Mumbai, August 20 - Maddock Films and Jio Studios' horror-comedy Stree 2 has topped 1 crore (10 million) footfalls in just 5 days at the Indian box office, becoming the second fastest movie of 2024 to achieve the feat after Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD which did this in just 3 days.## Starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, Stree 2 has sold approximately 1.15 crores of tickets for the first five days + previews. It is the second Bollywood movie of the year to score 10 million or more footfalls after Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone's Fighter which generated 1.17 crore footfalls.## Overall, Stree 2 has become the 5th film of the year to sell 10 million or more tickets at the Indian box office, which also includes Telugu blockbusters - Kalki (3.63+ crores), and Hanuman (1.44 crores) along with the all-time highest-grossing Malayalam movie, Manjummel Boys (1.16 crores). ## At the box office, Stree 2 has grossed approximately 275 crores domestically in 5 days which makes it the biggest Bollywood grosser of the year after beating Fighter (254 crores gross). Mumbai, August 19 - Maddock Films and Jio Studios blockbuster Stree 2 once again hits it out of the park on its first Monday as the collection comfortably topped Friday numbers by a good margin due to the Raksha Bandhan holiday. ## According to the early estimates, the Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-fronted horror-comedy scored in the range of 36-38 crores net collection on its first Monday (5th day). This takes the total collection of the film to around 228 crores net which is sensational.## The movie is performing exceptionally well everywhere, especially in the mass belt which is going crazy. The Raksha Bandhan holiday provides an additional boost, especially in Gujarat. ## The holiday period is over but Stree 2 is expected to maintain a strong hold due to the super positive public reception and lack of competition from other movies. The movie was average box office success which temporarily put breaks on the franchise.## It is reported that Saif has been discussing Race 4 with producer Ramesh Taurani for a while now and the duo has finally come to the agreement of rebooting the franchise with Race 4. The horror-comedy, starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, down Hrithik Roshan's Fighter in just 5 days to become the number 1 Bollywood title of the year. ## Fighter, released during the Republic Day weekend, scored approximately 212.75 crores net/255 crores gross in its lifetime run and Stree 2 has surpassed this total in under 5 days. Directed by Amar Kaushik, the movie is looking to score 30+ crores net on its 5th day which will take its total collection to 220+ crores net. ## Meanwhile, Stree 2 has beaten Chhichhore (153 crores net) along with Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar (147 crores net) and Saaho (145 crores net) on its 4th day to become Shraddha Kapoor's highest-grossing movie domestically in Hindi. As reported earlier, it is the actress' 7th movie to top 100 crores net and first to breach 200 crores mark. ## In terms of the Hindi box office, Stree 2 is currently behind Kalki 2898 AD (293+ crores net) as the second biggest grosser of the year. Mumbai, August 19 - The Indian Box Office delivered 350+ crores gross collection during the Independence Day weekend (August 15-18). Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-fronted horror-comedy Stree 2 led the pack with a monstrous 230 crore gross, which is almost 2/3 of the total collection. ## Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree 2 has had the second-biggest opening weekend of 2024 in India after Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD which grossed approximately 370 crores in its 4-day first weekend. While Kalki 2898 AD was a multilingual movie, Stree 2 was in just the Hindi language. ## Apart from Stree 2, the other movies failed to capitalise on the big opportunity during the long weekend. Chiyaan Vikram's Thangalaan was the second biggest domestic grosser with approximately 33.75 crores collection which is underwhelming. The fellow Tamil title Demonte Colony 2, however, performed well with approximately 17.75 crores gross against minimum expectations.## Akshay Kumar's Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham-fronted Vedaa, which were expected to do well during the Holiday period, failed without making much noise with approximately 17 crores gross and 16.50 crores gross domestic collection, respectively. ## The other two films which failed miserably at the box office are the Telugu movies, Double iSmart and Mr. Bachchan which grossed approximately 13.75 crores and 9.50 crores, respectively. Mumbai, August 19 - Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao's horror-comedy blockbuster Stree 2 has had a sensational extended first weekend at the worldwide box office which saw it crossing all but Fighter to already become the second biggest Bollywood grosser of 2024 in just 4 days. ## Directed by Amar Kaushik, the blockbuster sequel is simply unstoppable in India, earning approximately 191.50 crores net (230 crores gross) collection in the first 4 days+previews. With this, it has become the second biggest Bollywood grosser domestically after Fighter which scored approximately 255 crores gross in India. ## Stree 2 will outgross Fighter with its 5th-day collection which will make it the number 1 Bollywood title of the year at the Indian box office. Mumbai, August 18 - Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-fronted Stree 2 has a monstrous first 4-day weekend at the domestic box office with close to 200 crores net collection after the historic Sunday total of 50+ crores net. ## The Amar Kaushik's directorial blockbuster has had its second 50+ crores net day and the biggest so far in its short run so far. According to the early estimates, the horror-comedy scored in the range of 55 crores net (+/-), which takes its total collection to around 190 crores in just 4 days.## Despite the heavy competition, Stree 2 has been performing like a solo frontloaded blockbuster and the opening weekend numbers are proof of that. It will be a Pan India movie and is expected to start rolling next year after the duo of Aamir and Lokesh complete their ongoing projects.## Aamir is the latest in the famous Khan trio to collaborate with a South Indian director. On its third day (first Saturday), it scored an estimated 43+ crores net and with that, the movie has crossed the 100 crore mark, becoming the 4th Bollywood movie and 10th Indian movie of the year to do so.## Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree 2 is the 7th film of Shraddha Kapoor and the second for Rajkummar Rao (after Stree) to top 100 crores net collection. Mumbai, August 15 - Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-fronted horror-comedy Stree 2 has stormed the box office and put all the projections in the backburners to score one of the biggest openings of all time and easily the biggest for a movie released on Independence Day (August 15). ## According to the early estimates, Maddock Films' production is expected to score in the range of 45-47 crores net which is among the top 10 starts in Hindi ever. It just went overdrive with houseful boards everywhere, carrying exceptional occupancies.## It is quite remarkable that a film which was expected to open in the range of 25 crores net max a few weeks back and was up against two other big Bollywood movies, exceeded those expectations to put up these numbers which is easily the biggest ever for a non-superstar title. ## The opening of Stree 2 is almost double that of the previous biggest starters, Kalki 2898 AD and Fighter which opened to 22.50 crores net each in 2024.
