Shah Rukh Khan's 'King' To Release On Eid 2026

Mumbai, September 13 - After the historic comeback in 2023 with three back-to-back big blockbusters, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is taking time before starting his next film, titled King which with director Sujoy Ghosh under production Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix. ## King has been in the pre-production work for a while now and was supposed to go on floors by the end of this year. However, the makers are being extra careful before starting the shoot which has now been delayed to January 2026, according to the report by Pinkvilla. ## It is said that the first schedule of King will commence in Mumbai in January 2025, followed by a marathon schedule in Europe. The makers have done multiple rounds of recce in Europe to identify virgin locations that bring scale to the film. ## The film will be shot until August/September 2025 due to multiple changes in the locations. As reported earlier, the movie will miss a 2025 release which the makers were originally eyeing, and as per the latest report, it will now be hitting the big screen on Eid 2026. ## If the movie indeed makes it to the Eid 2026 slot, it will be Shah Rukh Khan's first film to release on this particular festival since Chennai Express (2013) which was a blockbuster. ## King is said to be an action thriller, unlike any other film Shah Rukh Khan has done so far. Mumbai, September 13 - The biggest Indian blockbuster of the year, Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-fronted horror-comedy Stree 2 is racing towards 550 crores net collection after the excellent fourth week at the domestic box office. ## The Amar Kaushik's directorial sensation scored approximately 36 crores net. This has made it the biggest 4th week-grosser in Hindi, beating superstar Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan (34).50 crores net). Mumbai, September 12 - The fifth instalment of the blockbuster Housefull franchise is one of the most-awaited and biggest Bollywood films in the making. Akshay Kumar returns to headline this comic caper for the fifth time in a row and the movie is gearing up to commence filming on September 15 in London. ## As the movie is about to commence the shoot, the makers have locked the entire star cast which features over a dozen actors involving male and female leads. As reported earlier, the male cast of the film, led by Akshay, includes Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Fardeen Khan, Nana Patekar, Chunky Pandey, Jackie Shroff, and Dinoo Morea among others. ## Now, according to the latest report by Pinkvilla, producer Sajid Nadiadwala and the team have locked in 5 female leads to complete the ensemble. Mumbai, September 11 - Ajay Devgn-fronted crime thriller Raid 2 has officially been postponed to February next year. The movie is directed by Raj Kumar Gupta and also stars Riteish Deshmukh and Vaani Kapoor in the prominent roles. ## Raid 2, which is the sequel to Raid (2018), will be hitting worldwide theaters on February 21, 2025. It was supposed to be released on November 15 this year but due to another film of Ajay scheduled to be released in November in the form of Singham Again, the makers have pushed Raid 2 back by nearly 4 months. ## Just like the first movie, Raid 2 is also based on true incidents. Ajay Devgn returns to reprise his role as IRS officer Amay Patnaik, who tracks another white-collar crime. It all began with his comeback film, Pathaan before Jawan outdid it with its phenomenal performance, followed by the third success of the year in the form of Dunki. ## Pathaan redefined the stardom of Shah Rukh Khan by becoming his first 1000 crores gross grosser before director Atlee's Jawan took it to the next level and turned out to be one of the biggest Pan India blockbusters of all time. Jawan has turned a year old after getting unleashed at the box office on this day (September 7) last year.## The action thriller was one of the first major collaborations between a South Indian director and a Bollywood superstar in recent times, and this collaboration turned out to be one of the most talked about for redefining the mass genre in Indian cinema. It was mounted on a huge scale and featured many mass moments to turn the theatres into stadiums.## Jawan was a box office phenomenon from day 1 and it broke several records in India and overseas. Mumbai, September 5 - Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-fronted mega-blockbuster horror-comedy Stree 2 has entered the 500 crores net club, becoming the first film of 2024 and 6th of all time to achieve the feat in the Hindi language.## Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree 2 entered the 500 crores net club on its 22nd day, becoming the second fastest after Shah Rukh Khan-fronted Jawan (18 days) to do so in Hindi. Sunny Deol's Gadar 2 is the third fastest in the list with 24 days. ## The sequel to 2018's film scored approximately 498 crores net in 21 days and is expected to be 503+ crores net at the end of its 22nd day (4th Thursday). August 2024 Indian Box Office Report

Mumbai, September 5 - August 2024 show some of the most-awaited films getting released but none could leave a mark at the Indian box office, except for mega-blockbuster success of Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-fronted horror-comedy Stree 2, along with Tamil movies Demonte Colony 2, and Raayan, and Telugu title Saripodhaa Sanivaaram.## Despite the mixed bag of successes, August proved to be the biggest-grossing month of the year (so far) at the Indian box office, thanks to the monstrous contribution from Stree 2. The IBO delivered approximately 1100 crores gross collection in August, with almost 50% contribution from Stree 2.## Amar Kaushik's directorial was easily the highest-grossing film in India in Independence Day month, with an approximate gross collection of 540 crores, almost 13X of the second biggest grosser of the month, Vikram-starrer Tamil movie Thangalaan which grossed approximately 42 crores.## There were 3 major Bollywood releases in August, and other than Stree 2, Akshay Kumar-fronted comedy drama Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham's action thriller Vedaa proved to be failures with approximately 33 crores gross, and 25 crores gross, respectively. ## Among the Telugu titles, Double iSmart and Mr. Bachchan ended up as huge disasters while the only saving grace for the industry came towards the end of the month in the form of Nani-starrer Saripodhaa Sanivaaram which was the highest-grossing Telugu movie in August with 26 crores gross (3 days only).## For Tamil, other than Thangalaan which underperformed, it was Dhanush-starrer Raayan which released in July with a blockbuster collection and continued the momentum in August to add another 36 crores gross collection to its total and was the biggest Tamil grosser of the month. Horror thriller Demonte Colony 2 also proved to be a success with approximately 35 crores gross in Tamil. ## The total domestic collection in August was the highest of the year, beating January which delivered approximately 1025 crores in gross collection in India.
