y NOT Studios, and Reliance Entertainment, Jagame Thandhiram was supposed to release in theaters in May last year but was delayed indefinitely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Earlier this year, Dhanush mentioned that the movie is made for the big screen only, however, in February, the producer S Sashikanth of Y Not Studio decided to release it against theaters on Netflix. ## As Dhanush was quite confident about the theatrical release, the decision of the direct OTT release on Netflix did disappoint him. Mumbai, May 31, 2021: The Producers Guild of India (PGI), the association of Indian film, television, and digital content producers, on Monday, announced a vaccination drive for its members and associated production crews beginning from June 1.## According to a press release, the PGI said the members will be vaccinated over the multi-day drive to be held at Mehboob Studios in suburban Bandra. Through these camps, thousands of production house personnel and crews will be vaccinated. ## Siddharth Roy Kapur, President of the Producers Guild of India, said the initiative was key to getting the film industry back on its feet amid the coronavirus pandemic.## "An activity of such importance and magnitude cannot be carried out singlehandedly and we are extremely grateful for the support we have received to make this possible", Kapur said in a statement.## He also thanked the production banner "Excel Entertainment who played a pivotal role in securing the vaccines and Mehboob Productions who very generously offered complimentary use of the spacious Mehboob Studios".## "We are happy that we are able to provide this facility to our members, their employees, and the cast and crew of their productions as we work to get the industry back on its feet again in the weeks ahead," Kapur added.## Keeping the coronavirus situation in mind, the government of India allowed a vaccination drive for 18+ aged from May 1st. It stars Akshay Kumar as Prithviraj Chauhan along with Manushi Chhillar makes her Hindi film debut by playing his beloved wife Sanyogita. This movie is based on Prithviraj Raso, a Braj Bhasha epic poem by Chand Bardai about the life of Prithviraj Chauhan. ## Prithviraj was announced in March 2019 and was supposed to release on Diwali 2020, but due to the covid-19 pandemic, it was postponed as the shoot was yet to be completed. The shoot resumed in October 2020 at YRF Studios, and it is now scheduled to release in theatres on 5 November 2021 coinciding with Diwali. ## While the film has already been delayed by a year, the makers of Prithviraj, find themselves in the hot water because of the film's title. The Karni Sena - a Rajput organization, has raised an objection around the title of the film and demanded it to be changed to Prithviraj Chauhan's full name as a mark of respect to him. ## Filmmaker Surjeet Singh Rathore, President of the Youth Wing of the Karni Sena said, "How can they keep the title of the film as just 'Prithviraj' when the film is based on the great Prithviraj Chauhan? We want the title to be changed to his full name and give respect to him". ## The Karni Sena does not stop with just title change as they have other conditions too. They have demanded that the film has to be shown to them first before its release. Singh said, "If they don't listen to our advice they will have to face the consequences.
