'Fast X' Scored An Excellent Opening Weekend In India and The Worldwide Box Office

Los Angeles, May 21 - The 10th main installment in the Universal Pictures' "Fast & Furious" franchise, Fast X has an excellent opening weekend at the worldwide box office. ## The high-octane action thriller scored $318.50 million (2640 crores) worldwide in its opening weekend, including $67 million at the domestic (North America) box office. Domestically, the movie opened slightly lower than the last movie "F9 - The Fast Saga" which grossed $70 million.## While the movie scored on the expected lines in North America, it surpassed expectations internationally by grossing $251.50 million over the 5-day weekend. China was the biggest market for the movie with $78.30 million over a 5-weekend weekend, including previews.## Meanwhile, the Louis Leterrier's directorial flick scored a fantastic 4-day opening weekend in India, grossing an estimated 71 crores ($8.6 million) or 60 crores net collection. This is the biggest opening for a Hollywood title in India this year, outgrossing Marvel's "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania". ## Overall, $319 million of "Fast X" is the second biggest worldwide opening of 2023, behind only "The Super Mario Bros. Cannes, May 21 - Panorama Studios in association with Korea's Anthology Studios announced the official remake of the blockbuster Drishyam franchise in the Korean language.## The official announcement of the "Drishyam" Korean remake was made today (21 May 2023) at India Pavilion, managed by FICCI, during the ongoing Cannes Film Festival. Chennai, May 21 - Amid the speculations, filmmaker Venkat Prabhu has officially been confirmed to direct Thalapathy Vijay's next, tentatively titled Thalapathy 68. The movie will be produced by Kalpathi S Aghoram's AGS Entertainment while Yuvan Shankar Raja is on board to compose the music. ## "Thalapathy 68" marks the maidan collaboration between Thalapathy Vijay and director Venkat Prabhu, who recently directed Tamil-Telugu bilingual movie "Custody" starring Naga Chaitanya. AGS Entertainment, which previously produced Thalapathy Vijay's blockbuster "Bigil", is excited about the second collaboration. ## "This will be AGS's biggest film so far. Los Angeles, May 20 - Universal Pictures' action thriller Fast X is all set to score above the initial box office projections at the worldwide box office. ## The Louis Leterrier's directorial latest installment in the "Fast and Furious" franchise shoot to $28 million Friday opening day, including $7.5 million Thursday previews, at the domestic box office. ## According to Variety, the movie is expected to gross another $22.40 million on Saturday and $16.80 million on Sunday for a $67 million opening weekend. This opening is around 4% lesser than "F9: The Fast Saga" which opened to $70 million in 2021.## Internationally, "Fast X" is estimated to earn over $250 million in its 5-day opening weekend for around $320 million worldwide launch. It will be the second-biggest worldwide opening of 2023, behind "The Super Mario Bros. Movie" which earned over $380 million in its opening weekend.## Meanwhile, the film is having a very good opening weekend in India and is projected to earn $8.40 million/70 crores in 4-days. Kochi, May 20 - The all-time blockbuster Malayalam movie continues to amaze the audiences and is having a super solid trend at the box office.## While the movie is performing exceptionally well at the box office, the overseas collections are rather stunning. Internationally, "2018" has grossed 56.60 crores in 15 days, which is an all-time record for a Malayalam movie. ## Directed by Jude Anthany Joseph, "2018" has crossed the lifetime overseas collection of Mohanlal's "Lucifer" which grossed approx. 50 crores in 2019, to become the highest-grossing Malayalam movie. The movie continues to perform above expectations internationally. ## Meanwhile, "2018" will also become the all-time highest-grossing Malayalam movie in the original Malayalam version with today's collection. Los Angeles, May 20 - The DC Studios' biggest bet this year, The Flash is getting ready to release this June. It is the first solo movie for DC's iconic superhero characters on the big screen, which will bring Michael Keaton's Batman along with a few other key heroes and villains. ## DC has been all over for the last few years and finding it difficult to win over the hearts of the audiences. "The Flash" too has been in the hot water because of Ezra Miller's controversial past. So, there is a common question about whether the movie will succeed or will meet the same fate as the previous couple of DC movies. ## Directed by Andy Muschietti, "The Flash" involves a solid star power, and given the high cost, Warner Bros. will be hoping and praying for its success. The best thing that has happened with the movie so far is that it is carrying immensely positive talks as the people who have watched it are calling it one of the best superhero movies ever made, and one of them includes Tom Cruise.## The first box office projection for "The Flash", revealed by Box Office Pro is definitely painting a highly positive picture.
