Hyderabad, August 31 - Natural star Nani's action thriller Saripodhaa Sanivaaram is heading towards emerging as a box-office success after a good first three days. It comes as a needed breather for the Telugu film industry after the disastrous Independence Day week releases.## Directed by Vivek Athreya, Saripodhaa Sanivaaram had a good first 2 days with a worldwide box collection of approximately 28.50 crores gross, including approximately 17.50 crores domestically. The movie is having a very good first Saturday (3rd day), expected to be around 10 crore gross domestically.## The movie is heading towards 43+ crores worldwide gross after the 3rd day, and this is one of the biggest opening weekends for a Telugu title of 2024. Interestingly, it has outgrossed the combined total of Independence Day Telugu releases, Double iSmart and Mr. Bachchan. ## The Ram Pothineni-fronted Double iSmart has grossed only 20 crores so far while Ravi Teja's Mr. Bachchan has made only 14 crores worldwide. Both films have almost completed their run at the box office with a disastrous combined total of 34 crores which has been outgrossed by Nani-starrer in just 3 days. ## Saripodhaa Sanivaaram needs to score a gross collection of around 70 crores at the worldwide box office to emerge as a hit. Mumbai, August 19 - The Indian Box Office delivered 350+ crores gross collection during the Independence Day weekend (August 15-18). Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-fronted horror-comedy Stree 2 led the pack with a monstrous 230 crore gross, which is almost 2/3 of the total collection. ## Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree 2 has had the second-biggest opening weekend of 2024 in India after Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD which grossed approximately 370 crores in its 4-day first weekend. While Kalki 2898 AD was a multilingual movie, Stree 2 was in just the Hindi language. ## Apart from Stree 2, the other movies failed to capitalise on the big opportunity during the long weekend. Chiyaan Vikram's Thangalaan was the second biggest domestic grosser with approximately 33.75 crores collection which is underwhelming. The fellow Tamil title Demonte Colony 2, however, performed well with approximately 17.75 crores gross against minimum expectations.## Akshay Kumar's Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham-fronted Vedaa, which were expected to do well during the Holiday period, failed without making much noise with approximately 17 crores gross and 16.50 crores gross domestic collection, respectively. ## The other two films which failed miserably at the box office are the Telugu movies, Double iSmart and Mr. Bachchan which grossed approximately 13.75 crores and 9.50 crores, respectively. Hyderabad, August 14 - Telugu star Ram Pothineni's much-awaited sci-fi action drama film Double iSmart is finally hitting the big screen on August 15 and the movie is looking to make big at the box office during the long holiday weekend due to Independence Day and Raksha Bandhan.## Directed by Puri Jagannadh and also starring Sanjay Dutt and Kavya Thapar, Double iSmart has managed to fetch record theatrical business for Ram Pothineni-starrer.
