Mumbai, May 18 - Director Lokesh Kanagaraj's maidan collaboration with Thalapathy Vijay "Master" was a big blockbuster and now, the duo has reunited for gangster drama Leo which is even bigger in terms of budget and scale. ## The "Leo" shoot is going on at a brisk pace and is on track for its worldwide release on October 19, 2023, in multiple languages. While Thalapathy Vijay plays the title release, the movie boosts with a solid star cast which includes Sanjay Dutt, and Trisha Krishnan, among others. ## Now, according to Pinkvilla, Sanjay Dutt will be seen playing the role of Thalapathy Vijay's father in the movie. The report says both Thalapathy Vijay and Sanjay Dutt will be seen as a gangster and share a unique dynamic in Leo. ## Thalapathy Vijay plays the role of a gangster in his 40s, who is staying in Kashmir, away from the world of gang wars by running a chocolate factory. The movie is packed with elevation scenes, action blocks, and high-octane drama with inter-character conflicts said to be one of the major highlights. ## The shoot of the movie is expected to be wrapped by July and then the makers will have enough time in the post-production work to ready the movie for October release. Mumbai, May 18 - Director Sudipto Sen's drama film The Kerala Story crossed the 200 crores gross mark at the worldwide box office within two weeks, becoming only the third Bollywood movie of the year to do so. ## The movie, based on true incidents, hits the double-century mark on its 13th day and currently stands at a little over 200 crores gross mark. In India, The Kerala Story has grossed approx. 194 crores (164.59 crores net) while the overseas collection is approx. 6 crores in 13 days.## The Kerala Story was released on May 12 in overseas markets and will debut in the UK on May 19. Made on a low budget, TKS has emerged as one of the biggest blockbusters post the covid-19 pandemic. Mumbai, May 18 - Telugu actor Nani's period action drama film Dasara is getting ready for its post-theatrical streaming release on Netflix. The movie was released theatrically in March of this year and went on to become a big hit in the original Telugu version with a worldwide gross collection of over 100 crores.## Directed by debutante Srikanth Odela, "Dasara" was a Pan India release, however, it failed badly in other languages without making any impact. Netflix acquired the post-theatrical rights of the film in all languages, however, it hold back the Hindi premiere of the movie while other versions are already streaming. ## A section of the Hindi audiences has been asking for the film's Hindi premiere ever since the other versions debuted online. Bengaluru, May 18 - Social media has been buzzing with the rumor over the last few days that Prabhas-fronted much-awaited action drama film Salaar has been postponed from its September release date. ## The rumour of the film's postponement left fans disappointed, and they can't be blamed as the makers have been tight-lipped in providing genuine updates regarding the progress of the film. However, despite the not many updates, the shoot of this Prashanth Neel's directorial is believed to be nearing its end. ## Now, when the rumours are getting loud, Hombale Films, the production house of the movie, has officially confirmed that the movie will be released on its originally scheduled September 28, 2023. Mumbai, May 17 - The Kerala Story is not going to stop anytime soon as it continues to stay over its opening day collection despite nearing its second week. ## After becoming the second highest-grossing Bollywood movie of the year in just 12 days, the blockbuster hit scored an estimated 9-9.50 crores net collection on its second Wednesday. The movie sees a drop of just around 5% which is a remarkable hold. ## The total collection of the movie now reached around 166 crores net, including around 1.50 crores net in the dubbed Telugu version. The weekend of the film is looking to be around 94 crores with two weeks' collections nearing 175 crores net. ## The Kerala Story will cross 200 crores net collection either on its 3rd Saturday or Sunday and become only the 4th Bollywood movie post the covid-19 pandemic to breach this box office milestone. Mumbai, May 17 - Sunny Deol-fronted romantic period action drama film Gadar: Ek Prem Katha with director Anil Sharma was released in June 2001 and went on to become the highest-grossing Indian film.## Over the year, "Gadar" gained cult status with immense popularity among all age groups, and now, the makers are coming with its sequel Gadar: The Katha Continues which is gearing up for its release in August this year. It is set 20 years after the first film and will see Sunny Deol reprising his role along with Ameesha Patel, and grown-up Utkarsh Sharma. ## Now, the makers are planning to re-release "Gadar" in cinemas in a 4K version ahead of its sequel's release. According to Pinkvilla, "Gadar" will be re-released in cinema halls all across the country on June 9, which coincides with the week in which Gadar was released back in the day. ## It is said to be a proper wide re-release as it will also be released in single screens along with multiplex chains. Cannes, May 17 - Johnny Depp's first leading role in nearly three years, the French movie Jeanne du Barry got a 7-minute standing ovation at the 76th Cannes Film Festival. ## "Jeanne du Barry", in which Depp plays King Louis XV, marks the actor's first film in three years, following his long legal battles with ex-wife Amber Heard. Depp won the battle but not before losing multiple big Hollywood projects, including "Fantastic Beasts". ## During the legal tussle, many Hollywood studios parted their ways from Depp though some of them now seem to be willing to work with him. During the press conference for "Jeanne du Barry" today at Cannes, Depp was asked about how he feels about Hollywood's boycott calls against him and Depp appeared to have mixed feelings about the same. ## "Did I feel boycotted by Hollywood? You'd have to not have a pulse to feel like, 'No. None of this is happening. It's a weird joke'", he said (according to Variety). "When you're asked to resign from a film ("Fantastic Beasts 3") you're doing because of something that is merely a function of vowels and consonants floating in the air, yes you feel boycotted".## He continued, "I don't feel boycotted by Hollywood because I don't think about Hollywood. It is said that Veer was waiting for the right opportunity and after going through multiple scripts, he grabs this Akshay Kumar biggie. ## The makers were also looking for a fresh face to accompany Akshay Kumar in this big-budget entertainer and they finally locks Veer Pahariya for a parallel lead role in the film. Mumbai, May 17 - Bollywood star Ajay Devgn will be returning as a fierce cop Bajirao Singham in director Rohit Shetty's Singham Again which is the third installment of the Singham franchise. It is among the most anticipated Bollywood films and easily the biggest film in Shetty's cop universe.## "Singham Again" will go on floors by August this year and will have a grand release during Independence Day weekend 2024.
